I have basically finished my long time in the works animation. The only thing is that I need is the put in music. The animation is about war, and the effects. I was hoping I could work with some of you guys to pick out perfect music. I was thinking it would have 3-4 different songs.

Let me know if you would be interested in helping decide on the music selection (of course I would give you credit for the help).

basic flash animation tutorial Posted March 14th, 2011 in Animation

for a college class I have to do a set of instructions. I decided to make it on how to make a basic flash animation. It is as follows. If anyone wants to use it go for it. I was hoping someone would read through it and give some suggestions, maybe something that is not clear or that I left out. I used flash 8 but I don't think there are major difference that would make the instructions not work. This is also just a draft

1) Open Adobe Flash and create a new flash document. Decide on the size of your animation. The area where your animation will take place is called the stage. The normal settings should be at 550 x 400 pixels screen and at 12 frames per second. You can check this by clicking the properties panel on the bottom and click the "size" button. Here you can change all the basic properties of the movie. Decide on the specific animation you'd like to make before you begin. In the case of this set of instruction it is a stick figure walking in a city.
2) Draw or import your image. Using a paint or pencil tool in the tool bar, draw out the image you want. In the outside of the stage draw a stick figure in a walking position.
3) On the timeline go to frame 24 and press f7 (insert>timeline>key frame). F7 creates a new frame and deletes any image in that layer on that specific frame. Hot keys such as f7 make animating much quicker and easier than using the drop down menus.
4) On frame 24 at the opposite side of the stage draw a stick figure walking. The two pictures drawn on frame 1 and 24 make up the first and last pieces of the animation. On frame 1 it is the start of a walk cycle. On frame 24 it is the end of the second walk cycle. The technique of drawing every frame by hand is called frame by frame animation. This technique is useful when drawing dynamic movement such as arms swaying back and forth and legs moving.
5) Click on frame 12 and press f7. Draw a stick figure at the end of a walking stride in the middle of the stage. This drawing is the end of the first walk cycle.
6) Click on frame 6 and press f7. Draw a stick figure in the middle of walking stride. Do the same on frame 18.
7) Now on frame 3 and 15, use f7 and draw a stick figure one fourth the way through a stride. On frame 9 and 21, press f7 and draw a stick figure three fourths the way through a stride.
8) Fill in the rest of the frames (2,4,5,7,8,10,11,13,14,16,17,19,20,22,23 ) with f7 and draw a stick figure walking by connecting the frames you have already drawn. This may seem complicated but Adobe Flash has special features to make this easier. Underneath the timeline there is a button of two overlapping boxes. This is called onion skin. Onion skin gives one the ability to seen transparent versions on the preceding and future frames. Onion skins make it clear what position or part of the walk cycle the stick figure belongs in on each respective frame.
9) On the bottom of the timeline click the add layer tool or insert>timeline> add layer . Make sure the new layer (layer 2) is underneath layer one of the time line. For each new color you draw with, create a new layer by going to Insert, Timeline, and New Layer. This gives you the ability to edit each layer individually instead of having to redraw your entire image once you've made a change or erased too much. There is also the option of importing an image, which you can do by going to File>Import>Image into library/stage.
10) Click the rectangle tool or press R, and draw a grey box at the feet of the stick figure. Make the box go all the way across stage. This box is a side walk the stick figure is walking on.
11) Add another layer and make sure it is below both layer 1 and 2. Draw a darker gray box that goes from the side walk up, and covers that entire portion of the white box. This is a background building. The amount of detail on the building is left up to the animator. Some animators use a profound amount of detail and will draw every brick. Beginner animators may want to practice adding some detail so adding a door and windows could be beneficial for practicing.
12) Add another layer which should be behind all the other layers. This layer will contain a black road and can be drawn with the rectangle tool. Now the animation has a side walk, building, road, and a stick figure walking across the screen.
13) The last part of the animation will be a car driving across the road. Draw or import an image of a car the same way as listed above. Turn this car into a symbol. In order to create this aspect of the animation you need to create a symbol. To make the car a symbol select the entire car and right click. Select "Convert to Symbol." Name the symbol car and make sure it is a move clip. A symbol creates a subsection under your main "Scene." In order to access the parts of this, double click on the blue outlined image.
14) On frame 6 put the car outside of the stage on the right side. Position the car as if it is on the road. On frame 11 move the car horizontally to the other side of the stage. Click in between frames and right click. Select "Create Motion Tween".
15) Highlight the frames 6 through 11 and right click. Select "Copy Frames". Right click on frame 17. Select "Paste Frames." This copy and pastes the motion tween created in step 14, but extends the amount of frames passed 24. Highlight the extra frames and right click. Select "Remove Frames."
16) Press control + enter or Control> Test Movie. This exports the movie so only the stage is shown. It plays all 24 frames of the animation and repeats. What the animation should look like is a stick figure walking across a sidewalk in a city over and over again. At the same time a car passes by much faster than the stick figure.

Christianity on the other hand is a offspring of Judaism but they believe in a different type of god. today, christianity and judaism are completely different religions. but the reasons they do not get along is purely political. Very religious jews, muslims, and christians all believe in co-existing. Meanwhile very extreme jews muslims and christians believe they are always right and therefore other religions cannot be tolerated.

Yo my friend did vector shit.. In fact he still does it.

I reality I think its a scam but potentially you really can make a shit ton of money.

