Interesting how you incorporated the thumbnail, Decky. Looking forward to see it finished.
Dunno if this even qualifies as WIP, but let's just say it's my idea:

The mobile version is completely accessible even.
I think the partial blackout is more than ok. There are many sites that would be affected by SOPA which don't participate at all.

I really like the style you've got going but I'm getting a bit bored with it. I've seen about every woman there is to be drawn in that style if you get what I mean. And it's not really a phase/project either; it's just everything you do is basically the same drawing. Now, I don't think you should definitely try to change your style or anything, but I'd love it if you could maybe have characters interact with each other or with object, or draw an entire scene instead of just one character floating in the void. On that note, this last one is a move in the right direction, but I'd like to see you take it a bit further.
so yeah... guess that did sound like whining eh? Anyways, I love your stuff, just getting a bit bored with it.
I really disagree here. There is nothing wrong with having a recognizable and expressive style. And there is also nothing wrong with starting an experimental thread with something one draws best or even is famous for, like BizarroJoe is with his girls. After all, Joe has proven many times that he can draw almost every content, that anyone can think of.
I didn't want to take this into a long discussion, since that's not the purpose of the thread, but I couldn't let this remark go unchallenged.
... But... This is not what I was asking for.
I was asking for information about those one-panelled sexy gag comics... I mean, is there an specific name for them? I've tried surfing the net about those, but, apart from some blogs, I have not found that much. And what about the authors? People of the likes of Robert Lassalvy, Kiraz, Bill Ward, M. Fornari, Enrich...
I couldn't find anything more specific than the general term "single panel comic", but nothing that hints at sexy comics explicitly. Maybe that's a niche for incredible fame and richness, who knows? :P
As for the actual art (last but not least), I really like what we are seeing so far. Especially the barbarian and lizardman designs. It would be great if you inked the monster hunter beast some time too.
Btw, Am I the only one who is reminded of Penos(NSFW) by that one?
I have sincere respect for you making that decision.

rpg style
The description is a little sparse about the gameplay. I mean it's pretty hard for people outside of NG to get what kind of game it is.
Everyone should also review the game, to get it somewhat high in the iTunes stats.
Oh and I just purchased it, of course!
I think you are more after a famous artist, aren't you? I remembered a rather well known painting with a hanging violin by William Harnett so I googled him and found some more, like a bugle or a trumpet. So I think you should check him out and see if that is what you are looking for. Generally, musical instruments seem to be pretty unusual as primary subject for a painting, because that is what Harnett used to do, painting still lifes of objects that other artists didn't paint usually.
For your next exam, I recommend making sure you can find some references before you decide for a subject. Could you still switch if you can't find a proper artist or would you be in trouble?
even though it's not really my business lol

You should consider it, but it really looks good already. I especially like the creature design and the varying colors you used for the shading.

It's difficult to see some parts, but you already said you will darken it all around so I think it won't be a problem. The only thing that strikes me is the hair in the neck area. It just looks a little bit rougher than the otherwise very realistic drawing. I can't exactly tell you why, but it's really the only part that stands out somehow. Then again it looks ok when you zoom in in the hi-rez version.

A lot of people here in newgrounds develop games with a design like that.
Thank you so much guys, I am waiting for answers.
=D
This particular game looks like the graphics have been done by editing actual photos. So you could try to acquire royalty free stock photos for the scenes you need or take the photos yourself and then edit them in programs like Photoshop or as a free alternative Gimp.
Similar games have been done by drawing the scenes from scratch in different art programs. The most popular being Photoshop again. This for example has been done by NG artists: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/57 2817
You can find a list of free art programs here.
Good luck!

You missed the point Squidbit. She did not ask someone to type three words for her. In fact that's exactly what she did not want. Read this one more time:

I can't really offer anything except for credit for the font
Nae gave the advice to use a font and work on it on herself. That means modifying an existing font to get the desired logo.
Everybody can now jump on the "Art Forum is snobbish" bandwagon again, but the truth is, Nae was trying to help rather than letting this thread die like many other similar ones do regularly. But I will keep in mind that advice is not welcome in "i want free stuff" threads.
As for the guitar thing. It's really only the OP's business what she spends her money on. I would also rather save up for that guitar if I was in her position.
I have no idea what exactly has to be done.... but I would be willing to help if I can.
My pipeline name is Luwano.

Great whore thread so far! I bet BizarroJoe would be proud.
I would love to see a dinosaur with a top hat please.

Looks great! I like the different markings and fur colors on the head, you should consider adding some on the back or legs too. But yeah, it looks pretty finished.
And cool, as per usual.
Sorry for double post. I just saw there is shading, but it's almost not noticable on some parts. I should have looked closer lol. But there should be bigger shades to suggest the form of his body, head, legs etc. Right now they look a bit flat.

Also, you wouldn't happen to know how to upload .tif files, would you? I feel like uploading the .jpg files is lowering the quality a bit more than I'm happy with.
It's not possible to upload tif images to the forum. So you could upload a jpg here and then link to a higher quality tif that you uploaded somewhere else. But I think the quality is good enough on this one.
I think your art is good too. The lines could use some cleaning, they seem a bit sketchy the way they are. I see you did some shading between his hair and head, so you could apply shading to the rest of the pic as well. The magic "flame" thingy above his hand bothers me tiny little bit. Its style seems to clash with the style of the character. I mean the flame is formed well and stuff, but it doesn't really fit with the rest of the pic.
But overall it looks nice so far, it would be great if you kept posting progress if you continue with it.

While I have never done such a commission myself, I am pretty sure it depends on what kind of drawing you are going to do. Will it be black & white or color? I assume it will be a realistic one, rather than an avatar or caricature, right? I think more information will make it easier for the experienced artists around to give you a proper estimation for a price. It also depends how much time you expect to spend on it and probably if the commissioner is a good friend or not.
My connection to server has closed and I can't get back in.
Also, BUMP.

Except for calling it by date only.
Looking forward for 2012 on NG of course. Let's see if the redesign is not just the biggest hoax in internet history.
jk I am sure it will be worth the wait.

Now that you mention it, I would of course like to see a dinosaur with a top hat drawn by you someday. But generally I like how you draw birds or for example that beaked predator. So any birdish drawings would be much appreciated.
Good luck with this ambitious project!
Most likely an instant candidate for best art thread 2012, amirite?
I don't think you offended anyone. It's just generally difficult to find someone to join such a project.
To be honest, your chances are much higher, if you post more of your own designs or sketches and get tips from other people. And maybe someone even picks it up and adds to it. At the moment, it seems very unlikely that someone will do it, seeing as nobody posted yet. It's all about giving others an incentive to join in. There is none yet unfortunately.
A canary with black shades, that is whistling.

I am quite happy with the ties, it's damn hard to decide for one user anyways.
And thanks Jonny, for hosting these glamorous awards.
Congrats everyone!
Welcome to the forum then!
Now that (I hope that) I got what you want, I can see where you are coming from. Getting inspired by other artists' interpretations can result in pretty interesting concepts.
I can also understand why you don't want to give too many details, to avoid restrictions on creativity. BUT you might need to first inspire other artists with your idea. If they don't "catch fire" from your description or sketches, they are less likely to start their own designs.
I don't want to come across all negative, I just think more examples could help your project. The hexagon ball thing looks like a nice idea and it's something people can build upon. Of course, if you feel like not showing more of your own designs to let others think of their own, you could always share some other details. Like the setting of the story, the "style" of the machines or generally the technology level.
Finally I don't want to make you expect too much, the forums are slow due to the new year's day. And generally it's not easy to find someone to join such an ambitious project straight away.
Either way, good luck with your project!
