Here's my rough so far. It's turning out pretty nice, still workin' though.

Response to: The Animation Battle (collab) Posted August 12th, 2012 in Collaboration

Hey, I've been a little busy lately I guess but I need to sort some stuff out here.

KidKei pm'd me a while back saying he can't finish the collab, I then paired up with Cerox, but he hasn't been active for at least a month. So...I guess I'm without a partner again.

Response to: The Animation Battle (collab) Posted July 27th, 2012 in Collaboration

Cerox where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu?

Response to: Mario Animation [wip] Posted July 15th, 2012 in Animation

I'm not sure if your swimming animation is suppose to look derpy like that (no offence) but if it isn't, try making the arms do that movement at shoulder height rather than swinging his arms at the waist.

Really that's all I can say, otherwise I enjoyed it. You have a nice cartoony style.

No offense or anything, but you both have to be accepted before just jumping into the collab like this.

I don't know about ZoVies, but I think this collab has gotten a litttttlle bit out of control in terms of the people joining this. We want this collab to be good quality, so I think we should really start assessing the people who join.

But then again that's just my opinion. Anyway, post an example of your animation skills please, I don't see any recent movies on your profile that you actually animated for.

Maybe we should put the people joining on hold until ZoVies gets back...

Response to: What is happening here!?!?! Posted July 4th, 2012 in Animation

This happened to me with one of my flashes, and is now happening with a flash I'm working on now. It's frusterating as hell.

The last one though, someone suggested I put all the sounds in a movie clip. This ended up being what I did, though it may be a bit tedious. Just assemble all your sounds the way they are suppose to be, synced up and whatnot, then copy and paste the frames in a new movie clip...I think that's what I did, either way it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

I too, would like to know the cause of this though.

Response to: 94 Electronic Producers Needed! Posted July 1st, 2012 in Collaboration

Should you really put limits like that? I mean I'm not music producer, but I feel like people would want room to experiment.

As in, why are there specific amounts of certain genres? Why not just get 100 producers and let them produce?

Response to: The Animation Battle (collab) Posted July 1st, 2012 in Collaboration

I should probably note that I changed my character, if that's okay.

Animating a character with a box on his back is just so tedious...anyways I changed to a telekinesis type character. Still don't have a name for him...

Some places would be

reddit.com/r/animation

or if you upload the animation youtube, you could just straight up post it to reddit.com/r/videos where it will possibly get more views.

Basically, just post it on other animation forums, and if it's funny/amazing enough it will get the attention it deserves.

Response to: Meet The Pyro: What Do You Think? Posted June 30th, 2012 in Video Games

It definitely made Pyro look extremely more terrifying.

But I liked it, I never really thought about it, but I mean pretty much every other character just shoot eachother with guns. Pyro actually burns his enemies to death, Meet the Pyro kind of brought light to how every other character is terrified of him because hey, would you rather burn to death or be shot in the face?

Response to: Animator Wanted Thread Posted June 29th, 2012 in Animation

A request to people who post here asking for animators. Please put something like "$$$ in the first line of your post or something like that.

It's not that we're all greedy bastards, but if you're paying than it will definitely help your chances of getting a lot of animators at your feet.

Have you posted your character yet?

Actually nevermind, Cerox PM'd me, I'm battling him. Sorry man :(

Response to: Audio files are not being read. Posted June 4th, 2012 in Game Development

Ah, I found help.

Just in case anyone is experiencing similar problems, or if you're looking at this thread at the future, this is how to fix it.

If you're working with audacity, you just have to lower the Project Rate (bottom left corner).

All of my audio files (in .wav format of course) give me the "one or more files were not imported because there was an error reading them" message when I attempt to import them to the flash.

The weird thing is, that 2 out of the 20 or so .wav files actually work, but all the others for some reason have a problem. I can play them all in windows media player and whatnot, but as soon as I try and import them they are unreadable.

