You need a Grounds Gold Account to post on the NG BBS!If you don't have one, click here to sign up now! It's fast, free, and easy — and opens up tons of great NG features!
XP has all the old sounds from Windows ME and 98 and such. Mine is getting a lot of views, for some reason... dunno why, I guess Windows songs are popular. :D
One thing you need to learn; a 3.52 is not low. a 2.52, now that is pretty low. You weren't attacked by a "ban group" because NG has basically outlawed them, even though it may seem like you are getting a lot of low votes.
It could also be because some of the people with songs towards the top of the genre listings got jealous or paranoid and voted it down. It happens all the time, there is no need to delete.
Someone on this very website once told me; if you have an issue with a user, for fucks sake, LEAVE IT IN A PM. You don't have to get everyone else involved, because it will only make you look bad! You have no REAL proof that this "15 year old kid" sent you those PMs! So why bother posting, and ranting, and in the AUDIO FORUM, of all places?
To the OP, i think you've been here long enough to realize that the Top 5 is shit. It isn't important.
I sort of know what clearing the cache is, and now I know more. :P
Anyway, for Firefox, I'm not entirely sure the clear cache hotkey is ctrl + F5. All that appears to do is refresh the page, though that could be what it is set to do?
Well, the demo lets you save as MP3, MIDI, WAV or OGG. You can't save your projects as .flp files to go back to at another time, but like I said, you can render them.
FL takes some time to learn, I'll admit. You will eventually get it though, and the demo, along with the tutorials that are included, are a great way to learn.
I personally don't know what the top 5 songs or best of the week were from last week. There used to be a topic that listed all of the top 5 songs for that week, but someone (I think Rucklo, correct me if I'm wrong) closed it because of too much spam or something.
You should try PMing a forum mod and ask them about it.
Yeah, sorry guys, this whole thing sort of died. Modem didn't die, and I agree that this was a good idea, but to me, it was very unorganized and very confusing. Those two things are my fault, I really didn't keep good enough track of what was going on.
I agree with la-yinn. Modem has been very busy, and he hasn't posted in this topic yet, although he has agreed to work on something with me. I can show the PM's if needed, I don't know when he'll get the chance to post. :P
Wah wah you don't like someone else wah wah wah I'm going to whine and complain and start a riot wah wah wah because I'm pissed at someone wah wah wah.
Well, let's just get one thing straight from the start; you had better not upload that MIDI-MP3 file here. Newgrounds does not like Midi Rips.
At any rate, if you've already got iTunes on hand (I'm just assuming here.) you can change a midi to an MP3 pretty quickly. Just open the MIDI file in iTunes, go to Advanced, and in that drop down box, look for "Create MP3 Version" or something similar.
You didn't really give this contest a whole lot of time. I mean, I know it's not a MAC, but i felt like i didn't have all that much time to make a song, because even annoying songs take time.
Question; I've got a song with a lot of windows sounds used towards the end (supposed to simulate a virus taking over a computer). Should i just cut out that part of the song, or create something entirely new?
Also, if you're looking for a good arp-VST, you should try Super Wave Synths. Many of them are demo products, but i know that Super Wave Pro and Trance Pro are not. They're both very good, with lots of customization, 2 oscillators, etc.
Alright, the music/style that i prefer;
-Melodic Trance
-Psy Trance
-Smooth melodies with not a lot of really punchy and in your face leads
-Soft pads and such
-Ambiance
-piano solos and the like
