Also, feel free to discuss anything on the topic of Pico Day Art
Last year some people used "picoday2012" and over the years some people used "picoday" with and without the year attached. Might be worth asking Tom about it.

It's really hard to find someone who will put in the time and dedication. You are talking about a longterm project, so it's normal that people hesitate.
Have you tried browsing the Collabinator?
I usually say providing more details could help your search, but I'm not sure here.
Good luck finding someone.

I am really curious how the other 55 contribute.
Although it's not for me, I am looking forward to the outcome.
Closest thing to practice I did in ages. Thanks, Felis.
Great to see you posting art again. Love the tortoise and crocodile pics. Care to explain the political background for these caricatures?
Also: WooO patterns!

Maybe if you changed the background to a sunny park or beach scene then it'd be better. Also, my fault for not saying this earlier, but there will be a display below each image that'll state the artists name, so no need to sign it.
Well it's ultimately your decision when it's accepted, but I gotta note that it wouldn't make much sense if he meditated while floating in a park or on a beach. Medititating + all those stuff flying around him is kinda a psychedelic thing referencing the "Summer of Love" era. So with that in mind, maybe it would be sufficient if the background had a more "summer-like" color scheme (warm colors; like reds, oranges and yellows) to bring the idea across? I'm just thinking loud here. Of course it would be good to hear what Mabelma thinks, too.
By the way, I hope I can come up with something and join in.
Sorry for bumping this out of its grave. I know Drawception is not a thing anymore, but Lintire was kind enough to finish the last remaining friend game I had started. Gotta blame myself, since Madness is not really an original start for a game.
There is however, one more game someone else started (creepyboy maybe?):

It's at 4 of 6, so if anybody would like to finish this, we had everything done.

The theme is more minimalistic than anything, and non-melancholy. If you're interested in negotiating, hit me up through PM or something. Thanks!
Could you describe what you are looing for exactly? "Minimalistic" is a bit general. The idea is, that you interest artists in your request. So the more info you can give, the higher your chances are, that someone will be interested.
You can also check the collabinator. If you are a supporter or if you have uploaded content to NG yet, you can even post your own request there.
For all you euro-folks, if you check ebay every once in a while, there are some more cintiq auctions going on relatively often. This same model got sold for 451â'¬ today in german ebay without a dead line of pixels. Of course, you won't get one for 200â'¬ that is fully functional though.

The Wacom Bamboo is a good starter tablet. If you add about 30$ to your 200$ price range you get the Intous5 touch S.
Apart from Wacom, Monoprice offers a range of cheaper tablets, that have a good reputation. You can find them in several online stores or on http://www.monoprice.com/
At 3/15/13 04:00 PM, pluggedin wrote: Hi All,
This is my first post on Newgrounds so a big HELLO to everyone.
I am currently creating graphics for a HTML5 based game. Some of the graphics in the game need to grow in size so I made them the largest size they needed to been. Unfortunately they look rubbish when they are small and if I made them smaller I get the same problem when they are big. Has anyone come across this problem and is there a solution? I really don't know what to do next.
The graphics that need to grow are simple shapes with an outline. As they grow the outline flickers until it gets bigger. I have had to made the outline thicker to try to compensate for this. It helps a bit but still looks shoddy.
If anyone knows how to fix this or has any ideas that I could try I would be very grateful.
Thank you
You could have a small and a big version. For example, you use the small graphic version when the item is small, then you have the growing "animation" and when that's done it gets replaced by the big version of the graphic.

Me too. But I still see an occassional 2013 (or generally post-redesign) submission without an icon.
Today I was checking stuff under judgement and when I was on the game / movie's page it didn't show me an icon in the box where I can edit it, but it had an icon when I checked it in the under judgement section.
I uploaded an icon for a movie, but then I noticed there has already been an icon when I checked the under judgement section that I had left open in another tab before.
Now, some icons have definitely changed (I assume some icon mod uploaded new ones) and when I check the submission's page I can see that new one too in that little box reading "edit".
Anybody else noticed something? Is somebody tackling all the under judgement submissions as they come?
I hope somebody gets what I'm babbling about. lol

I was wondering if any of you can tell me a bit more on flex printing as opposed to digital printing techniques. I am currently negotiating with a online webshop to sell some of my designs, but they only offer flex printing. As far as I know flex printing is not suited for gradients of colors. Also I believe that flex printing requires vector designs in .svg, .ai, .eps formats. Is this true? is a .PNG file not fitted for flex printing?
actually I know and understand very little about flex printing on shirts and what this entails. What are the limitations and what is possible. If I import .psd or.PNG files into adobe illustrator it fucks the picture up quite badly, why is that?
I am trying to research it, but thought I might ask this here as well
thx
I once wanted to print something on my hoodie and they told me flex print only allowed 4 colors at their place. I just looked up an online store and they only allow 3 colors. So I guess it's not something suited for full color PNGs.
If you import PNGs to illustrator, I assume it automatically renders them into vector based images, thus resulting in a quality loss. Lucky or Nae would know a lot more about this I guess.
You should ask the print shop for details anyways, but if you uploaded or linked an example design, people can mich easier help you. Or is it something we can find in your thread already?
I have nothing of value to add here, but I just wanted to say that I like your art so far a lot. Keep it coming! :D
You mentioned that the last two are redesigns of video game characters. Mind to share which game? Or is it something you are working on, that is not released yet?

dude lol! fuck tracing, I do that (outer lines) and I am not ashamed of it at all.
Well you should probably rethink your attitude. Maybe this is partly why some of your pics don't look homogenous, but more like a collage of stuff with different angle / perspective sometimes. Tracing is also frowned upon usually.

Being scouted means that your art has been approved by another artist so it will now appear in the art portal.

Looking forward to your stuff again. There's almost so much variety. Care to explain what the task was for this Red-riding Hood piece?
Anyway, Round 2, here we go
Welcome back!

Kinda diggin' it. Thanks for sharing, EJR!
It's awesome: direct image sharing, audio sharing, video chat that you can resize, drawing in chat and more.
Also, the admin of viptopia offered to create a permanent room for us, if we wanna join.
EJR suggested VIPtopia, so we are currently trying it, since TinyChat was pretty silent.

Room name is NG Art test (no direct link sorry). You can log in as guest as well.

Did the Intous4 NEVER work? Or did it work for a short time after you got it? If it never worked, it could be a driver issue. If it stopped working after a while the cable could be broken. (Unless you deinstalled the driver). If you use Windows though, the cursor should move even without the correct driver, because of Windows default drivers that make it usable as a mouse at least.

You could try reading some posts in the Collabinator to see if you can find someone that offers his art and PM them:
http://www.newgrounds.com/collab/browse/musician/artist/1
Or seeing as you have already submitted flash to NG you should be able to post an entry yourself. Good luck.

You could check the Collabinator for available artists and PM some of them. I set the dropdown menus accordingly for you here. I assumed "Writer" is the most appropriate description of your role here. Good luck.
Thank you very much Sabtastic! Makes me miss @BizarroJoe even more. (Hoping the notifying feature works and brings him back :P).
That final picture is brilliant. If you clean it up, please post it in the portal.