I know this is a longshot to ask about this here, but google isn't really giving me any answers and I figured that someone else on here ought to have had the same problem at one point. So yeah, anyone have any idea of what's going on? Would converting them do anything? I don't want to turn them all to mp3's because that'd really up my file size of the flash.

Really if you're working with loads of symbols it's best to use motion tweens.

Sorry I'm lazy, but a quick youtube tutorial search or even a tut search here on NG will tell you all about it.

Well, that was a great explosion, well-animated. With color it would be even better though.

When colouring, I suggest trying to make parts have little bits of light shining through the smoke in come spots. It's hard to explain, but if you look at explosion pictures I believe you'll know what I mean.

I dunno it seems like a hassle, I mean it takes barely a minute to make a dropbox account so that'd be all around easier for everyone.

But whatever, it's up to the OP

thats great! well since your interested just e-mail me at Dylanb20@ymail.com and I'll give you more info.

Alright I don't want to rain on your parade but this isn't going to happen. At the risk of sounding condescending, do you realize how long it takes to animate? Just think this over a little...you want a bunch of animators to get behind you, do a huge amount of animation and work on 20 minute long episodes without any pay for a (what I suspect to be) a pretty damn long series. What do you have in mind, like 12 episodes a season?

That's way too much work for us, even if you did spread the workload throughout several animators.

This is the wrong place to advertise this my friend, you'll get writers, maybe voice actors but from my experience with these kinds of "I have an idea but I can't animate so I need help but can't pay" threads, you will not get any animators. Atleast not any with the skillset you would prefer.

And out of curiosity what will you offer towards this project? You would be writing and..? It's just that a lot of people don't like to think the workload is being dumped on them while the creator is doing -relatively- nothing.

Sorry. Though it'd be cool to see this happen, i think you better try a different website. Then again, this is just what I think will happen, maybe everyone will come together and do this...i dunno.

Why'd you put an ad on your dump item...?...really?
I put it in because I wanted to get it all working as I'm using the same file in my project.
instead of giving your input you just told about some stupid ad that means nothing to anyone, appreciate it.

well it seemed a little suspicious is all, but nevermind. You want some input on it?

First of all, your sound effect of the explosion is a bit too loud, you may want to turn it down. Other than that my main gripe is that the characters move kind of boringly...i guess...if that's a word. For example, I feel like when the guy shoots the thing out of his hand near the end he should change positions or something, it'd make it look like the blast is more powerful rather than him just simply raising his hand and firing in a static position.

But that's about it really, you've got camera movements and whatnot under control. It's looking pretty good.

happy?

Response to: Animation Practice!? Posted April 7th, 2012 in Animation

Hey guys, I need some help with where to go to next with an animation.

It's just in storyboard mode right now, but it's essentially a music video for a dubstep song...sort of. I haven't drawn this part yet, it's just in writing and I need more stuff to fill up the verse, but I'll try and quickly explain what the cartoon is about.

It starts off showing a kid in a hoodie sitting on a tire, with junk and tires all around him. The setting is an apocalyptic wasteland, after a robot revolution (I know it's original right...but give it a chance). Anyway, the kid is sitting there, depressed as he's the last of his family, then suddenly over the horizon he see's 4 of the giant robots walking his way. He grabs a pipe on the ground and hides behind the stack of tires near him as the robots get closer.

Now here's the problem, I know what's going to happen when the song picks up, but from the point in the song where the kid hides behind the tires to the point where it picks up, I got nothing...

Could anyone help me out here? I don't want to just make a bunch of panning shots showing the robots getting closer and the kid looking scared, that'd be too slow. It could just be a simple thing, like what the kid does or what the camera cuts to during the time that it takes to get to the point in the song where I already have planned out (it's only like 30 seconds)

(Sorry this isn't the usual animation question btw, I just think it's better to post this here rather than start my own thread). Any help would be appreciated, I'm just in a bit of a writer's rut right now. If you guys can't/don't think of anything then that's understood lol. Anyways, thanks in advance.
