Well, obviously. He's not in it for free. MBDTF and Watch the Throne were two solid albums. Yeah, he's a twat but he makes good music.
Seems like Dortmund get an easy ride with some people. Definitely underdogs in a competition like the Champion's League, but hardly a small club. On the contrary, one of the richest in the world, with highest attendances and extremely profitable transfers - even if their hand is forced on occasion.
Yeah, I think they're like up to 8th in revenue or something like that. They'll get on alright, especially with Klopp at the helm. Will lose a few players but they've made a bit of money and will undoubtedly spend. Won't compete with Bayern Munich for a while though.
You know that England won't win any major tournament until all the deadwoods retire from international duty, don't you? I mean, they've got Terry, Gerrad, Ashley Cole, Rooney and (the injured) Lampard who are used to failures and underperformances.
I don't think Rooney or even Ashley Cole should be lumped into that. For one, Rooney isn't aging whatsoever and the reason he has so little success with England is because they don't play in a way that suites his style of play. Cole is no doubt a great left back and deserves credit.
Gerrard, Terry and Lampard though, I agree.
Written off all season, the champions league especially when we were 3-1 down in the first leg to Napoli. Underdogs from then on against Benfica, then Barca and tonight against Bayern. I don't care if we rode our luck, if it was 'undeserved' You need luck to win big and fuck me that was just incredible. Plus an English side beat the Germans on penalties, in their own yard. Hope that gives England for the Euros a bit of a boost. But yeah qweotghjJISEHJIDUHTIU
Yeah I don't agree with the whole 'negative tactics' stuff, I think that on the pitch Chelsea don't have the same quality as Barca and perhaps Bayern, but in regards to tactics they did what they had to do. Paid off in the end really, and I don't even think it was down to luck... you can only ride that for so long. Defended excellently throughout. ALSO if you don't give Drogba his two year contract then Roman deserves a slap.
As much as I hate Roman and Terry...
Congratulations Gagsy :)

And whatever the case, forgetting the idiotic FA rules, simple common sense says that was not a red- it wasn't dangerous, did not give City an unfair advantage through adverse means, did not obstruct the opposing player... it was a clean tackle, and that for me should never be a red in any situation. The FA rules are wrong if that is a red card.
I think the thing that should be frustrating Kompany (and City fans) the most is why he went in two-footed at all, when there was completely no need. He could have gone in with one foot and it would have been a simple tackle. As a professional he should know the risk of any two footed challenge, regardless of whether or not you get the ball. Whilst it was a clean tackle, if it did catch Nani in any way then it could have been a bad one.
Incredible, he managed to pass to an extra man against a knackered defence with his team at nearly 90% possession. Neither of those stats count for anything in that situation I'm afraid. It was still a poor mistake for the goal, and apparently if a keeper who made no mistakes had a poor game, that makes his game diabolical! :P
I don't agree with the idea that the keeper had a poor game, nor did Scholes! He made a couple of mistakes, but other than that he did what was in the script! He would have been told to go out and pass the ball around, which is exactly what he did. It's the same with Carrick, who gets so much stick from United fans and neutrals, yet he's usually the one setting the pace in the centre. I'm not saying Scholes had a spectacular game, just that he did his job :)
I'm with the majority in disagreeing I'm afraid- common sense has to come into it, and the tackle was not malicious, not off the ground, and never even touched the player. Nani didn't protest, the crowd didn't make a sound, and the ref only blew for a free kick when Rooney complained. Would it be a red if company slid in on the ball two footed 20 feet from another player? Because he may as well have done the amount of contact there was in this case. It wasn't dangerous, and was not a red. I've only come across United fans so far who disagree.
The conditions for a red card in this situation are if a player goes into any challenge two-footed, regardless of whether or not he gets the ball, then it's a straight red. It's by the book (which is why the FA have refused the appeal). Harsh, but fair. The Rooney claims are ridiculous. And it was off the ground, it HAD to be off the ground. You can't do a two footed tackle without being off the ground. It wasn't a high tackle, but it was most certainly off the ground. The reason people are so quick to shout it down is because a) we're Manchester United and people assume we're favoured by referees, b) it was a cup tie and a derby, thus people didn't want 10v11 this early and c) because he got the ball. It's all irrelevant.
Funny, I thought he was poor, and looked knackered by the end of his 20 minute run out. Poor mistake for the second goal as well. Certainly no solution to United's poor midfield.
Rusty? Yeah. Poor? Far from it. He wasn't spectacular, but he did what he was supposed to do. Keep the ball moving (hence why he had more passes than any other city player and a very high success rate). He's clearly not a long term solution, but he lends great backup with Cleverley (who I think is our long term solution alongside Anderson) and Fletcher both out.
Why was that a bad decision? I thought Pantilimon was faultless in goal, so missing Hart was hardly the difference, and all players need resting occassionally. It was a stronger lineup than I was expecting in what is no doubt a secondary competition in City's eyes. It is all about the league for them.
Whilst I agree that Pentilimon had a good game, I don't see why they'd bring him in for this game. I know the league is the priority for them (and for us) but you know, you'd expect them to play Hart. I'd have thought it the first name on the scoresheet.
Also, anyone going to manc next week?
I will say it was a harsh decision against Kompany, but I've seen them given before. Had it not been a cup tie, it wouldn't have been challenged so much. Two foot, scissor challenge are by the book a red-cardable offense, even if no malice is intended. Overall we deserved to win, undoubtedly.
Of course, the cherry on the cake is the return of the best midfielder of the past 20 years! And he didn't have a bad game at all. Made a couple of bad passes (one which led to a goal) but overall controlled the pace of the game well when it needed to be. Made more passes than any of the City players with a 97% success rate.
Liverpool - Newcastle

