Tomorrow between 3-6pm should work for me as well. Let's all try and be on by 4pm. If this time frame is good for everyone, that's what we'll stick with.

Speaking of which... the fit just hit the shan in the other collab I am in.
I had to scrap all the work I've done on it so far and start anew... the amount of work that's going to collide with both collabs would be just too overwhelming...

It also seems that MOC didn't care for the art direction I was going for... it was supposed to be a break from all the dark/serious animation, by having a more cartoony/lighter tone to it. And yes, I thought Vince needed to look older as well.

Since there are still people interested in the animation so much, I would like to pass my part off to one of the more talented animators seeking to claim a spot...

I'm really sorry, If I wasn't such a sucker for seniority, I probably would've bailed on the other collab. but since I signed up there first... I think it's only fair. I hope you guys understand, and I wish you all the best!

Dylawrence, no hard feelings. It is unfortunate to see you go, but I totally understand the workload thing. I'm having a hard enough time balancing my own workload. And just to clarify, I don't want you to think I didn't like your artwork. I thought it was great, just needed a different design, which I know you're capable of. I greatly appreciate you letting all of us know you won't be able to participate sooner than later. Better to find out now than half-way through. I wish you the best of luck in your current production and hope all goes well. Thank you for all the contributions you have already made.

Ockeroid, I've always been a fan of your style. And considering a spot has opened, you're more than welcome to participate in any way you please. I forgot we've spoken before through PM about contacting a voice-actor. How is that going?

And to all my current writers,

Assuming we've all created our google wave accounts, we should all try to figure out a date and time for our brainstorming session so we can finalize the outline for the script. I'm typically free any time after 5 on weekdays. Weekends vary. I'm not sure when my day off is this week, but I'll find out and let you all know. Everyone interested in the brainstorming process, please list what times work for you so we can work out a date.

Thanks,

-MOC

Yeah, I was looking into that. I'm wondering if there's some sort of way through google where we can set up a private chat room or something. We can all plan a time and finalize our ideas. Then we can begin production, or "pre-production" so to speak.

What does everyone think?

Response to: The Cinematic Collab Posted December 4th, 2010 in Collaboration

Okay, if I did everything right, my google wave account is:

Damnit Tom. You didn't post mine. It's okay though. I only posted it 3 weeks late.

I do wish this list was a bit longer though. Action and serious flash movies are the most underrated genre on this site. It's a shame because alot of them take way more effort than the abundance of 30 second comedies on this site.

Yes. The only issue is that the Dump doesn't accept .DOC files, or really anything for word processing.

Anybody familiar with Google Wave?

I'm not familiar with it, but I'm sure we can all learn it. Just as long as there's some way for us to all share one document.

I have thought about that. What I think I'm going to do (if possible) is put a word file in the NG file dump and message the link to all of you. That way we can all add to it and re-upload. We can still bounce ideas in the thread, as long as we're discreet. If a huge plot point or specific dialogue needs discussion, add a little side-note in the document and upload it. That way we can all see it and discuss it as needed.

Sound good?

I know the deadline is passed, but fuck it. I'm gonna go for it anyway.

Tactical Diplomacy
Tactical Diplomacy II
Tactical Diplomacy III

They won top 5 awards, but never got front-paged. They don't have a whole lot of views either.

Response to: Treasure Hunt 2010 - Weird, Naughty Posted November 29th, 2010 in NG News

I'd also like to know if there will be a serious flash section of some sort. I know the deadline was a while back, but if I can, I'd like to suggest:

Tactical Diplomacy
Tactical Diplomacy II
Tactical Diplomacy III

They won top 5 awards, but never got front-paged. They don't have a whole lot of views either.

Like I said, I know the deadline is way passed, but if you're doing a serious flash section and still need suggestions, maybe you could consider those?

Loving the artwork guys. Everything is coming together quite nicely. I think we're finally ready to start writing. I will warn you guys, I work in retail so this is a very busy time of year for me. I'm going to do my best to write a first scene/outline in the coming days. Once that's done, we can all enter the production process.

That being said, I'm going to make Liquify my second in command. If I'm ever M.I.A. in the forum for any reason, all creative decisions would go through him. This is assuming that Liquify is up to the task. Hopefully everyone is okay with this.

Response to: The Cinematic Collab Posted November 24th, 2010 in Collaboration

Hey guys. Sorry for the lack in recent posts. I've been really tied up with work and Thanksgiving plans and such, as I assume most of you are as well. I say we all take a 2-3 day break from everything and "rendezvous" this weekend.

