A work in progress, thought it'd be fun for you to see the simplest form of my work in progress then I could post it half way, and the when it's done.

This drawing is about a hole going straight through Earth, pulling people into it and spitting them out on the other side.

I couldn't do that to my shoes, I mostly wear boots and shoes that older men usually wear.

I think this is a good idea, it gives the old "start with a picture" rule some actual use while also creating another rule we needed.

I was trying to think of more to add or things to change but this is just about right.

Cloudy, my band uploaded a new song, you should check it. Also, the rule makes us sound cocky I mean, I know most of us our humble about our meager talent.

Haha true true, as for other crafts I've done... does candle making count?

Response to: Art Forum Lounge Posted November 22nd, 2010 in Art

Yeah, I'm not forcing stuff I never really do that, I just want to draw but I "can't".

Response to: Crafts Posted November 22nd, 2010 in Art

Oh yeah, those actually are kinda hard, I think making dolls and whatever is easy it's just hard when you see the final product and don't know how it got to that point!

I have three doll-worthy characters I started making dolls of but then I kinda stopped for no raisin

Nah, I wouldn't do that anyway. I'm scared because he might look similar to this.

Awesome

Response to: Crafts Posted November 22nd, 2010 in Art

Well I've only tried sewing a doll once. It's about three feet tall and it's of Totoro. Did it for my friend's twenty-first birthday.

I've been in the process of wood carving, and making a few of my own clothes (some vests, hats and pants) among other crafty

Oh no... what do you guys do when you kinda lose the spark for drawing? I think I burnt myself out again. Usually some good music and fantastic art can light me up again, but I wanna try something else.

I think it's fairly safe to say of the people who come to the art forums a lot I'm probably the closest to manga/anime style.

I'd say the best way to get better at art is to not limit yourself to one style. I'd say learn some classical proportions and try to strip away your style from affection your technique.

Once you've got a good foundation then start implementing your style. I did it backwards, if you wanna see go and laugh at my thread full of my art. And you'll see a jump in improvement.

It's in the same vein as people being willing to use punctuation but not willing to type out words. "u don't get it". You could type out the apostrophe in "don't", but you couldn't add "yo" to "you"?
Odd thing to bring up, but I see your point.

True, and pardon what seemed like a cheap jab, I just thought it was especially odd to see such elaborate wordage juxtaposed like that.

And Ansel it wasn't a jab at you, that's why I said the part about not trying to be rude.

As for Occluded, I'd probably like more difference in the water, more dark posts especially under the bought.

I honestly don't know what people are talking about when people say they don't feel welcomed here, when I joined I was welcomed with the openest of arms, which totally blew me away considering the mentality I had of newgrounds was basically what general is.

I'm not saying it's elitism, I'm saying that there's a group here, that comes here almost everyday, that are all familiar with eachother.

If you can't see that then I probably should just stop typing here because I feel it's inherently obvious, it'll happen in any place like the forums here on Newgrounds, there's never a forum without "regulars".

My perception of the regulars here isn't even negative, I wouldn't have come back if I didn't like the people here.

And that's even with my first toe-in-the-water here being me not reading the rules and posting only to be lauded for my lack of consideration. When I look back, I know it was a well deserved kick in the teeth and I thought of it always as tough love, otherwise you guys would have not welcomed me when I started following the rules.

Before I back-track any further I'm just gonna say that I am trying to be objective.
