Yep, this has indeed been a slow week.

Technically this update was a 6.5 day period since the last update occured at midnight between Sat/Sun last time and occured at noon Sat this time, so Afro and DrJam should be on this list since they averaged over 75 points per 24 hour period. Perhaps it would be easier if the updates were all done at the same time of day on the same day of the week. Either way, do it whenever you feel convenient.

I don't think anybody ever bothered to point it out, but this also seems a bit outdated since the bolding no longer occurs and almost nobody reaches 1000 a week, nor were they underlined when it did occur during clock week.

I have also noticed reviews being cleared, then deleted, but up to this point, I haven't seen any blatently abusive ones where this has happened. The posters in the Rage thread can sometimes be excessive and overzealous in pointing out reviews that might be abusive, but still that's no excuse to con people out of whistle points. I'm sure the Rage thread makes the mods' jobs much easier than trying to find the abusive ones themselves, or hearing tons of complaints from the authors or whatnot.

I already noticed this and pointed it out earlier in the Rage thread. The current system is definately far from perfect since a reviewer with many short pointless reviews could have them all deleted, but each review itself would not be abusive, so it could be cleared, then deleted when viewed in a different context, so I doubt its done purposely to keep people from getting points, which would discourage all flagging in general. Perhaps some improvements might be to keep a record of all who marked an entry abusive and reward the points back if its later found to be abusive, and to make a note if a mod has already cleared flags from a particular review.

Are you sure? The guy had about 620 reviews and now he has 572 reviews.

No, just because it is deleted does not mean you get the whistle point. If a review mod came upon his reviews while looking at the submission instead of the user page, it would not seem abusive, so the flags would be cleared. However, if another mod or the same mod later went to his userpage and deleted the reviews, the flags that were initially cleared would still be negative for you if you were one of the first to flag and got cleared. I was watching the same review go up to 0/5 in some instances, than back to 0/0, and later to 0/3 and deleted. So in this case the first 5 would receive negative and the last 3 receive positive points.

I did better than I thought, thanks to a more active Clock Day than expected. I originally expected only 1000 for the week, then 200/day, and even though I didn't reach the third goal of 2000, it was still good to reach top 50 again. Shouldn't have slept on clock day :( Oh well, lol.

I'm up to 1150 now, so that's 75 per hour in the last 2 hours. Gonna try to reach 1400 by the end of tonight for 200+ BP/day this week. There will probably be 1500 entries today alone.

I got about 3 and a half hours of sleep today, from about 2 AM to 5:30 AM, still missed nearly 200 entries for some reason >:(

The page views listing is not accurate since there are so many people on the site right now, it lags. One minute, an entry has 3 views, then jumps to about 150 2 seconds later. When it says like 190 views, chances are it's already reached the 200 vote mark.

Also, it seems the label is rather arbitrary since most entries never have the Verge of Death label before getting blammed, while others can have the label and then be protected. It would be helpful if an admin would help clarify the specific conditions for having this label on an entry.

I just looked through the pages of B/P 51+, and yep, you're definately right. Guess I was away from BP for much longer than I thought, closer to 2 years, which incidentally seemed to be the busiest time for NG (150+ a day). In 2003, the top pace was around 75ish, lol. So THAT's how everyone shot up in BP.

At this rate, it'll still take you a little over 3 months to reach 13 VP. It's amazing how slow it changes once you hit EGSC. Took me forever to reach 12.

True, I missed BP for over a year and now I'm crawling back to top 50 BP again. It's interesting to see how much the portal changed during that time though, much more saves than blams now, and 50 BP a day used to be amazing then, but now 100 a day is even possible.

Yea, that really blows. Once you miss it, it's gone forever. I still regret missing like 30 deposits or so since my signup, but that's nothing compared to some of you, lol.

Sorry to see you quitting, Afro. I would have to agree that the overall quality of mods have declined over the years. There is simply no reason to have like 50 mods when 10 or 15 good ones would do. On the Wi/Ht, it seems that mods eventually get tired of seeing the same beginner questions over and over again, but the thing is: being a mod is a job, rather than status or power. If you're tired of it, then don't be a mod, or at least let another one handle it. If this is gonna continue, it's better to let everyone from level 10 on be a mod, so those who enjoy the site can help clean it up. Abusers can lose their account.

I don't see why everyone is trying to get LittleMissVixen's account either. Yes, it's a higher level/BP/VP whatever, but you didn't earn it and people know you didn't earn it, so even if you take that account to #1, it's still not your work. Asking probably won't get you the account anyway. LMV, since you have some decent flashes there, it's sad to see you go, but at least give it to someone you trust.

Congratulations to Sentio on reaching EGSC, and to Slash for the #1 pace this week. I'm slowly losing the motivation to keep B/Ping as each week passes, first time under 50/day for a while, oh well.

lol, the good old days when 5000 BP put you on the top 50, and every EG private and above could be identified and tracked... I was ranked 35 with just 20000 bp, and a year of inactivity brought it down to 125. Now people are doubling or even tripling the EGSC requirement. Now if only the final rank was raised after the site overhaul...
