I was going for a 'enviro-freak' slash 'peta-protester' type thing.

Probably never going to use it ever again.

Eh, you probably didn't read it anyways, nor will any one. It's a few paragraphs long, so you'll all assume it's negative and that I'm wrong. When in actuality all of that was fact. I left out personal opinions as much as possible.
I didn't say that you did and you're saying that I'm the one that didn't read paragraphs. You say you're leaving your personal opinions out of your posts, but you're filling your them with paranoid assumptions, acting as if you're the victim here.
Honestly, your opinion would be more preferable in a forum environment rather than this pathetic attitude you seem to be showcasing.

In terms of creating a character, not the actual artwork.
What are you doing now in attempt to improve? It would help if we knew what the problem was rather than trying to answer this broad question.
The reason people send you to posemaniacs is because you yourself have to visually study the subject and apply it in a practical manner.
It's like a thousand yellow and orange cars collided at exactly the same time leaving a disorientating array of colours that is incredibly distracting.

That suggestion list is a good idea. I didn't enter before the first deadline because I couldn't think of what to do.
I was actually going to do this but I just... didn't.

I don't think I understand what you're saying. Are you talking about the images tagged calendar2012? Because I don't see any entries in there that shouldn't be.

Don't be afraid to throw down some hard, dark colours purely to define features - you can always fix them back up later. Also, since you're in the initial stages of colouring, might I advise to use a much harder brush, you'll only need a nice blending thing going on when you're finalising the image.
The proportions for a mythical creature are iffy. If you're going for a human torso, the stomach area is too low and the arms are too long. Elbows are generally at the end of your ribcage.
Pretty sure Aigis means that the lines are a colour so similar to the fills that if you were to take them away, it would not make any difference. The most noticeable (or least rather) is that the character has eyebrows. I honestly didn't notice them until I actually tried looking for them.

Pretty much this. The only reason I see as to why people even argue the ridiculous argument of "Is xyz art?" is because no group of people actually pinpoint a single, agreeable definition of the word. If you were to even give "art" a definition, there would have to be multiple versions of the word, like how "bear" can mean an animal, or to endure. Even then when you start the debate all parties involved would have to agree to use one of the meanings.

Overuse of the word "Ain't". Only reason I could imagine that you used "constricted" because you were originally going to use dilated but that wouldn't make any sense because light doesn't make eyes do that, so you quickly googled "opposite of dilate" and trusted someone on Yahoo Answers.
Aigis - Waking Dreams
Part 1 / Part 2
Overall good, thought I felt like there was a part during middle where it seemed to disengage with the rest of the comic.
Knocturne - Vampire Song

Alright, but it seemed rushed and sketchy so no real criticisms about the art. Oh and also "Comic Sans".
Fifty-50 - Codename: Athenos

I agree with the person above who mentioned the direction of the panels/text - I managed to read to the bottom of the page before realising there was a sizable chunk to the bottom left which I instinctively presumed to be credits. Other than that, pretty solid in respects to your general quality of work on the forums.

A genuine"Lol" is my only real comment. The 'U's' on the last page I thought were fish scales for some reason.

I feel like there was a lot of unnecessary empty space in the earlier pages - it worked on some of the later pages though. I think you mentioned you didn't put as much effort as you could have into it and I guess it shows.
Ramatsu - Amaterasu The Sun Goddess
Page 1 / Page 2 / Page 3 / Page 4 / Page 5 / Page 6
The thing with an anime style story is that it relies on a considerable amount of back story which in a 200 episode long series can be explained through flashbacks and whatnot, but you squashed it all into the first page leaving the rest of the comic to lack a real story other than "heroine regains consciousness, plot twist, end".

I don't really know - Artsy perhaps? My commentary on this would be for me too look at a table and say "Yep, it's a table alright".

I think the only thing that tied this to the night was the fact that it was 9pm. The panelling and page setup seemed a bit strewn. I suggest that more thought and precision be put into the layout as it's a fairly important part of any graphic story.
