You specifically asked in the OP for what people thought, he told you what he thought and you just discarded it.
Do you realise this?
If you want my opinion, your works don't really have a context or meaning - "what is the purpose of them?". I don't see any presentational value in any of the pieces if they were to be viewed on the basis of standalone artwork.
If they were perhaps some sort of tile set of a game then sure, I would understand that, but as of right now they are meaningless - they do not convey any sort of idea or depict any sort of essential viewing.

Also the theme was darkness so...
Also also I want to forfeit the money prizes like the first season of Yugioh when he uses that 'Glory of the kings opposite hand' card.

I'm just putting this here in case anyone wanted to see the other stuff I produce but don't upload to Newgrounds because I still believe that there should be standards when uploading to the portal specifically.
I still don't know what to do with this thread.

Objectively? One of the most accessible galleries I've ever seen. Good work, man. If there's a single problem I have with it, its that the only way to get back to the main portfolio screen is the back button. Would consider placing a back to main link in there somewhere.

Well you can reply subjectively but I don't think it would carry as much usefulness as objectiveness. The header links back to the home page, I was thinking people would use it as such.

Also, I'm not getting logged out every time I leave the site any more. I suppose that's fixed?

I know self whoring is bad but does it help if I'm giving away free stuff on the site? :3

Chances of winning are pretty high, I didn't really tell much people.

Jonny posed the question "Where is the time/clock?"

We can only assume it's hidden somewhere. Whoever finds it first gets a puppy.

Closest I could find was on the main forum page at the bottom but it doesn't explicitly say what time it is at the current moment.

I ctrl+f'ed the source code (don't know if that's a legitimate thing to do or not) and that was the only thing related to clocks/time.

Didn't the old clock only log the time that time page was loaded as opposed to automatically updating with every second?
I never looked at it because of the additional clocks you can add on with windows 7 -- with that, I imagine that the purposefulness of having a clock take up space on an already busily designed forum might be unnecessary.

I think yall need to back up a little bit before we get into another discussion about what art is and isn't.

As for inspiration, I usually just use my brain to think of things that the other side of my brain says "hey that sounds like a good idea" and then I start painting. I feel like people over think these things.

Response to: Art and whatnot. Posted February 13th, 2012 in Art

The problem with the existence of this thread is that the forums should realistically be used to post WIP's and whatnot, but the problem is that I finish works far too quickly in the sense that any actual useful criticisms become useless by the time they're posted because I'd have already finished the work in question.
Namely, if I ever post wips, they're usually for show rather than critique.

I started posting wips on kuoke.tumblr jsyk.

Assuming the fav artists notification system starts working with this redesign then there'll be no point in this thread so I don't know.

Here's some stuff:

Of course, after three pages worth of art submissions, I know to check the box saying "this is not a sketch", but based on how it only got two views, I take it that it wasn't seen by anyone else, either.

Maybe I just don't understand the new way the art portal is set up. Anybody care to shed some light? Thank you.

My latest two submitted 2 days ago haven't shown up either. I'm just going to say redesign hiccup.

If one is not a scouted artist, how would one go about submitting to this? How would one submit entries for this anyway?
Anyways, I have a feeling this might be fun.

It's probably going to run through the forums again so I wouldn't imagine that you'd have to be scouted to participate. All you'd have to do is upload it and link it back to it in the thread.
