So is there a certain tag we should include like on the first flood?

By the way, not everybody included it last time, if I remember right.

Actually banners looks good with that kind of motive. Just depending on where it will be placed on the body and how big it will be, you probably won't be able to read the text.

As johnny said, try it without the shading and/or make the banner a little broader.

Generally, I think it looks really cool and the text is a great choice.

All of the pics looks good, but that fish is sick.

Don't usually post just to say "looks good" but I had to honour that fish. :P

You're welcome

Maybe I should scan some of my Isometric maps and post them up for some critique?

Maybe you should.

WIP again.

The shading on the face is not completely finished, but that's kind of the "basic structure" of where the shades and highlights will be. Anything terribly wrong?

Also a little bump. Maybe we got some more people in.

But what about those random darker green lines on the hair? Is this the shading on the hair? No offense, but they look out of place.

Probably "hand traced". It's too close to be drawn free-hand, but there are many differences like the hand, the position of the girl in the back or even the head shape.

To OP, you should know that traces may not be forbidden, if you properly state that it's a trace in the first place, but they are not very welcome here.

I also didn't realise that, when I first came here.

That violin part introducing it was simple and unflattering to the song. What was with the violinist rotating while playing?

The year before, a violin playing and singing dude won, so they wanted to jump the bandwagon and put the emphasis on the violin.

And after Germany won with "Lena", there will be many young crazy singing girls with a wierd english accent, next year. JUMP THE BANDWAGON

Dunno if I have the same problem. In my case it's just laziness. I didn't do any drawing practices for weeks (except for trying fur and hair one day) and if it wasn't for the friday flood, I would not draw anything at all.

Maybe after a thrilling Friday Flood, we should have a Saturday Stickam.

Yeah and after chilling for the sunday we can discuss everything in a Monday Mumble and after the regular Tuesday Timing we should try new things in a Wednesday Workout....

Just kidding, it sounds like an interesting idea

Not quite. One more issue needs to be solved: Is bisker191 on NG probably the same person as harvestmoonluvr from theotaku.com?

But luckily the harvestmoonluvr is a 15 year old girl while bisker191 is an 18 year old male.

Response to: KittehCat's Art Thread Posted October 30th, 2010 in Art

Ok, your drawings are not bad. You obviously have some kind of "feeling" for the facial expressions, even if the proportions are not always correct. In this case her right eye, that means the left eye from our perspective, is bigger than the other one. It should however be the other way around, because the other eye is closer to the viewer.

Anyway like Kraig already stated, you should now take the next step and practice with more details, shading, colouring etc.

I'm not saying what you do is bad or something, I just think you could easily improve your pieces.

If you can't decide where to start, I can highly recommend art101's shading/contrast tutorial. Generally art101's user page is always worth checking out.

I like her eyes, they look rather enchanting. :)

Agreed.

Since we were asked about rule changes lately, are our (beloved) mods aware, that the rule about the upload size of pictures in the Art Forum Rules differ from the little text next to the "Include Picture?" box.

Rules: "Maximum upload size is 200k, with a maximum width of 595 pixels and maximum height of 700 pixels."

Include Picture: "File must be a .gif or .jpg and no larger than 150k, and must not exceed 599px wide by 700px tall"

That said, I remember that I tried to upload a .gif with 150,9k once (on johnny's birthday thread) and it didn't work.

Just saying....

What art program do you use? All of your works have this pixely "pattern" on them, instead of plain colour. To me, this piece is your best one so far.

Basically, I'm looking for someone to create some art I can put on a few of my pages.

You should check out the Art Request Thread for that purpose. But make sure to read the first post before posting your request.

I've always wanted an interactive 'template?' , like a main picture where objects seen would be click able, or just animated in general.

Sounds more like you want a flash based animated website. In that case you will need to hire a flash programmer/artist who knows how to do that. I'm not sure in which forum or thread you can find someone like that here on NG, but I know there are a lot of people around who know how to create flash websites.

From the Art Forum Rules, "Maximum upload size is 200k, with a maximum width of 595 pixels and maximum height of 700 pixels."

So either the little text next to "include picture?" is wrong in the Art Forum or NG is lying.

The Art Forum Rules version must be outdated then, because I tried to upload a pic bigger than 150k and it didn't work. But it's an interesting info, I'll try to contact a mod. Thanks ;)

Response to: QQ: It's not fair! Posted October 27th, 2010 in Writing

I don't understand what you mean. The images you can upload to the art forum are subject to the same restrictions as in any other of the NG forums.
