Has anyone ever found some sort of generator that can take traits and such and return possible traits for the child or something?

Response to: aim question? Posted January 14th, 2007 in General

The thing is, I use DEADAIM which won't work with the newer aims, and like I said, i don't like the new aim layout, so i wanna hack the old one.

aim question? Posted January 14th, 2007 in General

Is there any way to hack an older vsion of AIM (5.2 in this case) to be able to send an offline IM? That is, remove the popup message alerting me that the user is offline and allow the message to go through regularly? Because I can recieve offline IMs, but I'd like to send them out too, and I refuse to upgrade because I can't stand the new layout of everything.

Yeah, just do that... what's the significance of using those other methods?

I don't know if that's sarcastic or not, but if you're serious, then here's my answer:
Every operating system they've released has had tons of bugs that weren't worked out before release. That's why many people wait like 6 months to a year until they get it, that way it won't have so many bugs. Unfortunately, they always seem to find new bugs in windows software, hence 'windows updates'.

Response to: E-mailing variables Posted December 30th, 2006 in Game Development

Oh and PHP isn't the only langauge you can use, you could use ASP or PERL or something else, but PHP is the easiest to learn, its free, and I'm pretty sure it's still the fastest.

Response to: E-mailing variables Posted December 30th, 2006 in Game Development

Like when the flash runs, and someone clicks a button or it gets to a frame or something, a variable name and value is sent in an email to you?

Like I'm playing a game and when i click a button it sends the variable SCORE of the value 1337, and you get an email that contains something like:
SCORE=1337
or
The variable SCORE contains the value 1337

or something like that?

If so, you'll need to use PHP, a server-side programming language with ActionScript.

see php.net
NOTE: you need to have a server that has php installed handy..

also see PHP:MAIN

good luck

Response to: how do i fix my colors?! Posted December 30th, 2006 in General

At 12/30/06 09:26 PM, MadCow wrote: The dot next to the H should be filled in, you have the dot next to the B filled in, so it made it all weird and whatnot :P

I don't know why it's like that, I just know that it fixes it.

LOL thanks, I feel stupid :/

but the reason it works is because that changes the picker to Hue mode, making the up/down bar change the hue, S works with saturation, and B works on brightness.. I just didn't realize the change was right there :P.

and to Yoyodog76, it does not belong in Wi/Ht, because doesn't the description of that forum say its for things that relate to NG?

how do i fix my colors?! Posted December 30th, 2006 in General

I don't know what I did but I must have clicked something because my color picker in Photoshop is different than normal. How do I put it back to the normal mode?

In other words, where do I go to change my color picker mode?

data is never truly erased? Posted December 29th, 2006 in Programming

I've heard many times that data is never truly erased from a computer. Like if a file is deleted, it's never completely gone. Would someone please explain why and how this happens. And what is the solution to fully remove data?

I don't think it'd be hard for them to add it in now, I just think they don't want to. And it's not called a "name=" it's an anchor or a hyperlink with a name attribute.

Response to: hack firefox extensions Posted December 10th, 2006 in Programming

But that could lead to bugs, the whole reason extensions are set to specific versions is because different versions of firefox have altered source code. Something might not be compatible with the new source code and could lead to bugs, they have versions extensions are for as a security feature so that nothing bad will happen to your fox. So that it won't be all buggy.

But you already knew that.

firefox Posted December 5th, 2006 in Programming

I would have asked this in general but they'd probably just flame me or something, so I'm asking here because I believe a better answer will be given.

I just updated my version of the iFoxSmooth theme to the most current version 2.4.1 I restarted firefox and it still says it will be installed when I restart firefox. I've restarted firefox, reinstalled firefox, and reinstalled the theme several times but it still won't install because it continues to tell me that I need to restart firefox. How can I fix this?
