Haha I agree, you cant teach someone how to create music, you can teach someone how to copy music thats already made, or create similar music, but the real music comes from within, and the people who are great at mastering should work with the people great at music to create amazing tunes

Okay im going to try and make my point now to the good people of NG AP without sounding like a moaney little bitch or a sour little bitch or a little bitch or any kind, this is just genuine concern here for the future of music.

I dont know what it is, new members, something in the air, media? But the people of NG AP seem to be applauding others for making songs exactly the same as songs in the mainstream over innovation and originality. Like someone will make a very generic rnb tune well mastered and will get endless kudos, or someone will make an extremely generic trance track well mastered and will also get kudos, but then someone will come in and create an original or sub genre track and will get slated or will get told tips to make it more mainstream.

Correct me if im wrong but I thought newgrounds was about innovation, and sticking a finger up to mainstream, not about blatantly following it and looking down on those who oppose it. We need to stop applauding mastering skills and start appreciating great innovation again, like we used to!

If you disagree and think im just selecting a few tracks that i have heard and havent bothered looking into it, challenge me, but ive been through most of the top 50 songs and I stand by whats written up there.

If your looking for something user friendly then FL is probably best for you, but just cause its easy to use doesnt means its weak, you will need a bit of practice and some decent VSTi to create decent sounding stuff tho (google free vst vsti)

ive tryed loads of instruments and eqs and i cant get close to that, mainly because i dont know what it is im looking for, somebody called it a "reese" once, but ive never heard that before or since

I play guitar, keyboard and drums for 7, 9 and 1 year(s) respectively, but I cant read music for shit! It would take me about half an hour to translate a 2 minute piece of sheet music.

Its all tabs and memory for me : )

There's been plenty of decent MAC ideas, but why don't we give the admins a hand at deciding what would be good next, throw some ideas into this topic and lets see what happens.

I had a random idea, how about an entirely vocal based MAC? As in every instrument is emulated using voice, so beatboxing, acapella, anything you can do with your voice and a mic basically. If you dont have a mic or interface you could cut samples (http://www.stonewashed.net brilliant site for free samples)

Any better ideas?

Isnt it damn annoying when you spend ages writing a track untill you think its ready to go on the AP

Then you put it up and it gets pushed straight off the top page with 9 listens and into the depths of the audio portal where it will probably not be listened to again.

That does suck :(

just get up fruity loops (or whatever you use) and just start writing, dont try to make it sound like anything, or even good, just start with one note and just keep putting ones you think sound good after it then maybe a bit of drum or a chord underneath keep going and hopefully you get a snowball effect. :D

nah thats not the case at all...

only about 96 of the song would get played live because the majority of the world just listen to what there told to by the media.

a lot more of them are worth playing live, but probably never will be

and people here (mostly) dont make music too get big, just because they have idea and want to be able to hear them produced and show others... getting big would just be an amazing bonus!!

for anyone who uses FL, how do you get rid of that horrible wave/beach sound that you get from using toxic III and poizone, i already though of exporting all my patterns but thats annoying so im looking for a cheap way of doing it ;D
