I tried too resist using thios format of a response but I couldn't. I disagree with almost everything you said.

NOt sure which ones you're refering to but if it's the ones I'm thinking of, they do suck.
As a Wii owner, I am a big nintendo fan, but games like wii sports don't cut it for me. Yeah, they can be fun for parties and newer gamers, but when I play a videogame, I want it simply to be based on pressing buttons, joysticks, and controll pads.
You're very set in your ways, aren't you. Try something new.
Not just because I'm lazy or have nostalgic issues, I don't like the motion controll. People had been used to playing video games with regular, non motion based controllers, and that's the way it should stay. It's just another crazy gimmick that ruins video games.
BBe more openmineded, and give it a chance. sure, it mostly sucks now but it will get better.
By the way anyone remember how crappy "Eye Toy" was?
Anyway, I can see maybe releasing a few games with motion features, but having most of them like that just isn't good. Red steel for example, was a shooting game, but its hard to properly play it when you can't just use the controller's joystick to aim. At the time, there was no Wii Zapper out (I don't know the actual name for it), so when using motion controll, it just wasn't fun to point a hard white chocolate bar at the screen.
Are you fucking kidding me? Wiimote aiming is the best thing to happen for FPS since the mouse. It's much more fun and a lot more intuitive (ie niot having to invert the aim).
Nintendo had to sacrafice proper grip on the controll just to improve the motion controll. Don't you think the Wii remote would be a lot easier to hold if it were shaped more like a gamecube controller. The poor mishapen thing isn't even asthetically pleasing! Immagine when the guy who designed it presented it to nintendo:
...Surprise! IT'S A RECTANGLE!
Oh noes! Something new! You can't point a gamecube controller at something. Or use your hands seperately. It's really nice to be able to position your hands where ever you want (when the game doesn't use a lot of motion control) instead of holding them together in front of you.
A lot of Wii owners are harassed by other "Hardcore Gamers" because of their "Gay and Childish" games. Well, all I could say about that is that games with motion controll only really can be good for "Babyish versions of sports," (wii sports) "Childish party games" (rayman raving rabbids) and "silly racing games" (mario kart). Some of these games, like mario kart can still be fun, but they get old quickly.
Do you play Mario Kart online or just alone. Because I can understand how you'd get tired of cheap AI.
Remember back when Mario Party used to be fun. Even when the minigames were about button mashing, they still somehow brought a thrill to the game. I don't want to clean a fucking chain chomp!
I actually agree with you here. I got Mario Party 8 as a gift. It just plain sucked. Not at all fun like the old ones.
Overall, the detection of the motion is just a bitch. You try to get the pointer on screen, but you can't find the right angle and you can't keep your hand steady! That damn sensor bar on my TV is just a total nuicance. It just keeps falling off my TV.
You just suck at it. The only person I ever saw playing Wii who couldn't do it was my 7 yearold cousin. You can rest in on your lap and still point. As for the sensor bar, use tape or something. And you must live next to train tracks or something for it to just fall off for no reason.
I'm not saying the Wii or Nintendo is bad. I'm just saying the Wii's motion based games are.
By the way, Sonic and the Secret Rings is just crap...
It wasn;t crap, it was mediocre.
Now that I've said... all that... I want to hear your position on motion controlled games.
It took me forever to get used to analog sticks when I got my N64, just give it some practice. And don't tell me you did because you admitted you can't even point at the screen properly.
As for my own opinion. I think it's a step in the right direction. Sure it's spawned alot of crap, but things can only get better from here. The Wiimotion Plus should give us some accurate control, even if we don't see it for a year or two. And the pointing feature is just plain awesome. It works perfectly.
