OP, let me tell you about my job! (Not trying to shift the attention on me, just trying to show you it's not always easy.)

I work at a nursery. (Star Nursery, they have locations in Nevada, Utah and Arizona) and my job, as being a carryout, is to help the customers load up their car, or if they're fat and/or lazy bastards, I have to pull their plants for them.

One day, a man and two women came in (I'm assuming one woman and the man were married, and the other was a sister or something) came in, and they needed help loading a cart full of 5 gallon plants. We have a roll of trunk liner that is free to take, so you can put your plants on top of them so you don't get your car messy. (I'll come back to that in a second.)

So, doing my job, I took the plants out with the two women, and started loading. I realized the man was nowhere to be found, while the women were helping me load. (What a man, right?)

So, I had just gotten the last 5 gallon plant in the car, when the man comes out of the store with the trunk liner, and gets mad at the women, and indirectly pissed at me. I could tell he was mad at me, but he didn't yell at me, just at the women. So, he starts taking ALL OF THE GODDAMN PLANTS BACK OUT OF THE CAR and then puts the plastic down. He angrily says "I got it, you can leave" while his "wife" was yelling at him, saying it worked wtf are you doing.

Work is rough, but a year and a half later, I got a raise to 8.75 and I may or may not get another one soon, or maybe even a promotion. Bust your ass, I promise it'll pay off.

Well, there's always the option of a coat hanger...

Forget about it, I hate it... Honest advice, get a job where you won't have to work past like 8 or 8:30 at night so you have some time to relax and study. My first semester I was still at McDonald's and doing 3-11 everyday after going to school, and then eating my Saturdays there too. Try to give yourself one weekend day off, luckily I usually had Sunday off.

With my new job, I work Saturdays and Sundays which I regret. It's manageable now that it's summer but I'm going to be a miserable fuck when I go back to school, I'm sure of it...

I definitely need a new job. Mine is seasonal. While I did get a raise to 8.75, right now in the summer at a plant store, I'm lucky if I get 20 hours a week, if that... It's rough.

Cool. I currently live in Buffalo, New York, and I'm heading to Syracuse next year to attend an environmental school called SUNY-ESF.

It's a pretty competitive school, which just means more debt for me. Sweg.

Also I might get my Master's, so I got a good 4-6 years of school ahead of me. Good shit. I think ESF ought to be fun though should everyone not be a carbon-copy hippie.

I probably would go for a Master's too, but I'm just so burned out... At one point, I told my mom I didn't want to go to school anymore and she lit a fire in my ass and told me "don't end up like your sister." And that's a whole different, hilarious story lol

I can honestly say I'm glad it's all over. My parents have always told me that high school would be the "golden years" of my life, but honestly, they were the worst 4 years of my life that I'll never get back. The only things I've gotten out of high school were ending the bullies bullying me (it was really bad, I got jumped one time and my lip was bleeding really bad) by starting my training in Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, I got closer to my now best friend, and the best thing, I finger-banged my first girl. Other than that, everything my parents told me about high school was a complete lie, how they were the "best four years."

Thoughts? How was high school for you guys?

And if anyone is wondering, I graduate on June 11. :)

If you really want to learn self defense, pick up a martial art. Many argue that they're not good when fighting a group, but if a kid wants to fight you or whatever, you can use a martial art that uses an arsenal of different strikes, holds, chokes, etc. I would recommend muay thai and jiu jitsu. Not only is it good self defense, it's actually really fun. Good luck