Wasn't optimistic enough it seems :P good win, especially with City dropping points. It could be 20 this season! Not sure we need to buy in the window, but it can't hurt!
Also, wouldn't want Mourinho at United, but I reckon he'll be the one who gets it :\

Couldn't have asked for a better draw, chance to get back at them. Hopefully Clevs is back in time.
Goddamn! Come on Sunderland or Wolves... score another goal.. can't have Sentio taking my 13 ;_;

Where was the optimism? :O
England will never win any major title until all the wags fuck off and all the off-the-field drama extinguishes, enough said.
Pretty much, the culture around the England national team is too pressuring and the hostility of the fans can be far too much. I really don't know how you can boo your own team, it's idiotic.
Fulham 1 - 3 Liverpool
Sorry, copy and pasted and left that there.. I'll change that to:
Fulham 1 - 2 Liverpool
Also, opinion on the Euro 2012 groups? I really wanted England to be drawn into B or C, since it'd actually make them work rather than encouraging them to slack. Sure, group D isn't the easiest group with France and Sweden, but would have loved to have seen them play the Dutch or the Spanish so early in the tournament
LET'S DO THIS
Newcastle 1 - 2 Chelsea
Blackburn 0 - 1 Swansea
Manchester City 3 - 0 Norwich
QPR 1 - 1 West Brom
Tottenham 3 - 1 Bolton
Wigan 0 - 2 Arsenal
Aston Villa 1 - 2 Manchester United
Everton 2 - 0 Stoke
Wolves 1 - 0 Sunderland
Fulham 1 - 3 Liverpool

Silly myth, we don't get any more favour than any other top four team.
also, the whole Gary Speed situation caught me completely out of the blue... Devastating for Welsh football and a sad, sad loss for the game... at only 42 too..
This week, the fix was apparently in on the Man U/Newcastle game, as five of you guessed the result correctly. Looking at the game itself, though, I think we can all agree that a draw was the fairest result...
I'd never agree to such a thing! Ridiculous penalty :(
Cheers mate <3
West Brom 0 v 3 Tottenham
hmmm just found out modric and VDV aren't playing, kinda sucks... will stick with that score though
And what a few weeks! I return to you a changed man, quite literally. I now have a new home, all bought and paid for and in a beautiful part of the world, and to go with it I am now engaged!
Oh, and congratulations on the move and the engagement! :D
Stoke 2 v 1 Blackburn
Bolton 1 v 3 Everton
Chelsea 2 v 0 Wolverhampton
Man Utd 1 v 0 Newcastle (fingers crossed)
Norwich 2 v 2 QPR
Sunderland 2 v 1 Wigan
West Brom 0 v 3 Tottenham
Arsenal 2 v 0 Fulham
Swansea 1 v 1 Aston Villa
Liverpool 2 v 2 Man City
hope can improve on last weeks...
if AVB does get sacked, I'll actually feel sorry for Chelsea fans... I think it's inevitable if they don't qualify for the knockouts...
