Hello, Newgrounds. I've been working on some designs and some art assets and animations for a game I've been wanting to make. The working title of the game is called BLOK. A very short, and very simple platformer game about a lone block that spontaneously grows arms and legs, then sets off on a journey to find his place in the universe. I've been keeping record of my progress in development diaries on my Newgrounds profile and plan to continue those until release, so if you're interested, give those a quick look.

I've been doing artwork for games and book covers on a freelance basis for a good year now, but I've never dipped my toe into animation until just recently. The animation work I've done for the game so far has been fairly competent, and I have experience in making static art assets for games, so I believe I'm at a level where I can start making competent looking games. The problem is that I have no experience in programming and very little in actual level design. That's where you'd come in. The programmer.

I don't want this game to be made with a dictatorship. I want both of us to work together as equals to achieve something we're both proud of. The first thing we'd do is get a proper prototype up and running. Then once we have all the basic controls and mechanics done, we'd start designing the actual in-game levels.

I've been animating and creating the assets in flash cs5.5 for the past two days, and I need somebody who can program in AS2, preferably. If you want to see the progress I've made thus far, along with the basic character animation, take a look at my development diaries.

Here is the work that I've done.

I'm nearly always available to do work, so if you want a commission of my work, send me a description of what you want shown in the piece, then we can discuss price. I'll be charging anywhere from 15-30 USD for each piece. Keep in mind that these will be done digitally and you will not receive a physical copy of the work. I'll simply send you the hi-res image file, via email.

Let me break down the basic process of this transaction.

1. You send me a description of what you want depicted in the piece, via email.
2. I quickly jot down a very rough representation of what the final piece may look like so that we may agree upon the basic layout of the piece.
3. You pay me the requested amount of money via PayPal.
4.Once I receive your money I will begin to bring your commission to a more finished look. This may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days. It really depends on how complex your description is.
5. Upon finishing the commission, I will send you the image via email.

I haven't animated in quite awhile so I'm a little lost. I plan on collaborating with people, here on this site, so I wonder which version of flash would be best for that. Does it matter even? I think I remember people having trouble with file formats in certain collabs I was a part of. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

At least your victim doesn't have to live with the scars of being a victim. That can be tantamount to ending a life, just with a living victim, being trapped with the torment.

Yeah, but you didn't mention how I was murdered. The murder could be just a quick stab in the heart, in which case I'd be dead instantly. With rape, you gotta suffer for the rest of your life with memories of the rape.

You do realize that once you've been raped, you can think about things other than rape right? Painful, sometimes traumatizing memories are present in plenty of people. I'd go as far to say most people. Does that really make their whole life unenjoyable?

Rape involves having to walk around every day knowing what was done to you. It seems worse for you to have to think about a rape, rather than be murdered and not think about it.

Rape doesn't ruin your life. You can still enjoy life. Once you're dead, your done, you don't get another chance to enjoy anything, ever.

I believe murder is much worse. Of course rape is still terrible, but it's not an ending of a life, however.
I have also noticed an overwhelming amount of people use the term "Rape Survivor". I have a problem with this term. Every rape victim survives rape. Rape isn't lethal. Sometimes murder is incorparated into or after rape, but rape, itself, does not include the ending of a life.
