I try the same tactic but often don't make the run back due to not being able to tank like you. There's a video around where a warrior solos the tome.

Coop: You're taking forever to hit 60 ;)

I'm not in an end-game guild at the moment, so all I've been doing is BGing to hopefully get my rares there... given up on my rare set, Dreadmist. Over 30 runs for the head-piece and still nothing.

Hoping for rank 10 after maintenance. I have about 140,000 honour with about 20% in. Then I can finally have my PvP head and shoulder rares :)

Congrats Polux on all you gear. Stuff like that, with a shadow spec, will just own hardcore. Those DoTs/debuffs, blackout and then a mind-flay can be nasty!

A .mp3 conversion is the best you can have, especially if you're not looking for quantity over quality.

mp3 is the most readable format you can have.

There is no doubt that mp3 is the way to go when encoding. 99% of new-age digital readers won't have any problems.

This whole ordeal would be easier if the Fulps just accepted direct transfers. Funny part about this is that I won't benefit from NG. NG will benefit from me :(

I'm not insulting your judgement, but I think you don't participate in any sports with real competiveness.

I'll draw in a slack example:
You have an athletic event. One guy has better studs on his boots so he is able to run faster due to traction and weight issues.
One-make series eliminates this cheque-book method and allows everybody to run freely. It's like letting everybody wear the same gear.

Point is, it comes down to skill to win and not because you have the funding.

On the other-hand, I've organised some stickers though an NG member. If they don't arrive, oh well, but if they really do, NG will get some good publicity :)

Nice car..

Infact, I have a 1991 200sx/180sx. It's not the naturally aspirated 2.4l piece of crap you guys had up there in the states. It's an 1800cc turbo-charged version... far more powerful.

I've been thousands on the car and while it's just sitting in the garage for the last few months, I'm planning on fitting either the SR20DET of the RB from the R34 Skyline. Money isn't a problem with getting the motor. It's the fitting and experiance I can't seem to find.

Running with a hybrid T3/T4 Garret, gas-flowed head, ceramic pistons, free-flowing exhaust with a bit of compression, remappable Unichip, huge FMIC, I'm getting 169kw at the rear wheels. This is only at 0.69 boost! Top speed between 250-260km/h. Not bad for an 1800cc.

She has also been dropped about 40mm (or 60mm, not sure) and I've had Koni performance shocks and springs added. A short-shifter kit and wing from Australia was also added. Boost/oil/water gauges added in the right pillar of the driver side (Right-hand drive here).

I also race. Although I have no go-karting experiance, I'm doing pretty well. Here are some vids:

Old 8v Golf with LSD grabbing the tar.
First national race last year in the Polo cup championship.

I need the stickers delivered to me.

I'm unable to purchase them myself. I have the money to buy thousands, but there is no way I can actually pay for them. The banks here in RSA are full of shit.

There is no issue in getting money to pay back the sticker-sponsor, but getting the money to them is the problem.

I haven't been around on the forums for a hell of a long time, but some of you will know me.

I race motor sport, cars, in a National series and I recently participated in the curtain raiser for the A1 series here in South Africa. For those that don't know about the A1 Gran Prix, it's the World Cup of Motorsport.

I've only been racing Nationals for about 6 months, and while I don't have go-karting experience, I placed 14 out of 24 drivers on the Durban A1 circuit. This is competing against global go-karting champions and racing veterans.

To the point, I'm looking for some NG stickers to place on the car. The only reason for this is because I have a few friends who have submitted projects to NG, and scored higher than 4.20, and I was once programming in Flash to submit some of my work purely for NG. It's a bit of a morale issue for the time I wasted in AS.

I unfortunately can't buy stickers as I don't have a credit card and Pay-pal doesn't operate here in South Africa.

Someone please donate some stickers to this racing team. We don't need sponsors to keep the team running, but I would like to have the NG token on my vehicle as it would be a boost to young entrepreneurs. The person that donates me stickers will also have their full, or desired, name posted on the car as long as it's not offensive.

You can contact me at jun[at]rgtracing[dot]co.za or jun[at]jmk[dot]co.za. You can also view my profile at www.juniorkruger.co.za.

I beg you not to fill this topic with the usual bullshit that NG General normally brings about.

I see a lot of people saying that they're getting bored with their class(es).

If you get a bit bored playing a level 40 toon, try and stick it out if you have the time. A lot of classes only reach their prime at 60, so don't be thrown off until then. A lot of classes 'mature' greatly at the cap and become devastating at that point. You should look at having one 60 instead of a whole bunch of alts. It's tough to get into a raid group and it will take a while depending on your server. Focus on that.

Dinged 59 earlier today with my human lock, 300 Alchemy. Haven't been able to log on, but I think I've gone from Master Sergeant to the next level.. rank 5 or 6.

Also found two tier 1 epics yesterday.. Dreadmist gloves and belt. Devout skirt too. And then other random blues.

