Alright well nevermind my concern I was just picturing it the wrong way I guess.

I'm having a total drawers block right now apparently. I just spent the last hour or so drawing any random characters I could but never settled on one I like.

I'll try again tomorrow night.

Aaaaaaannd I forget the link...

of course

I have a question, how will this work in terms of characters doing close ranged attacks.

For example, if I want my character to run up and punch my opponent in the face, how much of that will I animate?

Will I animate him up to the point where he punches and then hand off the flash and have my opponent animate his character dodging/blocking?

If possible, i think you should consider making the collab a little bit like this flash. Kind of gives us more freedom in our animating, though may take some extra work in terms of scripting.

The difference is in timing. He didn't adjust the positions to accommodate the different frame rates so the one animated on 2's looks clunkier/less fluid.

He shouldn't have used the same positions, rather there should have been bigger changes occurring faster when he was using 2's to compensate so it doesn't look as clunky

Hmm thanks for the input. I guess this is because I did it in singles and then afterwards, just doubled a few of the frames rather than redoing the whole movement.

I'll just leave it the way it is though. Thanks guys.

Here's some of my work. It's pretty long so i wouldn't mind if you only watched/judged the first little bit of it.

I'll come up with a character soon.

Response to: Animation Practice!? Posted March 3rd, 2012 in Animation

Arrrrrg. I need a second opinion on this!

Did this short movement for a flash i'm working on, but I can't decide if it looks better in doubles or ones.

Comparison

Keep in mind he'll be talking while he does this, but after watching both, i can't decide. Sometimes i think it's too quick of a movement, then other times I think it's too slow.

Would really appreciate any help on this.

Response to: The Animation Battle (collab) Posted March 3rd, 2012 in Collaboration

Alright, I'll try this out if you let me. I feel like I need some practice lately anyway.

Though how will this work? Do we now discuss who partners with who (I suggest assigning numbers to us then using a random number generator to make opponents), and is there a deadline?

This collab could turn out really well if done properly, I love these kinds of collabs.

Response to: Why can't I animate? Posted February 12th, 2012 in Animation

Podcasts! I can't stress this enough.

Or music, anything to entertain you as you animate. It's a tedious process that can become boring within seconds if you're just sitting in silence save your own thoughts. Personally though, i can't do it with just music, too boring, i need a funny/interesting podcast. Usually i listen to the RoosterTeeth Podcast or the Wisenheimers (before it ended of course).

It's all about distracting yourself, while still being focused. I used to have HUGE problems with finishing animations, just like you i'd get like half way in, get mad at how it's not turning out right and how long it's taking and then give up.

Being entertained is vital to being able to animate for long periods of time. Find a good podcast to listen to next time you animate, it'll help I promise.

Wrong forum. Post this in collaboration as you are simply looking for voice actors and it doesn't have much to do with animation.

Here's my part. I pm'd the Fla to Luis.

(there seems to be some frame droppage when I look at the uploaded file, it sorts itself out after letting it loop a little though, becomes more smooth)

Response to: "Outstanding PJs" animation thread Posted January 31st, 2012 in Animation

Alrighty that's cool.

And by "badly tweened" i was mostly referring to when it showed the on super hero at the beginning moving his fists about.

Response to: Collab: Follow My Lead! Posted January 30th, 2012 in Collaboration

I love these things. Count me in.

However, i'm a little curious...will there be a time limit/minimal requirement for part? I mean each part greatly varying in length would be a little weird wouldn't it..?

Also, how will this be set up, I mean obviously we all have different styles of animation and drawing. So will this be like pass the ball where each new scene is suppose to be in a different area, or are we all adding on to an animation focused on a character. Because story-wise, a constantly changing setting and character would be hard to make fluent if you know what I mean.

I think we just need a little more info on what you have in mind.

Is the animation going to be like the animation in your trailer? Because, no offense but, it's very stiff and badly badly tweened :L

Just saying, because if the whole episode is like that, it won't get much praise.

Is there a strict deadline to this..? I have a lot on my plate now but maaaayyyybe i could do it since you're paying and stuff.

Though if I were to animate it it'd take a while for it to be finished.

For some reason my track is completely muted. Every pattern just isn't making any sound, any other song i open up works and the song used to work, but when i opened it yesterday to work on it a little bit it suddenly wasn't working.

I'm an FL n00b here...so...yeah.

If you could help me out that'd be swell.

Response to: Looking for Animator paying gig Posted January 23rd, 2012 in Animation

Could you give us more info?

-Is is going to be a serious fight scene?
-do you have a storyboard or are we to design the way it's shot ourselves?
-What's the kind of drawing/animation style you're looking for? Is it realistic? Is it a sprite movie? Is it cartoony?

I'm sure that very many people are interested, you should elaborate more.

Response to: NG Redesign 2 Collab Posted January 22nd, 2012 in Collaboration

I've got the rough animation, and the voices done, as well as some halfway done clean animation at the beginning for it.

Still working though.

Blah.

Response to: What made this animation "fail"? Posted January 20th, 2012 in Animation

-i don't know if the flash lagged, but the lip syncing seemed off.
-like previously said, when he's behind the bushes i can barely see him. You could have used darker colours for the background to make him pop out, or even blurred the background slightly.
-There wasn't much of a punchline, maybe I missed something, but does he just turn into the boogeyman because he watches the kid
-the transformation scene feels really insignificant, i feel like he should have changed physically or something, rather than just acting weird afterwards.

Keep at it though, your art is fine, and the voice acting is decent, though at some parts it feels flat.

I think it's really cool that you're making a thread for people to critique you though, i remember i didn't start growing as an animator until I realized how bad I was. It was then that I was able to move on at my own pace, and not constantly judge my work because it didn't look like the stuff i admire on here.

So I can honestly say by opening yourself to criticism, you've taken a big step forward in learning, my friend.

Response to: How I feel about dubstep. Posted January 17th, 2012 in General

I love dubstep.

With all my heart.

But I hate how everyone always goes right to skrillex for refrence, i mean he's good but he has his own twist on the genre so it isn't really accurate.

Why not Flux Pavilion, Ephixa or Bar 9...?

Response to: My animation thread Posted January 17th, 2012 in Animation

Well for starters the thumb is on the wrong side of the hand. Also, like the others said you should slow it down a bit, just because it's a bit hard to see what's going on exactly.

Keep at it.
