Response to: Voting System Overhaul Proposal Posted 2 weeks ago in NG News

The new voting system will be universal for all Portals (games, movies, audio, art).

Great news!

You will gain 2 XP for each vote, with a max of 10 XP daily.

I assumed that's how it is.

On weekends you will be able to log up to 20 XP daily.

Never keen on this idea, why would a weekend be more valuable then another day. the only day you could get 20XP was when you made an account and signed up for the news letter.

XP is logged instantly, no more five vote minimum requirement.

maybe having a tick box option for it to be deposited instantly as some users don't want to change icons but still vote?

All existing score data will be backed up but no longer used. Review scores will become the new existing score data.

Unsure how that will make things look, but will be interesting to see.

Users can only vote once on each piece of content and can edit that vote whenever they want.

Makes sense.

The score that shows in your review is the same score as your vote, there is just one location on the page to enter you score.

makes sense, why would you vote something low and review high (or the other way around)

You can hide your score or submit a review without a score (many people are anti-scoring).

Again will have to see how it looks.

As for my work not being up to scratch i have had quite a few people hire me to do work for them with no complainants and a few recommendations. I am sorry this has angered you in any way, you have my apology's.

You have created the same thread four times, the last thread was posted 12 days ago and who ever that user was is incorrect. If you wanted it to be seen you should post a reply in the original thread with an update or something noteworthy and not just a "bump".

It is good that you have recommendations and people have hired yourself.

You have not angered me, I am just trying to assist you to follow the rules on the BBS.

spamming the same picture in multiple different threads is not a good way of going about this, not only have you been told about "be careful of spamming" you have recreated an existing thread in the same forum, I would strongly suggest you either start your own art thread and work on your artwork or leave it until you are better. Not to mention asking people who can already draw to a higher standard then yourself for commissions.

spamming the same thread is childish if you "don't get your way" not to mention the lack of interest should be an obvious clue that your artwork is not up to scratch for someone to ask for a drawing.

Level 55, just 5 more to go... then i will wonder what i have done with my life.

Still no idea what the plan is for picoday, seen as its roughly a 12 hour trip, I would like to stay for a couple if not three weeks rather then a few hours or days. not to mention the costs involved. at this moment in time i am unsure as to make a solid commitment on "yes i will be there" or "no i wont".

Response to: Pricing artwork? Posted November 19th, 2014 in Art

From a marketing point of view. I was told by a very good sales person that you should always round up if possible. Nobody wants the change. make it a nice number to work with. $19 or $20 sounds much better compared to the $18.39.

I agree it is hard to value your own work... to little and people potentiality take advantage and use your time up. or too high and people shy away from paying.

Signed, limited edition things tend to go for more than just prints so keep that in mind when your selling them.

what i do is use a blurred edge brush, set flow down to 20 (changes depending on the size and what I'm doing)

and using the eye drop tool on the page i draw over the block colours, don't forget its not just a straight up gradient, make sure you add some form if needed.

Response to: 19 original drawings for sale Posted October 19th, 2014 in Art

Just a few things that strike me as off putting.

1 - You are selling art to other artists, might not be the best target audience.
2 - Your use of "original" is misleading as some of these are not original pictures, but are pieces that you have created.
3 - Have you taken shipping into account with your prices.
4 - Again see point one on "commissions"

The issue is that these pictures do no have a similar style, they all have very different styles so knowing what your skills are as an artist is also misleading.

I instantly picked up on the Aeriel pictures as i was talking about drawing her in a zombie concept for another newgrounds activity. (See attached picture)

It would be nice to know which ones were done from your own ideas/creativity and the ones referenced / based on existing pictures.

*i know its not identical but I would assume this zombie version is based on the original version*
