I would like to know this story better if you allow it. Please elaborate.
I think it was ToaS who once had the idea of an automated message that is sent as soon as someone uploads his first piece of art. Explaining the scouting system for example. But I am not sure how much info such message should contain and if it's a good idea to go into too much details, since people could be inclined to skip the message if the text wall is too big.

I blame Luwano!!! ;PHope things are going ok, or at least better for you JKA!!
Oh yeah, I am to blame for confusing Nae about the deadline, sorry. Maybe you two can sort something out in a pm huh? :P
Either way thanks for hosting these collabs JKA they were great and I bet this one will be, too. Even though the art forum is kinda slow this year and there are not so many submissions. Good luck with it!

That looks pretty cool. I initially thought it was a drawing lol.
You should consider making more of those and also making up more custom runes, I like your design.
A dinosaur with a top hat, please.

I've seen him do his work on cam before, it's not traced, it's just extremely well referenced.
And Flowers never made a big secret about the fact that he is sometimes redrawing photos. He should have probably just mentioned the reference pics in the author's comments or something to avoid any confusion.

Do people have to use both tags? I am just asking because I noticed some pics that only have one of these tags.

This one looks pretty interesting so far. The concept as well as the lineart. Looking forward to see more WIPs and the finished version.

As much as I like the concept and the actual foreground drawing, I feel like the background looks too empty
I would have suggested a moon, if there wasn't the red sunset glow already. I like the sunset glow though.
I know it's bad to give critique without providing any ideas how to fix it, but right now I can't think of any other background objects than clouds or birds.
But apart from that it's really nice and a funny idea.

Nobody knows when the staff will announce the winners, except for... well the staff. But I am sure it won't be long anymore since they will definitely give the users some time to buy there 2012 calendars BEFORE 2012 starts.
On a less related note, I noticed that some of my favourite calendar entries get downvoted on a more or less daily basis. So I hope the guy who is doing that is reading this post now: The score DOES NOT affect the judges' opinions, Einstein! You can vote until the next millenium and your chances of winning will NOT increase. Thank you for your attention.
To all participants, good luck in the contest!

No they don't.

[School table drawing] =D
No, the idea is that you upload it at the correct time yourself and post the link here. That way unscouted artists also get some attention and eventually even .... let's not say it too loud ... scouted. But the main goal is to review each others art. I hope that works out this time.
At 10/27/11 08:34 PM, maadis wrote: And finished....
but you seem not interested
Sorry if there is not that much too say. The lineart looked great and so does this version. It's just the same as before, the shading and highlighting should be a bit stronger. Apart from that it looks nice.
If it wasn't a character concept, I would recommend a nice background.
At 10/27/11 07:44 AM, YouriX wrote: Wow isnt there no one remotely interested? This is might be your chance to live from something you love to do!
Or is there something im missing?
Your idea sounds fine, but the truth is many web comic artist can hardly pay their online costs from the little money they earn with it and you want to pay multiple artist, that's very ambitious. So I hope you understand that people don't come running to join.
You forgot to mention some advantages of working together. Like, why shouldn't talented comic artists get their own website/blog to host their work? For example, multiple artists sharing one website would reduce server costs for each person and make it easier to update more regularly.
Your website looks kinda bland at the moment. If you want comic artists to join you should somehow convince them that providing content for your site is a good idea. Right now one can't really make out any layout or design.
I don't want to come across all negative, I just think there many things that should be considered.
Either way, I am no comic artist so it's up to the individual to decide.
Best of luck with your project!
I use both buttons. I don't need the "Post Reply" button though, if that matters.
I'd say, don't delete the "Reply to Post". What militates FOR removing it anyways?

Can you please give us more details? You fill in all necessary things and nothing happens when you click submit? Or is there an error message?
What browser are you using? People using Internet Explorer experience some bugs with the art portal. Did you try another browser yet?

This one looks pretty promising and I love the colors. Unfortunately the photo doesn't look like it's doing your art justice. Is there any way to photograph it in a room with more light? Or probably take an additional lamp from another room while you are taking photos?
Apart from that documenting part all of your drawings are really nice and interesting to look at of course. I am looking forward to see more.

Lol cool idea Jonny. I think you should have carved a white clock face while sparing the hands so they are green, though.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope I get to back to actually realizing more of these ideas. :P
I thought I could just dump the drawings I have done for JackDGreatest's "The Weekly Color" here, in order to dust off my art thread. Thanks for the activity Jack it made me actually draw something again.
First one: Green (it's a bit blurry, but it was a quick one, so no refining)
If you are not scouted just upload your art the correct time and then post a link here in this thread.

Well, I see the irony in a campaign that aims to generate more jobs is asking for "free work". But the article pretty much juggles with facts and terms to make it sound much worse than it is. It's actually just a simple contest. You get no pay, if you win the rights go to the people holding the contest and if you loose your time is lost. Much ado about nothing.
