Dear Nae,
I have no internet connection and that I will post my 3rd entry as soon as my connection is repaired? I'm online with my mobile but can't post at NG.
Would be great. Thanks in advance!
Thanks Jonny! Copy-paste makes me sound like a retard, but really thanks. :P
So after messing (and failing) with the perspective in an attempt to make the edge (brim? seam?) of the wrapper stand-up it is now flat. And as soon as that was finished, I did not have an internet connection anymore.
Anything terribly wrong?
If it's accepted, do you think it could be on the last position in the collab?
Happy belated birthday, Vousielle!

Speaking of Power Rangers. Most people will know it from the frontpage some months ago already but relevant pic is relevant.
I agree with Kashi that voting would be a pain and that you are a good judge.
But if I remember right Batto was highly influental to the birth of this collab idea.
Just sayin'....
Why not simply April Fool's day? Does it really need another theme?
My vote goes for the grey thumbnails.
People will defiitely think that it's just not loading the thumbnail, but that is A) part of the fun and B) probably getting us more views because people tend to be curious
Or we use a thumbnail that looks as if the thumbnail did not load properly, like keeping the bottom half grey or something.

really appreciate all your help :D
Thank you very much! It's a really fun collab so far.
I like the "they used too much butter" pun a lot. :P
Also, I am not at home at the moment, but I'm working on my third piece.

Oh sorry then.
To OP: Maybe someone can draw a male counterpart to your pic. I would, if I was capable of it yet.
Yours looks great btw
Late entry is late.
Very late....
Sorry, did not have access to the laptop I drew this on until now.

You could start by modelling a clay cupcake and put it into a real muffin wrapper.
I like your clay works.
You could add a face to it, that seems to be the popular choice in this collab. :P
At 3/7/11 11:17 PM, Nae wrote:'gotten' is a weird word, don't ya think?!
Ya, it kinda lacks a "for-"....
There's a week left and plenty of spots to fill! ;D
Consider one taken by me.
Hard to say what collab suits your style. If you took your contrasts further along with the way you split some of your pics (skull & head for example) you could make some kind of black and white aka YinYang collab. Or for the desired wtf-effect a Life & Death collab.
On a more important note, you don't meet the set requirements to start a collab. In this case you can talk to a mod who can still give you the permission if he / she thinks that it's ok that to run a collab. Or you find some responsible and reliable partner who meets the requirements and who runs the collab with you.
In either case, good luck!
Nae told me that she would like something like "Belleville" by Django Reinhardt, for example.
Since it's better to use something from NG rather than an already exisiting song. I thought, maybe some of the talented audio artists can create something based on this song or a create similar one.
Just remember, it's supposed to be a loop.

Or a cupcake / muffin.
Just saying, since your cupcake charms look kinda cool.
Bad news for me. I will most likely not be able to submit in time. I'm at a club/association meeting and I'm not sure when I will be back. But I will definitely upload a piece, no matter how late it gets.
>.<

Oh really? How many entries are there now? Nae can you hear us? And where is Superman when you need him?
I have one more piece in the works and would just like to know how much I should hurry to get it in.
After the Friday Flood of course!

Erm.... wut?
Also cool thing Kinsei and I hope there are better times for you to come Abbyka.
It would be very cool if you posted the end result SteakandKidneyPie or allowed Kinsei to post it here. Maybe not instantly, but after you have finished your project or printed your card.... or whatever it is. ^^
Welcome to our beloved art forum then.
First off, your pic looks great.
As the others already said you should just keep posting more art. I recommend creating a new thread, give it a suiting name and make it your personal art showcase thread. You can post all your finished and unfinished stuff there and get some feedback.
As for the scouting, you should read this scouting guide, it should answer all relevant questions. In fact you should read it, even if someone offered to scout you already before you come back here and read our answers.
Apart from his resemblance to a blonde Tetsuo I would say, if anything he looks more futuristic.
If you intentionally wanted him to look futuristic or medieval, you should make it more clear to the viewer. But I'm not saying it's really necessary, because I like the actual design.
On a totally different note, I found this blog entry and thought I should share it with you. It lists Hopper's Nighthawks and some spoofs and variations. The text is spanish but it's all about the pics.
Maybe some of you know other funny variations which are not listed there.
Also Comrade Zangief is right!

I like the idea and the character, but I think you overdid with those wobbly lines. Also on first sight I'd say the shoe in the front is kinda off and the shading is not consistent with the many wrinkles and folds you added. Anyways, the many wrinkles make the pants look like they are made of a huge trash bag rather than some kind of fabric.
I like the hidden message on his chest, it's not instantly noticable, but works just fine.
I'm not an expert with perspective issues and stuff, but I can't shake the feeling that there is something wrong with the gun barrel.
There are white splotches every here and there, so it looks like you drew the lines on a white canvas and copy pasted it on this background. I recommend drawing on a new transparent layer even if you use a white background. Also I don't like this background, you should apply the "wild style" of your drawing to the background as well.
Interesting character you have here. Too me, the pose suggests that he is kinda idle, like he is observing and something. Maybe you should draw something very busy. Since he is evil it could be a busy city he is planning to destroy or view of a world/planet he wants to conquer.
On a side note I would suggest, that you create yourself a personal art showcase thread, give it a suiting name and where you can post all kinds of finished and unfinished stuff in. It's inconvenient to create 3 single threads for three pics.
Thread 1, thread two and this one here.
BTW I was only looking for loops. Do you want full songs as well?
Some silly tunes I found:

Pretty good solution actually, I like it. No hatred here....
Also Nae, did you think about music already?
Wow there are some really cool renders already.
ToaS this tutorial should be added to art101's profile. It's so good, even I understand how to do that now.

That's how opinions can differ. I like the little details you added, but I miss the text, it looked kinda cool. Also you should add some shading to the cup to make it look actually round.
But maybe Nae has another, completely different opinion.
I like it after all, it's a funny idea.
At 2/22/11 10:36 PM, SoConfused wrote: Just in case you didn't know, I intentionally left the lines looking unfinished.
If you want to go for this, I'd suggest adding shading and highlighting to the pic as well as adding more details to the cake. So the viewer somehow understands that you did the sketchiness on purpose without you having to explain it. Otherwise the pic itself just looks unfinished.

I was using Impact in black cause I've seen it on several "anime" pics in the net, but you were absolutely right. I changed it to the dark blue of the face and added some nippon-ness to the font.
PNG for this and I forgot to post the PNG of my revamped first entry before.

I like this piece. Lineart and colouring look pretty good. The girl is bending a little far backwards.... looks like it must hurt.
Next step would be to add some shading. I mean there is a shadow on the floor but none on the chars or the weapons.
