There is a line of dead pixels right in the center of the screen so I am thinking of sending it back. My problem is whenever I switch back to my intuos 4 I have the greatest difficulty drawing. It is like I can't do it and my mind has switched to drawing with the cintiq. Should I just force myself to get used to using the intuos again?
I guess, I'd definitely recommend sending back the cintiq now since that line is only gonna get progressively worse. I think its a lcd leak, happened on my macbook's screen the same way. Send it back while you can get your money back, and save a bit for another cintiq :P I got that model, its got the same sensitivity as the intuos 4 but yeah its way bettter

And whenever I got an art piece in mind, they tend to be simple and rough as I'm satisfied as long as I can bring out the message.
You should finish tho since i have no idea what this message is meant to be

even though you suck at Terraria (and boardgame), your art shines through that major personal flaw which you have.

I zoned out halfway trough, but again you improve the most by practise , there are no limitations to what you can achieve... unless you're only practising how to do sprites tutorials. I did pixel art for the first time this year and i found it a lot easier than before, just because i had a lot of practise on paper beforehand drawing the stuff i was trying to make into 64*64 sprites... It wasnt easy to do sprites but if you practise doing traditional concepts of the sprites you wanna develop more and then go into photoshop with the 1 pixel brush you'll make a lot nicer of a result i feel.
Also do life drawing, construction training but thats a more overall thing which you should be doing anyway no matter which type of art you want to go into
and I promise not to bug Jam with terraria untill she finishes hers lol

I am making a game. I have an incredible story written (I am a screenwriter for film. This is my first game) and some awesome, unique game mechanic ideas. I need artists to come up with some concept work.
there are so many writers begging for animators or coders to 'flesh out' their special story, if you're a halfway decent animator or coder chances are you have a ton of left over projects you can flesh out at any point. Somehow I dont value the 'idea man' role as a valuable one , the only way to prove yourself i'd say is to actually post some content be it story or game bible or whatever. Empty words dont fly well will most artists
So to be harsh OP's art is terrible, like 12yo terrible like he states. I would strongly advice against his dreams of becoming a graphic artist. he should atleast be better now (he's 21). Its nice to be nice, but I am inclined to burst his bubble. its not ever gonna work out.