It matters how much you put into it. If you put little or no effort in you will make nearly nothing, meanwhile if you work 10 hours a day 5 days a week you can make probably a couple thousand in a summer.

My friend was a great salesman and got to the point where he made %50 commission. Also now he runs an office in Connecticut and he's only 20. There is potential in Vector but if you ask me I say skip it and look for a real job that is more stable.

there is such thing as good and evil, but it is relative. Ones own moral codes can decide whether some action is good or bad. While people may do the opposite, to oneself evil does exist. Ultimately this is what religion is for. It creates moral codes. It defines what is good and evil for all of humanity. Most religions have rules and regulations. Good and Evil are just constructs of social interaction thus people raised by wolves may find it fine to slaughter humans and eat them (as their family would) but people raised in a regular community would probably experience some sort of moral code.

This is the strongest aspect of religion. Screw the spiritual connection you get from religion. Take it for what it is and understand religion = rules for living "good".

while gold steadily increases in value, it doesn't by much. Buying gold is a sham by fox. You can invest in government bonds which are technically risk free and make more money than gold.

Second China is not in economically superior to America. While they do produce a shit ton of stuff, it is not Chinese who buy it. Rather Americans buy Chinese products. It is America's strong economy which drives the economies of the rest of the world. China practices ways of embellishing their economy. For instance they employ construction workers to build cities. The only thing is that people do not live in the cities.

While they may look strong because they are so big, China can not stand on its own. The country relies on other countries to drive its economy.

Another thing to note is that the average income for a Chinese person is about 5000-7000 dollars. For Americans it is five fold. ranging from 28,000-35,000 dollars.

America is the dominant force in the world as far as Economics go. While we are in a recession, we are the first to bounce back and ultimately still the strongest, IN THE WORLD.

the star cannot become a supernova or black hole because it would have to be larger than the sun to do that... and this cannot be any larger than the earth (it will probably be tiny)

this isn't really a star. Its just going to be mass going through nuclear fussion... instead of fission. A nuclear bomb breaks up atoms (called nuclear fission) and this only extracts about 6% of the energy.

Nuclear fussion on the other hand is MUCH MUCH harder to do and combines atoms. Thats how stars work and is much much more efficient. Depending on what kind of element they fuse it can be nearly 95% efficient. Saying they are going to make a star is sensationalism.

SO THIS IS GREAT!!!!! no more future energy crisis!

heres the deal. I read that about 70% of wikipedia articles are written by and moderated by professionals in there respective fields. Thats a large percentage. Wikipedia is actually pretty reliable especially with all the funding they have recently gotten.

What teachers do NOT like is that fact that it is an encyclopedia. It is a general source leaving out many details. Teachers want you to find information that isn't general and rather very specific. Books are written about 1/100 of a wikipedia article. I guarantee you that if you cited encyclopedia britanica you're teachers would be just as mad.

Use wikipedia as a starting source. Use the links they cite as your main sources and get more specific, "Good" information.

so clearly there are initial conditions we CAN NOT control (i.e. the big bang) but that does not mean we have no say from this point. atoms cannot control their existence, but humans have the ability to choose. so it's almost half and half... it is the initial conditions that make us choose... which affect the next set of conditions we must choose, for both ourselves and others. So outcomes are affected by our choices, and all other predetermined factors determined by other peoples choices.

i never took any classes or anything to learn how to draw.

this is what I would do. Go get a pencil and a pad of paper.

look in the mirror and draw your face. but not an entire face. Piece by piece. draw your nose over and over until you understand how to draw it. draw your ears over and over. do this for all parts of your face.

then look down at your hand. look at all the pieces, every finger, every joint. try and map it out with circles and lines. get the proportions right.

get the proportions right...
thats everything... once you get the proportions right everything starts coming together.
that goes for the face as well.

look at your body and try to SEE the proportions. then go check online and find actual proportions of your body. you'll be surprised to find certain things. For instance

Here are a list of standard facial proportions that can give you a good idea of ideal proportions.

The eyes are halfway between the top of the head and the chin.
The bottom of the nose is halfway between the eyes and the chin.
The mouth is halfway between the nose and the chin.
The corners of the mouth line up with the centers of the eyes.
The top of the ears line up above the eyes, on the eyebrows.
The bottom of the ears line up with the bottom of the nose.

don't draw anime either. I used to and I found once I stopped I was able to become better faster.

last piece of advice, draw everyday. You will see daily improvements in your skills, but not dramatic ones. In a month if you compare your art to what you do now you will realize your improvement

don't get me wrong here. I think america needs health reform. But the way the american government went about this whole process is pretty damn stupid. EVERYONE failed to recognize the fundamentals of economics. Has anyone ever learned about the demand curve? where the supply and demand curve meet is the equilibrium, and that is the price set for anything, lets say.... HEALTHCARE

this new reform bill is going to make that demand curve go wayyy out, in fact 30 million people out. Which drives the price of healthcare way up! All people do is complain about taxes, but since we are in a recession we need to raise taxes, and even more because of healthcare. Also if you don't want to use the governments healthcare your own plan is going to go up anyways... basically everyone is fucked.

ALSO!!! I've been reading about all these politicians who after passing the bill now have to change their own and their employees healthcare packages to a different one regulated by the government or something. They are all outraged because they didn't know the plan they passed would make them have to do that. Clear evidence that they didn't even read the bill!!!!!!!!!

these are blatant issues, and i'll be damned if I have to pay for them in 20 years (which i'll fucking have too!)
