I bought FL7 some time ago for about $200 bucks, and I was given AddictiveDrum from a studio co-owner my parents knew since he liked my stuff, but hated my FPC sound. lol. I borrow my band's keyboardist's Edirol Orchestral for free. That's about the extent of my computer programs.

My equipment as far as equipment runs like $300 for my Line 6 Spider III amp, which is discontinued, then $400 for my Schecter Damien FR electric guitar, $300 bucks for my Ibanez RG2ex1, $200 for my Mitchell Dreadnought, $500 for my Digitech GNX4 multieffect board, $100 for my microphone, and about 400 bucks to miscellaneous stuff like strings, guitar cases hard and soft, guitar stands, a capo, strings, picks, etc.

Fuckin expensive ;_; I wish I were into techno

I'd probably get a cheap Mitchell.

The Mitchell I linked to, is the one I used here, for both the percussion and the guitar itself. I strung it with light acoustic Elixir strings.

Okay, maybe other people will have different intent, and whore their songs out with vague relations to Psychosis and their music that make little to no sense, as long as they get to advertise their song in link form. Your personal intent doesn't change others'.

Sweep picking isn't really related to lead lines.

The muting comfort you get when you learn sweep picking reaaaally helps add a natural feel to it. But really, if you've got down sweep picking, you've bound to at least got a decent grasp on muting already.

It kind of becomes natural, like MJ said. Palm mutes the lower strings and left hand mutes the upper strings whenever you're playing. Eventually, as you gain finesse with playing, you will learn to hear for the extra noise, and it will bug you so much you'll find a natural way to mute it.

Yeah, ZS hit it on the head with a Fender Jazz.

I've also tried a friend's Schecter Stilleto 6 string, and it's absolutely wonderful in feel and sound.

Though, there can be horrible Fender Jazz basses and terrific cheap dean basses(okay, maybe not), but it can be a matter of chance with guitars. You just have to try a bunch of them out and get a personal opinion on them. Try not to go for how cool the body looks though, or how many spikes they can fit on the head stock.

Here's a recording with my Snowball for acoustics(pretty quiet in a noisy bedroom, so eh on my part).

I kinda like the mic, personally, good 100 dollars quick little ditty. Sounds great to me.

So if you don't feel you're talented to make music, try making it a skill! You've just gotta try and fail, and then try again! You'll progressively get better and it will eventually take way less time to make. If you're that inspired to make music but don't have the creativity, try and exercise what creativity you do have!

Trust me, when you make a song on your own, it's a much better feeling than just covering someone else's song. All ya gotta do is try. :3

I use a Digitech GNX4 multieffect pedalboard, and it serves all my needs very well. I really hope to pick up this Boss in the future and sell my board, as long as it can do everything the Digitech can, which I'm positive it can, maybe even better. I just want to see how the effects would interact with my amp and stuff.

Post some stuff with it if you can so we can get an idea. :3

Yeah, not going to be finding a live, pro, good sounding drummer willing to do it for free, I bet.

Me or MJ or Twilight or LightKeeper can program drums effeciently, but I already did the solo part so yeah, I'd pick one of those guys and just have them programmed.

I actually like it better as a keyboard specific sound. In my band, the drummer sometimes likes to plug his keytar/synthesizer korg thing into my guitar amp, and turn up the distortion with a square lead sound. I actually loved the sound of it. It sounded like a guitar without and picking noises, so in my mind is just qualified as a kickass sounding keyboard. Keyboards need lovin' too! D:

Classical music has lots of dynamics, or quiet and loud parts. If you're looking for something loud and fast all the way through, you're probably not going to find it. Back then, they didn't have power metal.

Try playing, what was mentioned before, Moonlight Sonata's 3rd movement, and I'll be impressed. It's got lots of those nice (I think) diminished and minor ascensions for your dark bit. Those awesome low velocity arpeggios, then that haunting staccato section, lovely.

SymbolCymbal is dead right about the song choice, "I could be better" "I don't think I deserve this" etc. Even if you aren't singing, a minor key depressing thing is just no good. The song is just far too depressing to use. You'll want people to stay in spirit man. Find a major key upbeat song.
