He wasn't being THAT arrogant, the thing that bugged me that I didn't post in the thread about is $40... If you were a professional background artist that would provide the client 1-2 hours of work maybe, certainly not the amount of work they wanted. So they were being pretty unrealistic then, but in saying that we get these threads all the time and you shouldn't make a big deal about it... A new retarded free request will arrive next week I'm sure.

Response to: Any Storyboarding artists? Posted January 26th, 2013 in Art

At 1/26/13 02:30 PM, hop

a) check out http://storyboardsecrets.com/blog/ for tips, also Adventure Time's old storyboards are free online, same as spongebob look em up for reference!

b) Toon boom storyboard pro is what i use for commercial projects, its extremely easy , straight forward and exports every way you want it to from mov png to pdfs with the drawings converted to storyboard sheets. So i highly recommend it
Have fun!

with that last request thread I have a question....
Has anyone EVER done a drawing or heard of someone doing a drawing for a girl who was in the friends zone/only knows him online previously but now is MADLY in love with them... I mean dont get me wrong I've done it, and the farthest I got was making out with thanks to a drawing for a girl, but it wasn't the soul reason she wanted to go out with me. I'm like really curious if a girl would ever/has ever went OH GOD THAT DRAWING IS AMAZING LETS HOOK UP

I dont think it's happened in the history of ever BUT YOU NEVER KNOW
Thoughts, personal experiences?

what it could be is the scrolly wheel on the tablet. try CAREFULLY cleaning it... with the right click you couldd temporarily overwrite it by disabling right clicking when flash is open in the wacom settings. Otherwise yeah what Sockembop said

The only thing that concerns me is that I tried the clay method but it turned out to look like a deformed blob- I couldn't get the details exact (I think I'm doing it wrong, and/or maybe I have to have the right tools. Maybe it's just a matter of having good observation skills, or maybe it's the fact that I'm not a sculptor. Do you have any tips on sculpting character heads?? I think it would help me very much if I could get it right. Thanks!

I think the best way for you to learn for where you wanna go with this is the Preston Blair animation book, a lot of these look like the same construction method has his one. It may look colorful and childish, but its quite challenging in the beginning for sculpting things(especially cartoons) in 3d

If you can get your hands on clay I suggest sculpting out your character to literally get a feel for it in 3D space. This could help you understand the shapes better.

Yeah what he said, treat the nose and ears like 3d cylinders and compare the size of head parts to each other and it will be a lot easier to work on the character. practice breaking real life objects into 3d objects and seeing trough them instead of picturing them flat helps a lot too. Though the more you draw the character the less and less you'll think about it, you'll eventually stop worrying about it entirely

I really quite like this one. There seems to be something more 'confident' about the lines themselves in this picture (don't know why).

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with those lines under the eyes though.

lol thanks bro, yeah i agree on the eye thing
