was wondering how you go about making an asteriods type game, what kinda code would be involved, It's an asteriods type game where you blow the rocks apart and get minerails that are left behind once you get the mineral you can return to different bases where you can sell them and buy power ups/items that you can use to defend yourself against the ships you encounter.

will this for only an fps shooter? or will this work on a platform game as well? thanks Jeff

1. draw the enemy guy
2. press F8 and make him MOVIE CLIP!!!!!
3. put 'stop' in his first frame.
4. starting on the second frame, do an animation of him being killed, however many frames long. put 'stop' on the last frame.
5. go back to the first frame and make the guy a button, or just the guy's head or body or whatever a button, depending on what you have to click to kill him
6. on the button actions do...
on(press) <---not release!!
play ()
7. now when you try out the movie, and click him, he will die.

Anyways, here's how to do it in non-flash terms.
You define your 3d world using a modeler of some sorts. Then import it into Flash. Then you would also have to define the camera(in other words, what the player sees). And that's half the battle.

true, i was thoinking of doing frames by hand and then scanning them into flash, would that be too much memory used to scan?

i was playing a paintball game at flash-games.net and wanted to know how 3-d movement was achieved, you could strafe left and right, move back and forward aiming was done by a mouse with the left click firing your marker (gun), I would like to know what was used in this flash game to make it act like a 3-d shooter, thanks Jeff
