COMPLETE edition of the interactive "choose next panel" comic
4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsI think the cartoon is pretty funny, the joke seems unique (at least I have never heard something similar) and you build up the right mood before you serve the punchline.
But the drawing still looks very much like MS Paint to me. While the program itself is not the problem - there are some artist who can create awesome drawings with Paint, I call them the chosen one - in this case it's still to pixelated and hurts my eyes.
Ouch!
Ok you added a simple background, that's much better, but I'd say it could use a little more stuff, like a house for example (cause it says the sword is in the front lawn)
Compared to the first one, I think this is a step into the right direction. Keep it up!
Posted art tends to get resized automatically according to art forum rules (700 height x599 width) btw
Oh sorry I should really learn to read more carefully. :P
This may not come in very helpful, but I think everything looks alright. Maybe you could add some patterns to some off the clothes to make them look more diversified. Still nice mix off loose and body-fit clothes, so far.
Ok, but if anybody wants to help you, they need to see the characters. Do you mean the three chars on the linked drawing?
Or do you just want to see random clothing?
I'm with J-qb and feel a little confused, are you Fabio Paciulli from Rome, Italy or Nikolay Yeliseyev from Rostov-on-Don, Russia? And no, don't tell me both are they same.
Guess what, I am the emperor of china!
Congrats to the winners, they did a really great job!
But there was not a single Godzilla entry :'(
As a first step to get rid of the jagged lines, I would recommend drawing bigger pictures (like two times the size you want it to be in the end) and then resize it accordingly when you are done.
Generally a small canvas gives a low resolution, resluting in pixelated images.
Did you use the pencil tool for the drawing? You should use the brush tool, to avoid those pixels.
If you want it totally 100% crisp and without pixeled lines, you should try a vector based program, like Inkscape. But I must admit it's not as easy to begin with as GIMP.

5 - The Paint thing...hmmm. I want to use Photoshop but I'm shaky on it. I know it will look a thousand times better, but I fear getting used to a new program. Is it hard to learn? How's the learning curve?
You must see it that way: You can at least do everything you do with paint without learning something new, but it looks better.
And actually you can draw well, maybe we all feel like you're wasting your talent to Paint. ^^
But before you buy an expensive program you should try one of the free ones. GIMP is said to be the most popular among them.
I'm looking forward for more, keep it up!

@Mabelma: Nice link, thanks.
Hmmm, I must say the left character looks a lot more like link, than any Monster Hunter armours/suits I've seen. Why is this so pixelated? Did you draw it with MS Paint? Generally Paint looks crappier than almost any other option you have. So please check out this list of free art programs, it's pretty helpful.
For the cartoon, the fact that you use one single pic takes away many possibilities. With the style you are going you should use several panels and benefit from different funny facial expressions. And I would highly recommend, that you either write the text yourself if you have a tablet, or at least use a totally different font. Comic sans ms is a popular choice.
Other than that, the drawings look good for a comic style, but as I said MS Paint spoils it. And a background would make it look even better.
It really came out great! Good job everyone! (yes including myself :P)
One question though when I see the artist info there are links saying "more info" next to original piece and clockified by. They don't seem to work, or am I the only one having this problem? I didn't want to point the users to that problem with a review.
Happy Clockday and long live the king!
Bribe the scientist with some rancid Ho Hos to tell you what he is experimenting on.
Ok, half a day without internet connection and when I come back I see these amazing drawings. I raise my hat to you!
I have an idea if it's not too much effort. I think Kakashi's drawing would make a perfect ceiling fresco. Would it be possible that you can see it in the gallery whenever you push the up arrow?
Just thinking, but I immediately fear that it is very difficult and not enough time left, right?
Why didn't I go for Hoppers "Nighthawks"? stoooopid me!

Ok thanks for the advice. Looks much better.
Haha, good job Ashman, this looks great. I love the fur coat.
So here's my second submission "The Treachery of Images"
Please decide what you think looks better. I would go for the JPG, but I'm not sure.
I was experimenting and adding a pipe to StrawberryClock but it seemed too much and took away the feeling of simplicity. Too much talk.... here it is.
Is "Z z z z z" supposed to be a snorring sound? Just asking because I can't imagine it's possible with text to speech. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I really enjoyed it. The contest was a great idea, thanks a lot!
Here's my entry. Last minute!
Oh answers overlapped, ignore the animal questions part then. :P
Ok to be honest and constructive, I must say that it looks interesting, but I also can't tell what it is. It's an animal, ok, so I guess it's an made up creature? Are the lighter red features supposed to make it look robotic? Cause it does to me.
To make it easier to give some feedback you should upload more drawings sooner or later. Plus I would highly recommend that you take a look at this list of free art programms, because MS Paint looks bad most of the times.
I call "The Treachery of Images"! Rene Magritte ftw!
@LegolaSS: Lintire already called "The Birth of Venus".
According to our beloved art forum rules you must upload your picture to the thread, not just link to it. (And maybe you should read all of them just to be safe) ^_^

Definitely, because this has been done 4 years ago.
And nobody would actually care if the initiators have seen it on another site before.

here's one more.. Easter Island Statues.
i did one with a sun dial and one with an ordinary clock face, you can decide which is better..
Sun Dial PNG
Clock Face PNG
If I could decide I would showcase both in the gallery, cause the sundial-version is even funnier when you see the clock version too. But I don't know how gallery owner ReNaeNae thinks about it or if you already clarified the issue. Anyway, they look great.

Thanks Kakashi, I think you were right and I did it that way.
Now I resized it according the collab requirements and you can't hardly see the filter anymore, but that's life. Anyway here it is!
I could use some help here. I was experimenting with a noise filter and would like to here your opinion what looks best. (The original piece has a look that's similar to the filter)
1. No filter
2. Filter
3. More intense filter
Or should I even use a lower setting than 2 / more intense than 3 / something inbetween?
This came out great! Really nice, I love the subheading! Just the face on the copy does not really look horrified, but still it's good.
Also good arrangement of the credits and the "buzzwords".

Oh, sorry. But I also thought it was perfect for the purpose.
So here's my WIP "The Son of Clock", I'm going to work on a frame soon. So is the light only supposed to come from right above? Just want to know for the frame.
I call Magritte's "The Son of Man", s'il vous plait.
Alright, I rely a little more on my writing than my drawing skills here. I hope you let me get away with that. All I've really drawn are the leaves and the footprints.