MOC can you address my question to score/choose music for the film?

Although I am a big fan of choosing music for projects, if you really want, I'll let you have that one. Music is crucial so I'd still like to be part of the process. Plus my brother is willing to compose some tracks for it as well, but we can collaborate on that when the time comes.

And yes, kind of like Valentine 29.

Hey sorry I've been MIA for a while guys. I've been busy with college prep and stuff. Anyway, I'm loving the progress we're making here. Here's the updated list. I'm only listing the people who have been contributing the most because I feel they're the ones who will follow through...

Liquify-writer/some animating
Dylawrence-animator
Rabid-Animals-writer
Arcaniel-animator/(possibly writer. not sure)

Let me know if that's correct. If I got anything wrong, just repost the list and update it to your liking.

Should Vince really have long hair? I just see him as a bit "cleaner" so to speak".

Response to: The Cinematic Collab Posted November 16th, 2010 in Collaboration

As long as we're all throwing sketches out there, this is what I threw together. Could be for any of the characters I guess.

Actually, if Vince told a story, I think this is how he would view himself.

He doesn't take anything seriously and is a jokester and it would be perfect that everyone looked like that for his story.

The only thing I am not sure of is the hair. I like it, but slicked back and black would be another look I would like to see.

Well I don't mean he has to act serious per say. I just think he should be "illustrated" to look a bit more adult and less cartoonish. Yes, he doesn't really take himself seriously, but he doesn't view himself as funny looking either. Like I said, don't get me wrong, it's a good illustration on its own, I just think it needs to be taken up a notch.

Voice acting-Just like others, off roles, or even main roles, can be taken by me. MOC, you've heard my voice acting in the past, so just let me know what you're seeing as a part appropriate for me.

Now we need animators.
Yea, I can only help animate, I can't animate an entire scene on my own.

I now have 3 projects on my plate. 2 Long ones and 1 that is a short tribute flash.

The tribute could be done by mid week if I work really hard on it, but I gotta a lot of resource work to do.

ANYWAY, I thought I would provide an excuse on why I can't animate a complete scene on my own.

That's fine. If we don't find enough committed animators, I can do your scene. If you want to help with background design and or character design, I should be able to pull it off.

Ok guys, here's the deal. As far as I can tell, the primary contributors here are me, Liquify, and Rabid-animals. I don't know of anyone solid animating yet besides myself. So I'm going to do this one more time to make sure.

Anyone still interested, and willing to follow through, state what your role is. Writer an/or animator. And if you put animator, I HAVE to see some credentials. I can's have just anybody animate. If you don't have anything, but feel you can handle it, I'll have a sort of "try-out". I'll give you something short and simple to animate, and you can send it to me. If I like it, I'll approve you.

I think we have all of our characters set. Sidenote: one of them needs to know how to pick locks (duh) as I have a plan to use that at the end.

Once all of this is entirely set in stone, I'll post an outline and a first scene.

Response to: The Cinematic Collab Posted November 13th, 2010 in Collaboration

That's a valid point. I've just been contemplating doing a madness movie for a while. Just thought it might be a bit easier for us to get a consistent look between animators. I like the idea of doing something different with the madness genre, like not overloading it with pointless violence. But I suppose you're right. There would be too many expectations. People probably wouldn't get it.

At this point, we need to make sure the animators are talented enough to keep the "look" of the movie consistent. It would be unfortunate to have 3 well animated scenes accompanied by a horribly animated scene.

Response to: The Cinematic Collab Posted November 13th, 2010 in Collaboration

Hey guys. Loving the initiative you're all taking. I'm at work right now, so when I get home, I'll type up the full list of who's assigned to what.

Also, just thought I'd throw this out there...is anyone interested in making this a Madness themed piece? Just a thought. Not even sure it's a good one. Just thought I'd see what you guys thought.

Thanks for your time.

There have been alot of people asking if they can join suddenly. I'm starting to think I need to thoroughly go through everyone's user pages and determine who can contribute the most. I don't want to let a bunch of people in prematurely only to later find out they've just disappeared. So Arcaniel, if you'd like to join and animate, I'd have to see something substantial from you. More than what's on your page.

Well guys, I want everyone to agree on one here. If you guys really want to go with the first one, we can. I just think something a little less notable might be a better approach. Either painting we go with, we need to determine where the original is being held, and what it's worth, roughly.
