I like the dots. They add to the wispy effect.

Rebuttals/attacks welcomed.

Your drawing's very detailed and definately took a long time to recreate. Good job on that.

Though, the sprite's color scheme allowed it to make the texture of metallic parts. Yours doesn't have that texture to it, and it may hurt your drawing in that the sprite is more detailed than your picture.

I like the different thickness of lines that you use. Did you do that on purpose or did it just turn out that way?

Also, Celes?

Is this straying too far from the original?

The lack of details on the objects in your picture.

The hat should have the lines that reach all the way up to the top of the hat.

Another example is the backpack. Right now, it's just a brown blob with rectangles sticking out. On a real backpack, those would actually be pockets and flaps. They would hold real things in them and are stitched together like a real backpack would be. Just look at the objects in the picture like clothes and stuff and think about how each serves a function.

Your guy has a nice expression on his face.

Response to: +++Art of the Saurus+++ Posted January 18th, 2007 in Art

Your first picture has very good detail on the fur gloves and the wooden arms. You can actually feel the materials of them. The horse bottom, however does not have as much detail, and at second glance, it's not very clear on what it is. The blur effect looks like a blur, and not the fuzzy hair of an animal, so much so that it sort of blends into the background. Judging from the texture of the gloves and arms, you're probably capable of making it possible.

I think that your human drawing needs the most work in the face. You got the basic proportions in place. Now, you need to make the face a little more "3D". Even anime drawings make their human figures give a 3D feel to the figure to add a more human feel to the character. The chin and the jawline are too pointy and don't give the feel of a real jaw. The eyes need to give the impression that a round eyeball is underneath the skin. Right now, it's flat on a flat face. One way to improve is to study an artbook from any anime (though not stylized ones like Crayon Shin-chan or Milk-chan) and watch how they shadow certain parts of the face and add lines to make it more 3D. Or you could study an actual face and map out the dips an curves of your own face.

I think most of it is good, but the hands don't look quite right...they don't look like, structurally, they were built correctly.

It's probably the right hand. In order for the fingers to be at that angle (an angle in which the finger tips are directly digging into the weapon), the knuckles would have to come closer to the viewer and the wrist would have to twist a bit upwards and peak a bit over the knuckles to allow the hand to twist over the weapon like that.

In reality, the legs are usually the same length as the body so they're not really "wrong".

But in cartoon-ish drawings (especially anime), the rule is to typically make the legs longer because it's supposedly more attractive.

Not from my direct experience and knowledge, they aren't. Italians have their faults, granted (shitty politicians, reality shows 24/7, pathetic mass transit system, etc) but bullying isn't one of them.

Human beings in general tend to pick on those who aren't fluent in social behavior. Just because you haven't had any direct experience with it in your country, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

I used to think that too.

Until I met my roommate's ex-boyfriend. It was surprising, since he was the type to listen to rap, buy really expensive Nike sneakers, has an afro, 'yo momma jokes and all most other stereotypical crap (except the whole glock & gangsta stuff) that you'd be able to pin on a black guy.

He used to watch a lot of sailor moon and listens to J-pop on his ipod. And 'pokemon plz, not digimon'.

Huh.

It's Tales of Symphonia.

Clarification!: The spell called "Nurse" is a technique that heals all the party members. It's visually represented by the magician summoning a bunch of nurses and they run around and "patch up" the characters. In this case, the characters are still regaining HP from the spell, but in a different way...

Events like Columbine and other school shootings, coupled with psycho parents and media insisting that schools take responsibility for the actions of their children, contributes heavily to school officials and staff being completely paranoid about the threat of another shooting.

They jump at even the smallest hint of depression, afraid that their reputation and school will be put under scrutiny for things that they probably can't control. And while it's good to try and help people who are depressed enough to kill themselves and others, it is also unfair to you that your privacy is violated because of it.

The only thing to remember is that it will get better once you get the fuck out of high school. Finish it and enjoy your college years. Sometimes, the only good thing about the teenage years is that it ends.
