I was hoping my friends would be wrong when he said the combat is worse than New Vegas, but if it is just the same then I have incentive to buy it, unless I am wrong, I am looking for a more "action" version of fallout.

But if Fallout 3 is as better as you guys say it is, I'd like to know why,because to be honest here its not as easy a decision than Morrowind or Oblivion, there's only a two year difference and both are almost the same game.

As of now I might be leaning more towards Metro 2033 unless someone can point out any flaws it has.

So recently my disc of New Vegas has become broken and although normally this would piss me off, but after my second play-through It was getting a little repetitive before the game broke, and as much as I would like to get a new one, I only care to do so due to the amount of work I put into my 2nd character.

So I had a great time playing the game, it was a nice throw-back to my favorite game (Oblivion) but I would like to play a new game. I like the many RPG elements to the game but at times it felt like you had to go find a fight, and even then the fights are often too short

I like the atmosphere of the post-apocalyptic games, but what was lacking in FNV was the amount of stealth and actual danger to it, I almost never really died in the game and sometimes there were times were I could play for two hours with-out there being a fight.

As of now I have 3 possible replacements, of these three which does you NG feel is the best game?

-Metro 2033
-Bioshock
-Fallout 3 (I am really not in the mood to play another Sand-box game, plus I heard the combat was not a good a FNV)

There are a few gems and keep in mind not all of these shows have to feature immature sluts who only bitch and moan such as Man Vs Wild, Nitro Circus, Man Vs Food, and of course my two favorite: Rob and Big, VERY close runner up is Pawn Stars.

Anyway, in response to the topic, there are good movies being made today OP. You're just generalizing. Have you even seen "The Hurt Locker"? Very good movie imo.

A very good film, although powerful and gives good insight to the current war it is not the best War on Terror Movie, but at the same time it technically is. For me the best is Restrepo, however given that it's a documentary we really can't say that it is a better movie, because it is the real deal.

But Hurt Locker is all fictional and everything on the film is fake, so in the end of the day it's a good portrayal of the War, you can't pretend real life. So If I was asked what's my favorite movie about the war on terror, I'd say Hurt Locker, but in reality its really Restrepo that is the more powerful of the two, because well its all real so its almost cheating.

The movies I really like are the realistic ones, even if they aren't necessarily sound or what not. Unless they made the movies exist in a parallel universe where emotions do not exist then fine those are the movies we have today and they do a damn fine job.

The reason for liking them is because for the curious person you're question is answered, what was Vietnam like? Watch the two movies I listed to get a better perspective, while they are good and at times less accurate, it's better than commando with Arnie. It gives you an in-depth look into something and provides you a chance of immersion, so that you get caught up in the film.

And I like movies where they shake things up a bit or offer some shock value, like when main characters die, a little more common now-a-days, but still always a shock compared to today where the main character can never die.

Plus when characters are fleshed out you have more of an attachment to them, rather than the brunette whose only characteristic is her tits (most modern action movies with "strong" female love-interests, Meagan Fox can't act). I would never watch a movie and expect to like it if the main character doesn't connect with me.

How can I, his horrible and painful moments don't make me care, because it's like watching a total stranger getting shot, its hard to watch, but not mentally distrubing because you're not they're to actually witness it, so with no real emotion on our part, its up to the character to display them, and if he can't do that, then the scene has no power or feel to it.

I feel the same way, I think more people care about Nostalgia than they do for actual what's in front of them, most of those movies are just as bad or similar as the ones we have today.

And Im pretty selective, If a movie wants to be all action, then if thats the purpose I can't really critique on being one. My problem is, is that is all we have know. There are less movies that try to address things outside of car chases and explosions. I like the movies where you know a character can be a bad ass without showing it (Snatch) that shows work put in to produce that effect.

Meanwhile today there's hardly any words and more action. Bourne kills a max of 10 guys in the whole trilogy, that to me is believable and realistic in a movie that attempts to be. My problem goes out further when you reboot James Bond to make it more believable and realistic yet he still kills 30 some-what henchman in a span of 2 movies. And some points still don't make much sense in those movies as well.

It's not to say I hate every and each movie that came out since I was born, far from it. I just think It's easier to pick movies that I like back before my time. I mean for God's Sake they killed one of my favorite movie characters in the unnecessary remake that was the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I'm didn't even say the last 20 years, I said in the 60's to 70's there were better movies, how you guys come up with those conclusions is beyond me.

And while those movies might seem bad to me, Its not fact all opinion, I just gave mine to see if anyone agrees. And guys lets be real no one clicks on threads without attention grabbing titles, after all the most viewed threads are the ones that saying anything about sex in them.

Guys Im 16, and although there are shitty movies out there, here are the few that I liked from the 2000's.

-District 9
-Saving Pvt Ryan
-LoTR trilogy
-Bourne trilogy
-Children of Men( this one I especially liked)

All Im saying is, it's easier to pick out great movies from the 60's than it is to do in this last decade.

Good God I can not begin to express how much today's movie's just piss me off. The plot is ridiculousness, the characters are one-dimensional, and they're trying so hard to basically make video game cut scenes now a days. Can anything remain non-combustible in a Michael Bay movie, not in our life time.

Most annoying of all I really only learned about this, this year. I got a torrent and after watching classic movies from the 60's and plus (the Good, the Bad, the Ugly/Apocalypse Now/ Deer Hunter) It just starts to get annoying how the quality in movies today compare. The last movie I actually enjoyed last year was Inception, and hey at least ithas a plot, albeit it doesn't make sense.

Is there any reason why they decided to just make movies a piss-fest, besides to entertain groups of 15 year olds who are only interested in the skirt next to him. So who do they think they're fooling, we all know its for the money, but can you at least make them better, to get more money.

Its shit like this that makes me proud to have a torrent as a "FUCK YOU" to these corporations, although that doesn't mean I won't go to the theaters, Super 8 looks good and Spielberg is one of the only decent directors who don't put out piles of shit to watch.

So thoughts, Am I just rambling, have movies lost their touch?

Ehh there was no problem for me, but mostly because it was my first rpg. Still I haven't played a better game yet, except for FNV. And honestly, it was never that easy, most of the time you still had difficult areas or quests due to the amount of enemies you'd face.