1 more level and the MC runs will finally begin. :)

Also have a level 20 mage which I'm mostly using as a bank for now. About 150/150 at enchanting and tailoring.

While I was still at home, it was a matter of waiting for Christmas day to open all our gifts, allowing us kidrens to get up early and bug the shit out of our olders. We were allowed to open one gift the night before.

Now that I stay in my own place, I make the rules :P. We open gifts on Christmas day and then a good lunch is made, unless otherwise determined.

I'm pretty much a die-hard fan of the first two. The series is one of the only games I'll ever replay over and over... and over.

My question is:
Is Monkey Island 3 as good as the rest? I played a demo of it at a buddies house when it first came out and it didn't really feel the same. Unfortunately, I only got half-way through the demo due to it bombing out. And apart from that, I've forgotten completely about it and never bought the game myself.

Are the hilarious antics in the previous Monkey Islands featured and as good in Monkey Island 3? Is it worth hunting down and getting it? I seem to be missing Guybrush and his wild adventures.

YARRR!

Topic: flash multi player games

Posted: 11/23/05 07:36 AM

Forum: General

By only looking for Flash games, you're limiting yourself to some really good gaming.

The only good Flash multiplayer game I think of is Tactics Arena Online. It's a chess engine but absolutely rocks.. if you're into turn-based strategy, that is.

Off the Flash side, try out Continuum/Sub-Space.. some find it really boring, some really enjoy. It's a matter of preference. Asteroid kind-of shooter except you shoot other players. You'll need about a lag of maximum 280ms to play comfortably. Off this engine are many mods made, some major new facelifts, including one which features a Galatic Civilizations approach (revolving around discovering planets, taken over dominated ones and upgrading your space ship).

Then there's titles such as GunBound. Made for kids and working off an engine like Worms. Eg. Pick your angle, fire and hopefully you land. Miss and you recalibrate next turn. I tried it a couple of times and it's a pretty decent game from a programmers side... if you can bare the 10-year-old approach is another story. I'm not too sure if it's been released yet, but the same company was planning on developing a fighter online multiplayer game running in the medieval era... might be worth checking out if it's released yet.

Lastly... go download some old roms or old PC games. The old PC games can often rival games released today. Not sure if it's just more preference as I was around when they were released, but I'm still able to play such games today. For example, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam 'n Max: Hit the road, Myst... list goes on. If you're interested in that, check out this topic I made. The titles there are beyond holy. Here.

A point I need to make is to check out PsychoGoldfish' Website. He was planning, and most probably working, for months on building a few multiplayer systems so maybe it's a good place to check out. Miniclip.com also has a few multiplayer games.

Topic: alter a song?

Posted: 11/14/05 06:20 AM

Forum: Audio

It could be possible depending on what genre.

R'nB and other similar genres normally release an instrumental and an accapella. You could combine the two together to get the original song and just modify what you want.

It isn't really a smart thing to do though as you'll start breaching copyrights if you intend on using it outside media that is free and commonly used as an 'underground' method of entertainment.

Modifying the original is, like mentioned, close to impossible. When you remove the wave patterns of the vocals, you'll be removing all sounds of that frequency.

Topic: Midi Keyboard Controller

Posted: 11/14/05 05:47 AM

Forum: Audio

I want to get a MIDI keyboard that when I press a key, it plays the instrument/synth key in Fruityloops and other applications that I use. Is this possible or am I misunderstanding the purpose of MIDI?

eg. Instead of using your mouse to play on the built-in keyboard on synths and instruments, I want to be able to use an external MIDI keyboard/controller that will allow me more precise control and multiple/sophisticated keys to be played at once (which is already implemented in Fruityloops but requires the use of a computer keyboard).

Please ask if I've made my question uncertain. Try respond as soon as possible. :) I'm looking to buy my MIDI today if it will serve that purpose.

In summary, just incase I can make myself more clearer, I want to be able to play notes on my MIDI keyboard which will play those notes on the instrument in Fruityloops, at real time.

Topic: Html Question: Just One Background

Posted: 11/14/05 04:24 AM

Forum: Programming

I'll use Newgrounds as an example.

I want to have just one image as the background without it tiling downwards. For example, look at the Grey, Yellow box, then faded grey on the Newgrounds pages.

Is it possible to make the page so that the background only tiles horizontally at the top? (I'll design it so it flows into the background colour chosen for the page)

I'm not sure how to word this question, but I'll throw another page into the story. Go look at the World of Warcraft page. Notice how they use the background image at the top and then it fades to black, where I imagine they'd just use a simple colour as the background instead of an image to save up on time taken for the page to load.

How would I achieve this effect? Do I have to make an underlying table or is there a way to get this through some background code?

I never covered this type of stuff in my short HTML section I did in my CS: Software Design/programming course.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My apologies if I never got my point through.
