As for the revolver massacring the Indians, just no. It was a good gun, no doubt about it, but its only feasible application would be self defense in no further than 50 yards. Logic would dictate that a pistol(revolver in this case) would not be accurate in sharpshooting or just straight out volleys. I can confidently say that most fights that broke out in the West between Union Soldiers and Indians was staged from further than 50 yards apart. So you're probably thinking about a rifle, that or you've just seen too many "Cowboys n' Injuns" movies.
