***PLEASE READ THIS:***

Now this is the first year I have ever done anything like this and I have to say this is a great turn out for being right between TOFA and the Game Jam. Next year I will post it in a better time zone. Or it begins June 1st and the other contests can move. It'll be a game of chicken. Anyway I am grateful for all who helped me out with this especially our sponsor SketchyEntertainment. I just wish to avoid confusion Sketch could have posted AVAT (Artist versus Artist Tournaments.) Not with the same name..
I would also like to thank Tom Fulp for giving us Store credit to give to the winning team :D
Every team can use their own frame rate and stage size. And use your own programs your not limited to Flash.

***Teams***

Now I am a bit confused. Some teams haven't gotten back to me on whether they've worked it out with the other team mates. So I decided If you see this post and want to participate just post your team name and members so I know your in and if you submit your entry by the deadline you are in the competition.

***Deadline***

The deadline for round 1 will be July 4th.
Each Judge's vote is worth 20 points. They give up to 20 points for your team so they have alot of power. One Judge could be the difference between winning and losing. Do some research and understand their likes and dislikes.
If you submit your Movie one hour late it's 10 points off and etc etc.
When you submit your Movie tag it with
AVAT2011

***Rules***

No explicit racism
No nudity unless it is blurred
Swearing must be limited and if possible not used at all
Don't make a fake team and submit shit just so you can get attention.
Credit Voice actors
Be original
Other than those there aren't many rules.

***Theme***

The theme for Round 1 will be.........

Commercials!

This means you can make a movie trailer, an infomercial, a television show teaser etc.
Just be original please!
I don't want to add so much information that your ideas are skewed by rules so I'll keep it short and sweet.

Well playing with focus is easy with a Vcam.
and u dont get alot of money from the revenue system, if you want to get money as an animator do it as a job for real. Most of us just animate cuz its fun :D

I'm actually deaf.
And i may be completely deaf before i reach adult hood :(
I am deaf in my right ear and i have tinnutus (look it up.)
It's basically when you hear static when you hear a certain tone. You hear the static instead of the frequency and it's freaken annoying and it hurts bad. :/
I do NOT know sign language becuase i am an idiot. When i go fully deaf i am screwed.
Its weird cuz i am an amazing singer :O

Eh i prefer to animate as well. I am good with FBF movement i dont think ive ever tweened in my life O.o
How i beleive we shuld go about this is like this.
For every animation we have a position rotation.
POSITIONS
Person1-LeadAnimator/Writer as well
Person2-Lead Writer/Storyboard (to keep their take on the story.)
Person3-Animatic/ Animation Timing (Sounds must match. In charge of getting sounds.)
Person4-Organizer/Leader
Person5-CharacterDesign and Effect Artist

So what does the UltraMagnetix people think?
Honestly I think Falz needs to be in charge of the intense movements of a character he is great with that stuff!
I think TeraBiter would be the best for animatic and effects. 3D stuff you do.
I think PivotXXD should team with me on more character based animation. and humor writing.
I also can write intense stories I'm the best writer in my class :D (more like grade but im being modest.)
I think FurryNG shuld do effects AND writing

So I want a club for only people with a handicap.
I myself am Deaf in my left ear and I have Tinnitus which is static cuased by a damaged cochlea which is in my right ear. Basically if i don't be careful I can go deaf completely.

So do you have a handicap?

Well.. you could skip rough drafting and storyboarding but the results may suffer. If you want fast good quality animation then team up with several other artists

You have to be good at drawing to be good at animating.
I have been drawing for 10 years and animating for 2 or 3
Can you see the contrast? Animate with NOT sticks but rough body for a while until your good enough drawer to add facial features excetera excetera.
I take it your not 10 years old like i was when i started so dont go to pivot.
Seriously dont do it its a waste of a year of animation.
