I read on Joystiq today that there are plans for a sequel, but Notch, who initially was going to be a financial supporter of the game, decided to back out as it would require him to pump in 18 million dollar.
I didn't really enjoy Psychonauts though, it was decent, but it had a bit of the same aesthetics as the Jimmy Neutron game I use to play as a kid, plus I found the main character very unlikable.

As for this thread, I'm more the kind of person that dislikes a game many people adore than vice verse.

Oh God, you're right, it's moments like these that I wish I could edit my posts.

Anyhow, considering this has obviously been posted wrongly and the response isn't that enthusiastic, so to say, I request a lock on this one...

Or whatever BBS moderators do with fail-threads.

Well, that's obviously because you have to break the sprinklers first.

I made a rather simplistic icon for you, but it kind of fits the guidelines.

Response to: your first game? Posted February 5th, 2013 in Video Games

The first 'videogame' that I owned was one of those Tetris handheld devices. Mine also had some other games, like Brick Breaker and some shooting game. It had a ton, but I only really knew how to lay like ten of them.

My first Nintendo game that I owned was Pokémon Sapphire for the GameBoy Advance SP. I was kind of late when I joined the other kids with owning consoles, but I can proudly say that I was the first of my class that owned a GBA SP, so that was pretty rad.

Favorite Genres Posted February 5th, 2013 in Audio

So, we all have certain genres we do and do not enjoy. Though I dislike seeing a competitive attitude towards other genres that one doesn't like, even though the unspecific significant other does.

So let's discuss genres you enjoy and explain why. If you insist you can also tell us which you don't like (and for what reasons), but please don't get into any irrational discussions that lead to circlejerking and beating dead horses.

Genres I personally enjoy a lot are:
Drum 'n Base; because this is a rather wide genre I'll try to be more specific. A sub-genre I really enjoy is liquid. Artists like Feint are in my opinion the next best thing to concrete euphoria. Only a little selection of artists is able to do that, but when they do, I can listen the song continuously for days without getting tired of it.
Pop; this one is kind of two-sided, as I'm not a big fan of most pop music. Just once in a while I manage to find a track that I really enjoy. Ken Ashcorp is an incredibly talented artist that really makes me enjoy this genre. He also manages to make it sound very enjoyable to me, by combining it with Hip-Hop.
Alternative: this one is especially wide. But to give an example of what kind of 'alternative' music I listen to. Modest Mouse is a band I find really amazing. Their lyrics make no sense 90% of the time, but they are able to create a really raw kind of music that tickles my fancy.

So, share some music genres you really enjoy and please, keep it friendly.

Just made a rather short entry as I didn't feel like doing something enormous for this. I kind of wish I did a spell and grammar check.

Damn you, Newgrounds and your inability to edit your posts!

Response to: why do so many people hate CoD Posted February 5th, 2013 in Video Games

I'm personally not a big fan of Call of Duty, mainly because I'm generally not a big FPS player, but I won't say that it's a really bad franchise. Nonetheless I can see why people dislike the game. The original Call of Duty's, with exception of the very first, in my opinion, had overall a more engaging story and were something unique, they added something new to the game. Now though, there isn't a whole lot more you can add, which makes the game seem repetitive. You can of course still add new maps and even some guns, but the biggest improvements are pretty much only the graphics and even that has gotten quite stale.
Nonetheless, it does seem as if they put effort into improving the games, right now they try hard to make the zombie modes more enjoyable as zombies are, for some reason, getting really hyped up at the moment. Additionally is Black Ops 2 quite refreshing and a lot better than its predecessor. The fact that they tried exploring the future just goes to show that they are actually trying to do something new. It will probably never be known as a source of pure creativity, but I think there's at least some effort to make the new games better than the last.

Response to: Toughest Gym Leader in Pokemon Posted February 5th, 2013 in Video Games

I don't remember having a lot of trouble with any of the gym leaders as a kid, but one I did find quite difficult was leader Winona in Pokémon Sapphire. I remember obliterating the first three Pokémon, only to get my ass kicked by her tank-ass Altaria. This one had me do quite a lot of grinding, but then I remember that I put a Plusle on the daycare and my Blaziken learned Blaze Kick our the same time, so then the match got a piece of cake.

Nonetheless, that's a battle that has kind of stuck with me.

Response to: Best Gta Alternative Posted February 5th, 2013 in Video Games

The best GTA alternative is in my opinion Sleeping Dogs. I played Saints Row: The Third and I really love that game, I just don't think it suits as well as an alternative for GTA as Sleeping Dogs does. In my opinion Sleeping Dogs is a bit like GTA with refined combat, put in a new jacket. Though I feel as if the open world in GTA is more enjoyable and kind of stands out.

I'm Dutch, the way I put money on my Steam account is through PayPal, it's pretty easy. And if that doesn't suit you, you can always just pay directly through PayPal.

It was a calm, gray day as Nathan was strolling through the park. The leash tightly wrapped around his right hand, while the other was almost automatically pressing the buttons of his sturdy, old cellphone. He had the thing for ages, but his parents insisted that if he wanted a new one, he had to purchase it from his own pocket. Even though this didn't please him at all, he kind of new his parents were right. He never had a job in his entire life, whereas most of his friend had a supermarket job. Nathan kept pondering these actualities until suddenly a bright ray of light burst through the clouds. It briefly blinded Nathan, as his eyes were fully adjusted to the rather dark environment around him.

The sky scraped apart as it was God, who spoke to Nathaniel. "Thou shalt not keep on living thy life in sloth! For I am thy Father and thou shalt obey my word, as it is thine law!"

Then the clouds just like mashed together or something and it was all dark again, which was really stupid. But it was really cool that God talked to me. I've been praying every day and stuff, well, maybe not every day or at all, actually. But this is still really unexpected, you know? So I like, kept on walking, until I saw like, some bench, because I was kind of shocked, you know. And it was all really heavy and stuff. Plus Vixon was totally going all slow, so there wasn't really a point of going any further.

As he had taken place on the bench, our hero could feel the sweat drip down his back. Like water gently flows down a leaf after a summer rain. It was that moment, that he took note that his loyal companion had gathered energy and was ready to continue the journey they had embarked earlier when they saw the sun went to rest in the west of his vast country.

So he was like, ayo, I'm gonna take this my crib, bro'. He was pullin' that least like it was fucking nothing, mate. So yeah, he was all hyped up after he got that crunk one-on-one with the big G. I'm telling ya man, he was fucking husslin' that mo'fo'. Fo shizzle. But fo' real, that shit was fucking Harry Peter magic sheit man. I ain't gon' lie man, I'm jel as shit on that n*gger, but don't tell 'em bro, I don't wanna have him think I'm out on his swag, yo. An'way, I gots to split. Ciao, baby.

I have never really tried to do something like this and I normally write in the first style I went with, so I hoped it sort of worked out.

What the heck is on with the top 5 lately? In what way was an animation about hamsters better than Magnifico?

I don't quite understand why Naruto VS Sasuke is rated above Jurassic Stick. Even though it had some decent full bodies, the Naruto animation had no pre-loader, was unfinished and was incredibly unoriginal.

I'm disappointed in P-Bot today.

It's about time, HotDiggetyDemon started upload it's My Little Pony parodies, haha. We need more past-the-border humor around here.
Anyways, number one was just as great, even though the voice-acting seemed slightly off.

Good selection today.
