I have to admit, many atheists are assholes but not all. They have no respect for other people beliefs, and that's what makes me hate them. I'm a Catholic, but not a strong one. I question God a bit, but I still believe strongly in him. I have yet to read the bible, but some things in it, like Adam and Eve, I really have trouble believing it.
I respect peoples beliefs, whether they believe in God or not, and I have no problem with them at all. But when they're gonna say the Bible is a bunch of shit, and that bash what I belief in, that's where they've crossed the line. Whether they feel that way or not, they don't have to say it. But they do because they're assholes and shoving their beliefs down my throat since I don't think the way they do.
I believe it's human nature for most people to wanna be right, which causes them to force their beliefs onto one another.
I was questioning God for a while. I thought that religion caused more harm than good by causing quarrels. Basically, I watched this horrible movie, had a bit of an epiphany, and now I believe a bit more strongly. It made me believe that if religion didn't exist, it would be full of death and horror which might be partly true. But this isn't really that relevant.
Don't get me wrong though, I dislike extremely religious people too. They talk about God, and only God. They leave their lives in God's hands and they will dislike anyone who don't think exactly like them. It sickens me. They tell people that if you don't give your life to God, you'll burn in hell. That's ridiculous.
I'm a sinner and I know it. I believe in God, like I said. I pray when I feel it's necessary. Does this make me a sheep that's not able to think for itself? Hell no. I live my life according to what I feel is right, just like how atheists live their lives around what they feel is right also. If it's truly what they believe, I'm all for it. If they're just doing it to be cool, then I think they're idiots.
I don't talk about religion unless asked. I don't think it's something that really needs to be talked about, except to share the goodness with each other who share the same beliefs, or to enlighten someone if they ask.
I know I'm going off topic
My main point, is that one's beliefs should be kept to one's self. It makes me laugh how say, a Protestant and a Catholic can't get along because they're beliefs are different, even if they both worship the same God. They can't just live their lives on more important things like actually living. because a human being always has to be right.
Eh, I'm bad with words. You'd probably be better of just scanning the above to have a good understanding of what I'm trying to say.
