Response to: My headphones Posted December 23rd, 2013 in General

I don't understand how people go through headphones so quickly.

I coddle my electronics.

I see my friends abuse the wires of their HPs and wonder why they stop working. Then try to use them as speakers, turning them all the way up to show off how loud they are.

I wonder why they keep breaking.

Response to: About computer audio Posted December 11th, 2013 in General

Err, headphones? At max volume? Yikes.

When I have my headphones plugged in, I rarely put the volume on the computer above 10/100.

I -think- you have a hearing problem~ Or your computer has issues.

The closest I've come to cheating on somebody, is when a partner of mine didn't -quite- understand that we were no longer a thing when we broke up, and they saw me flirting in town.

$15.00 an hour is a ridiculous number to rally around, and will only cause people to laugh at your cause.

Anyway, this should be interesting~

Response to: The Forbidden Game Posted December 2nd, 2013 in Video Games

We got our first computer when I was two... And the rest is history~

I remember my older sister got GTA III, and I ended up playing a bit of that. Parents always wagged their fingers at it when swears and such came up, but not much else.

I really got into an mmo later on, and arguably it was the most sexual and violent game I was involved in, oddly enough. Parents didn't care as it was a Star Wars title.

The only game I was ever barred from was... The Godfather. We had a copy of it lying around that I believe my older brother and my father played, and I tried it out. I got in trouble at the time, and my mother threatened me with a wooden spoon if I touched that gam again. Ouchies.

Really? Fuck you.

But on the topic, there are a lot of retarded people who use abortion as birth control. Like, their doctor tells them they might be infertile, so they think that's their free ticket for bareback sex with everyone. Suddenly, they start to panic when they get pregnant- but whose fault is that?

Then again, nobody should be forced to carry a baby, no matter how horrible they are.

And regarding people who abort because there's a possibility there will be a defect/disorder, that's really iffy. I know plenty of people who were pretty much guaranteed to come out with horrible defects, but were fine.

But then, you see those people who -did- come out with terrible defects and disorders, who can't even talk or function, and you wonder why their parents let them live. But that's just me, I guess.

Until I see better accuracy in those tests, can't say much about using it as a reason to get an abortion or not. But still, I see people who can't function and it makes you think.

Added note: people who protest outside of clinics and harass people are horrible. You're not going to get any laws changed by doing that.

Response to: Poetry Panic Posted November 26th, 2013 in Writing

I only have three things for you.

One: I've never written a poem that i didn't want to write. That is, i can't just sit down after being told to write a poem, and make a masterpiece. I need to want to make something meaningful.

Two: there's an expression that poetry is sitting down at a typewriter and bleeding. That's true for me: it's all emotion driven. For example, i sit down with a pad and pen, or my computer, and play music. Mostly rap that covers horrible topics: racism, equality, gay marriage, politics, education, blah, blah. I listen to the dame thing until it just gets to me- i feel the words burning into me heart, and i get angry enough to write a story about it in the form of stanzas in a poem. Even without music, just sit and pick a topic, any topic, and don't stop thinking about it and surrounding yourself with it until words flow.

Three: if you will be reading the poem, it's all about presentation. Where to put emphasis on words, what tone it will be read in, if it's a fast or a slow poem, if it's a happy reflective poem or an angry accusing poem- it all needs to be shown in the way you read it. Once you've made the poem, go back and italicize words, underline sentences, and just read it over and over until you really hear the mood and message you want that will draw people into your poem.

Hope this helps!

Did you pick your .9 up, and turn his abuse against him?

It's ridiculous how the police can just enforce laws.

I'm working on "gently feeding" info to the reader, like you mentioned. It's in the back of my head, I usually go back later and make sure things like that make sense.

And god, I drive people CRAZY with the way I switch tenses. I do it without even thinking- It's all meant to be in the present tense. I'll fix it in a bit.

I get whatcha mean by making sure they make sense.

And ya, I see what you mean by the male and female thing. Sort of did it on purpose, as that's how the character thinks. I haven't really opened up the main character at all in the short bit I put out, but if it still seems odd after I give her more depth, I'll change it up a bit.

Thanks!

Response to: Weird Stories from Parents Posted November 11th, 2013 in General

Apparently, when I was like 3, I was in one of those big playpen things at a mall, with a slide, jungle gym, everything. Another girl was standing on this platform on top of the slide with me, and we were yelling at each other for whatever reason. She pushed me, I stumbled and fell on my butt...

Allegedly, all I did was laugh, smile, and shove her down the slide as hard as I could. It was only like three feet off the ground, but still.

I was fun!

Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders? Posted November 10th, 2013 in Video Games

Does anybody remember playing any of the Kingdom Under Fire games? Personally, I've only played two of them- The Crusaders, and Circle Of Doom.

I remember Circle Of Doom to be an absolute rubbish third person BLEH. Granted, I never really gave it a chance.

Anyway, I always thought of KUF: The Crusaders to be an amazing game. I rented it when it first came out, and kept it for ages.

It was a unique game. Real-time tactics game at first, where you lead your large groups of allies to battle, positioning strategically. When your main character came into contact with the enemy, it brought you into a third person view, where you personally battle the enemy with your troops, and you could end a battle quickly by killing the leader of the enemy group. Once each mission was over, it had RPG elements where you increased the skill of your character and your officers, etc, etc.

Does anyone remember this fun little game? I remember it to be around the early 2000s, on the original Xbox.
