Response to: Prove to newgrounds we are worth it Posted November 24th, 2009 in Audio

Overall, your proposal is putting way too much faith in the users. To perfectly honest, the average newgrounds user isn't pumping out creative material, far from it. I think you underestimate how much users would take advantage of that. If the site were run that way we'd be overrun by spammers very quickly. We still are constantly fucked by groups like the duck division. The audio portal would be so full of junk no one could actually find the worthwhile artists.

Just sayn.

When did you first learn about Newgrounds?

2004

What do you most enjoy about the site?

The obscenity at first, then later the potential to share flash, music, art, etc.

Given one day at the reins of the site, what would you change, what would you fix?

Kill background ads, wide screen, and game features.

Is there anything you miss, that you'd like to see back? (I.E. Old Blam/Save Animations)

NG slowly is becoming more like a generic game site. Not totally, but every time something new happens. You lose a little bit of the awesome, mindless, gory, offensive genius that Newgrounds is. Its becoming less like: Everything by Everyone, and more like: Placid, Generic Things Sponsored by Game Websites.

The fifth in the series got an award and fp, but I still think the series deserves more recognition.

I'd love for someone to make a flash animation for my bands music. How do I go about asking animaters? do I just post on here asking for a collab?

Any help would be great, thanks

It'd be nice to hear a sampling of the music. Then you might get more interest. Are you willing to pay the animator for their services?

And just so you know, this wouldn't be a collab. You could find an animator in the forums, but most other communication after that would be through private messaging.

It would be a collab if you had many more people participating.

I'd be willing to help out with animating/artwork. I can't promise to everything myself art wise, seeing as I've got a lot on my plate at the moment. But if you tell me what you want, I can draw up a sample.

My guess would be yes.

I'd double check with Adobe before you make any accusations though. I was under the impression the education version just means you aren't allowed to make money off of it. I could be wrong.

Animals group together

Humans are the same as animals

Rights have to be limited when a system (which is acting as your guardian) is handling so many individuals (which are also minors) and also having to educate them.

Just because you can't walk out whenever you feel like doesn't make it a fascist system.

Response to: Require An Animator Will Be Paid Posted June 21st, 2009 in Game Development

I'd be interested. I don't have a lot of experience, but I feel like I could help you out with the odds and ends as far as art is concerned.

I am moderately skilled at animating human movement, and I can make backgrounds pretty effectively.

If this is for a movie, then you have to copy/paste/align it every time. Just make sure it looks good lined up perfectly. Use the properties panel to move it more exactly. (using x and y).

If its for a game, then this tutorial explains how make an infinitely looping scrolling background really easily.

And I dont no size to put it. one size I no that works is the base size 450 x 300 so does 196 x 130

can anybody help me out or am I screwed with just those to sizes??

Well, when you zoom in obviously the spirtes are going to look lower quality.

I'm not sure if that was the problem.

But it doesn't make sense that two sizes would look high quality and all others wouldn't. I would just make sure your proportions are the same as your stage size. You can do this by holding shift when you use the free-transform tool to re-shape your vcam.

This doesn't make sense! I really need some help. I really don't want to export at school.

Try cleaning out your hard-drive. I don't think your RAM is the problem.

If you delete some big unused files it might open up some space for your export. If your having continuous trouble with this look into an external hard-drive for your music, or any other large sized files.

The whole point is '5 Seconds'. If you make them longer there wouldn't really be a theme. And i don't think the problem was time to do them, we just needed better parts from different people. The parts themselves wouldn't have improved.

But the day isn't over yet.
