it would not end it in the bad ass way you want but it shows a little bit of time in your studies

yeah but it wouldn't really fit the the situation.

The character just defeated another character (who is a beaver...named Dr. Beaver) and i'm trying to make it like a cheesy ending of fight scene where the protagonist says some stupid one liner after beating up someone else.

Because the character he beat up is a beaver, it'd be better if it was some stupid beaver pun (i'm trying to go for comedy btw)

I'm just having a bit of a writer's block. I'm sure i'll think of something that i'll like but 'till then i'm open to suggestions

I need a beaver pun for an upcoming flash. It doesn't matter how lame it is

Let's say you just beat up a beaver, afterward your cheesy one liner would be:

Response to: Animators for a platformer Posted August 19th, 2011 in Animation

How are people to know what they're getting into if you don't post any information at all.

What's this game about? What do you want it to look like? How long do you want it to be?

Animators don't want to follow you blindly into a big project with the possibility that it's going to turn out horribly (no offense)

Response to: Animation Ideas Posted August 13th, 2011 in Animation

watch Jersey Shore

the sheer stupidity of those douchebags will frustrate you AND inspire you to make fun of them in a flash...as long as you're creative

Response to: 72 Hour Flash-pass: Auditions Posted August 13th, 2011 in Collaboration

So basically you start an animation then we add on to it whatever we want or are there any guidelines?

Like you animate a guy walking for example, then someone animates him tripping and falling, then someone animates him getting up etc. is that the kinda thing you're talking about

sorry i'm a little slow :L

I've been working on a flash file for quite a while now, and it's gotten quite large. Just last night, I inserted a frame and suddenly it gave me the loading sign for a solid minute until finally giving me a message saying something along the lines of "Flash does not have enough virtual memory to process this request"

I went on the control panel and increased my virtual memory significantly, still, it lags for about 30 seconds every time i create a new frame.

So it must be just because this file is too big (atm it's 503,501 KB. I don't really know if that's an unusual size for a fla. file or not) because i made a new flash just to test and i could easily insert as many frames as i wanted on said new fla.

Are there any ways to fix this problem? I looked around on Google for a while and didn't really find much other than it telling me to increase my virtual memory. Can you turn down the settings on flash to make it run without using as much memory or something? Or do i have to split this file into two different fla files...?

I'm so close to being done this project too, if i could just get another week of smooth animating without lag this could be finished!

Response to: Why does everyone hate sprites Posted August 3rd, 2011 in Animation

At 8/3/11 07:51 PM, Elfman-Rox wrote: Don't bring sticks into this. My opinion on stick figure animation is the exact opposite of my position on sprites. The fact that the stick figures aren't fleshy creatures adds to the animation's focus on choreography as opposed to detail.

I think Tom said something like that once. I agree completely.

Sure, but in terms of learning purposes sprites and sticks are quite similar. Despite you having to draw one (very quickly i might add) and just copy+paste the other...

Response to: Why does everyone hate sprites Posted August 3rd, 2011 in Animation

Exactly. Like how stick figure animation is great for learning the basics of animation in terms of fluid movement and showing impact, sprites are great for learning the basics of flash in general.

If you see a future with flash, go for it and make some sprite anims, i can't promise they will be praised if you submit them, though it'd be good practice.

There's really nothing more to it than that.

Response to: Why does everyone hate sprites Posted July 28th, 2011 in Animation

i personally don't mind sprites, as long as they're animated well. But i imagine people hate them because when compared to full body fps it just seems lazy, plus what the other guy said about not making the sprites yourself.

Overall i guess it's frustration because some sprite animations get daily prize when full body fps anims dont lol.

make episode one. Then you'll get responses and people will actually have something to critisize, as oppose to just a screenshot and an idea.

Who knows, maybe you're series will get many many fans

Plus i dont like buying games twice, people who already have it on the PC should get some kind of discount, or atleast if they bought MC when it was in alpha or whatever

As for methods, I don't use sketch.
But as they said before, it's up to what you like.

Pencil Tool not working properly Posted February 5th, 2011 in Game Development

I recently switched my copy of flash from my family computer to my personal laptop (uninstalled on one and then installed on laptop) and now when i go on flash and try and draw with the pencil tool, it's incredibly delayed.

Whether im using a mouse or my tablet, if i have the pencil tool equipped and click down to try and draw no pencil line appears until atleast 5 seconds of drawing.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, how did you fix it? I can't think of any reason why it would just randomly start acting like this...

Tablet Problem/installat ion proble Posted December 29th, 2010 in General

right in the middle of a big project my old-ass computer starts majorally screwing up. I recently got a laptop, so i thought i'd uninstall flash from my family com and then install in on my laptop so i could resume my project there. Flash all works and such but my tablet is acting different and it didn't install properly.

(i have windows 7) When i plugged it in to my laptop for the first time a little thingy ma doodle popped up in the bottom right corner of my screen saying "installing software" then next thing i knew everything was installed. But my tablet buttons dont work, the button that initiates the hand tool on my pen doesnt work, and when im hovering the pen over my tablet, it acts too much like a mouse (if you have a wacom bamboo tablet you probably know what i mean)

I looked all over and i cant find the setup for my tablet anywhere. At the risk of sounding really stupid with computers how can i install my tablet properly so that the window with the settings for my tablet (what the buttons do, how it acts etc) pops up and whanot.
