The issue here is that one man's trash is another man's treasure. One person will see a new direction in music and go "Man, I love this new stuff!" while others will hate it with a vengeance.

Sometimes a band will change their musical style, not because they need to make more money, but because they want to try something new for a change.

And the smartest band is usually the one that breaks up the moment they know they have no new messages to send across. Hence why Metallica isn't doing so well right now.

I think I'll just stick with Arial since everyone's got it and it's easy to read.

I've got some Year Representative paperwork and resumes to be doing, so work on "Tails and his StarBag" Begins tomorrow. Meh, at least i've got the storyline, so i'm like 1/12 done. Sonic's in for some serious pain.

Just a quick suggestion, that buttons be suited to their classification. Sprite comics - Sprite buttons. Normal comics, Original button currently in use. Toon another buttons. Music Video... Well, you get the picture.

Sounds like a good idea to me...

Anyone mind if I put the lyrics in my submission? Tool's not a band that puts the vocal track up-front in the music, so it may be difficult to hear the vocals and as such, it may make more sense to put the lyrics into the submission.

Thanks. I've only been working on my piece for a couple of hours now, but I'm already about 1/3 done.
Wow, you're flying. Mind posting what you've got so far? You can host it at http://denvish.net/ul/

Actually, I really don't have much done. I've just got the sprites put together, which takes up about 1/3 of my job. I'll post as soon as I've got something, but as the section of the song I'm using is only 1:24, I'll probably be done by the end of the day and post it. Then I'll edit out any bugs over the course of the week.

Good thing I don't have school this week. ^-^

Having been a musical contributor since week 4, I've been following the comics and since I'm starting to grasp Flash, I'd like to say I'd like to throw something in for next week's strip.

I'm thinking the last minute or so of my current favorite song (10,000 Days (Wings, Pt. 2) by Tool).

Any objections?

I like the fact that you guys are back. You, Joey B. (LF), and that guy who's doing the Real Mortal Kombat series are my inspiration for Flash, and I hope to finish mine soon. I'm getting good enough with Flash that I've started making school-related stuff using the program (kinda helps when my high school's computers have Flash).

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for coming back and being cool and stuff. I don't care what you guys make next, whether it's another Decline, another Another Day, TSAH2, or enough some more stuff with LF. Just don't quit.

I'm neutral, though with my BP stats I should be dark. But I don't really care. I'm mostly a wanderer of the Audio Portal anyway. Occasionally I look at Flash stuff, but mostly I do audio so it doesn't matter to me.

I'm neutral because I judge based on the quality of the movie. Unfortunately, most of the under-judgement stuff I look at is abosolute crap.

Meh. Not like I really wanted to join, anyhow. What I really wanted to do was find a voice actor (see previous post) but I suppose I'm gonna get a very sour response on that so I'm just gonna do the voice myself. I was never here.

I'll join! I'm not the greatest voice actor, but I'll give it one heck of a try!

Name: Joshy Brown, aka Joshy676
Gender: Male
Age Range: 12 -29 (Whoopity-Doo! I'm acutally 14)
Specialties: I can sound very annoying, so I can usually grab the nerdy or geeky parts.
Resume: Sorry, don't have one yet.
Example: Can't give you one unless you want it e-mailed to ya'.
Contact me at: Either JoShY676 (AiM), Joshy676 (Yahoo!), or joshy676@yahoo.com

Lemme know if you need me. Also, I'm not sure if I can do this, but I'm in need of a VA who can do wartime general impersonations. Y'know, someone who can sound sorta like Roy Cambell (the colonel from MGS). E-mail me if you're interested. Thanks in advance!

Okay, I'm making a Flash cartoon series, it's one about a small group of people in Australia in an alternate universe taking down a government that rules the rest of the world.
Anyway, without giving too much away, I need a voice actor who can do a good impression of an old war general, preferrably can impersonate Roy Cambell from Metal Gear Solid. I need one just one, so the best one to send me a sound byte of them saying "It looks like the U.S.D. has turned the once-famous landmark Eiffel Tower into a giant ammunition cache and communications tower. Are you carrying the bomb Wolf made for you?".
My e-mail's joshy676@yahoo.com , send me the byte ASAP if you're interested; include your e-mail address so that I can tell you if you have the part or not. Thanks.

Also, I need someone who can make a good clone trooper from Star Wars impression, since there will be many soldiers in the Flash series. Send those to the same e-mail address, include your e-mail too. Thanks again.

Of course. That's the only I way I know how to make fade-outs and fade-ins (did I forget to mention the symbols don't fade in as well?). I should probably just state my steps and then someone can point out a possible problem.

Step One: Make a blank keyframe.
Step Two: Make an object in the blank KF.
Step Three: Convert object to symbol and set its color to Alpha 0%.
Step Four: Add a new KF about a second's worth of frames away.
Step Five: Select symbol in new KF and set its Alpha to 100%.
Step 6: Add a motion tween.
Step 7: Add another KF about 5 seconds' worth of frames over. Don't do anything to it unless you want to.
Step 8: Repeat step Four.
Step 9: Set the new KF's symbol's alpha to 0% and add another motion tween.

As far as I know, this should make the symbol fade in, sit five seconds, and fade out. But on the preview, it instantly appears, sits 7 seconds, and disappears. I didn't do anything wrong, did I?

Hmm... I thought static was my default text. Okay, that's one problem down. Thanks. But I still dunno why the fade-out effect isn't working, though. I know what I'm doing, but it's just not fading out.

Now, I hope I'm not the first to have this problem, but when I try publishing a Flash document to see how it works so far, I have many problems. First and foremost, my fade-out effect (Alpha goes from 100% to 0%, fading the symbol out) does not show up; the symbol sits there until something new shows up. Also, any text I have on-screen shows up one-lined. And hitting enter to start a new line isn't working. I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm also using Flash MX 2004 (Not MX Pro, standard MX).

I was told to post here to get help... I recently decided to make a Flash game for the users out there. But I have several roadblocks. Currently, mr blocks are making links (buttons for the seasoned viewer) from one scene to another. I'd just look at the New Flash Users page, but there's nothing listed. If you know, please post your best answer. Thank you for your time.

Hello. I need help with Flash, and could not get the help I sought from the Flash help page on NG. I need to know what the users like seeing so I don't make stuff that will be blammed beyond belief and I need to know how to make clickable buttons that link one scene to another. If you could help, please do so.
