i kind of forgot about this haha...

I'm still thinking of an idea. It's hard to tribute zeurel in a way because he's moreso about serious fightscenes compared to someone like Egoraptor, whom you can just use his style of humor to parody his own stuff.

But i'll think of something soon!

i probably won't come back to this thread. So if interested, then PM me.

Response to: Voice Actor Wanted Posted November 21st, 2011 in Audio

Need a voice actor.

Character - rough, grumbly kind of voice (for reference i'd say watch Gameoverse, the T-rex is pretty much the voice I'm looking for. I was originally going to get Egoraptor to voice but he hasn't responded yet.

Short backstory - Name: The butcher. Owner of a fast food restaurant, mentally unstable. In the episode, he becomes obsessed with the fact that Super Cow (the show's protagonist) would be the perfect burger if he were processed into beef. So he devises a plan to kill him.

Sample Line: Whoa...He'd be the perfect burger... (in awe, somewhat quiet)

Note: Not to sound harsh or shallow, but if Egoraptor does respond before you're able to get to me i'll go for him before you. Though don't worry, I doubt that'll happen.

Response to: The Animator Tribute Collab Posted November 16th, 2011 in Collaboration

i like this idea, and damn you know how to start a collab thread.

I'm not sure if i'll be able to submit something, as I'm working on something right now, however it's moving very slowly atm and i may have time in between.

So if I can, I might as well post now.

-Zeurel
-i love his style of animation and he has made so many tv show quality flashes that I still watch over again to this day(Like his EFN series).
-I assume it'd be done by January.

Cool. So if the thing gets more views it'll get more ecpm? Also does ecpm estimate for every thousand or every million?

Some API/flash ads questions Posted October 29th, 2011 in Where is / How to?

Hey there, I've recently started being more active on the portal and since I've started using the API things, you can probably guess I'm confused about a couple things.

I already read all of psychogolfish's FAQ about it an I'm still not ire about a few things, so I was hoping some people with experience could help me out...

- I noticed some ads on flashes are different than the one i used. Is that purely a different design you can download somewhere or is that some advanced version that gives you more money...?
- I also noticed I get money off of flash portal ads when I was looking at my revenue thing, this is probably an obvious question but does this mean I get a bit of revenue off of any cartoon I submit? Because that one didn't have an ad in it and I'm still getting money nonetheless.
- what's the deal with ecpm? It started at a decent amount, then it spiked up to a dollar more for a day or two then went down to a lower amount of money than what it started with. Does the ecpm change based on score or what because if anything my score went up so the ecpm should have stayed up right..?
- I may have interpreted this wrong, but is the system with the ad rev based on only being paid when you hit a certain amount? For example if I only get $5 one month it'll go into the next month's payment and so on until I hit $50 right?

Anyway those are my questions, I most likely have more confusions in the back of my head that I can't think of right now but whatever, these are the main ones despite the fact that they might seem obvious.

I'd appreciate the help.

Response to: Storyboards how many use them? Posted October 27th, 2011 in Animation

I don't exactly know if it's a storyboard or an animatic, but usually if it's a somewhat long anim i'll make a rough layer outlining the camera movements, character poses/movements/expressions etc.

It's really helpful and more organized, because I know that if I have a certain way I want to show the scene in terms of cinematography and the way the character moves, I need to hold on to that by making a storyboard in case I forget by the time I get to that point in animating.

I'd say save up for flash, it's worth it. Maybe in between get the flash trial for practice

...and of course you could always pirate it...but...that's illegal and stuff

Movie Clips are strobing/glitchin g Posted September 22nd, 2011 in Game Development

A while ago, when i was close to being finished, whenever i test movie'd my flash certain movie clips would kind of strobe rather than actually play. They wouldn't play the animation of the movieclip, instead they would just appear and then disappear every second.

This is obviously not suppose to happen, inside the movieclip there is nothing that i animated to make it do that. Then suddenly, when i test movie'd again (mind you this was a good week or so of animating/fix ups of the movie later) the problem was magically fixed and the movie clips played normally.

Now, right when my movie is finally finished the problem came up again. First it was with the usual 3 movie clips, but after adding the api flash ad to my flash now the little intro movie clip I downloaded from NG is strobing as well. (The intro that shows the logo, and then turns into text that says "everything by everyone")

I've had it with these stupid problems coming up in flash that i'm completely clueless on how to fix, i feel like i've posted a million threads for this god forsaken movie and i just want to submit it already. Anybody know by chance what the problem is? I'd really appreciate the help.

Although to avoid problems like this in future, is playing flash in the dump grounds identical to uploading it to newgrounds?
No, not really uploading it is more as a feature to show your flash no one can review or vote on it its more of a test.

I don't think that's what he meant.

(back to the question) i'm assuming so. I mean either way you are just uploading it to a swf hosting space, so i would guess there is no different

Response to: Animation Process Posted September 2nd, 2011 in Animation

1. Base Idea
2. Character design
2.Expand on it and write the script
3. Preloader
4. Storyboard it/do some rough animation
5. Procrastinate
6. Start actually animating it
7. Procrastinate more
8. Make excuses
9. Get music/sound fx
10. Finish it

I don't voice my own stuff, so yeah...somewhere in there is "assemble voice acting team"

Response to: i want to animate!! Posted September 2nd, 2011 in Animation

I definitely recommend the Pivot Stick Figure Animator (just search that on google, it's free) It's where i got my start, because it really helps you learn the concept of animation and how it works, how to smooth out movements etc.

oh god. I'm not entirely sure i have 6 scenes each with about 2,000 frames so i'm guessing around 12,000 frames? why?

Response to: Sync problem but only when exported Posted August 31st, 2011 in Game Development

i should also add that it's only out of sync when i export/testmovie the whole flash

But if i just testscene none of the problems come up

Change both Audios from 16kbps to 48kbps or 64kbps

i have both audios on 128kbps

and i have had them on that since the beginning, that's not the problem.

And i don't like that attitude

When i watch my animation (not exported, just the fla.) everything is nicely on sync, the lip syncing, the sound cues etc. But then whenever i export my flash or testmovie it, multiple things go wrong.

Probably the most annoying/important problem is the fact that the movie gets progressively out of sync.
With the first scene being perfectly fine, the next one being probably 1 frame off and the final scene playing the sound a good 5 frames too late. I don't understand why this happening.

It's perfectly fine when watching it as an fla but the swf is just really out of sync.

Another problem is during the testmovie some movieclips spaz out a little. They kind of strobe in and out as if one frame they are there and one frame they aren't when they are not suppose to do that.

If anyone knows anything about why this schtuff is happening please help. It'd be greatly appreciated.

Amnesia: Dark Descent

It's on steam for $20 right now i think.

You depend on light, if you're in the dark for too long insanity kicks in and you may die. You're being followed by what's only referred to as "a shadow" and there's a beast stalking the dark, narrow halls of the mansion you're in, looking for you.

It has a great sense of horror and impending danger, seeing as you can't attack. When you see the beast or something bad happens your only options are to run and/or hide.

Go check out some gameplay or reviews on it. I'm only about a quarter way done and i'm already loving it, i especially love the water part near the beginning. If you buy the game, you'll see why
