I recently bought the smallest one in the Korg K Series, and I'm very happy with it. I like the feel of the keys very much, and the ability to scroll through VST instrument presets easily with the dedicated buttons. You should be able to get one for around $100.

You could search for it on YouTube.

Buy a copy of Computer Music magazine. The bundled dvd should contain CM Studio "all you need to make music". It's very good for the price. Read tutorials in the mag and on the web. Good luck.
