One more that did yesterday in progress shots. Hate how it came out but I'm out of practice at the very least so I can't be too frustrated *shrug*
Ref
how to lighten parts of the pic that I put too much marker on? Tips appreciated
Got a new sketchbook (cover page below), working on getting a new laptop so I can draw digitally/be active on the forums again. Till then, infrequent posts and general inactivity will continue ;*
Thanks Nacco, that helps a lot!
Ty Demo :)
Thank you Fifty >///<
This is a thing I made for something. A chuck of a quote from a really interesting part of an otherwise boring book. Repousse 8.5x11"

Did I miss anything interesting in the past 4 months?
Ayy
Practicing with textures after watching this guy. Wasn't able to use the filters and stuff he did though bc I'm using SAI lol
(11/11) this one is actually in progress. These are of before I put it in the kiln, next is pics of it fired and then glazing/firing it again. So September 2013 for the form, tba for the rest.
(10/11) April/May project. The eyes look bad ugh

Blegh, typos.

(6/11) I did the form for this around December 2012, but I glaze it until sometime in January 2013
(5/11) December project. Coil bowls, woo. Also used as a Christmas present for my brother lol
(4/11) November project. I hated how a lot of this turned out. It's a bell (you can see the holes/fishing line on the top view picture)
(3/11) from around October 2012. It's a whistle woo

I uploaded that some time ago to the art portal:
This was originally larger, with an underground section, but I cut it out.

This is old stuff, some pottery from last year
(1/11) from Septemer '12
this was the first thing I ever did in pottery woo
They're not bad, but definitely need more contrast in them. It's hard to make them out from the background.

Brightness and Contrast to get what you see below, then set that to a multiply layer and color underneath.

Foot looks flat, should probably be pointed downwards more so that it looks like the weight is on the balls of her feet.
Also the boobs are pushed together which probably wouldn't be happening?
The torso is also extremely static in comparison to the legs. Try countering the angle created by the hips with a different/opposite angle for the shoulders.
And general foreshortening of arms could be a bit better.

I recently picked up Photoshop CS6, though, and I notice there is noline tool. My trial of Sai has run out, and I'm debating buying it or not. Am I missing something in Photoshop, or do you guys just actually draw the linework by hand in there.
I don't know exactly what you mean by "by hand".
Also, for some reason Photoshop isn't picking up the pen pressure on my tablet, even though it does in Sai. Is that photoshop or is there a problem I'm missing.
Yes there's a toggle somewhere or another. I think you have to right click the tool (I don't remember exactly how, I use sai lol)

For future reference, we do have an Art Collaboration Thread for exactly this kind of thing.
