A prank call I made when I was 15.

A clip of me singing, also from age 15.

And this is why I don't sing for anything. Haha

Main colors would include green and blue, preferably very similar to said icon. Add a little extra if it feels bland or wrong to you.
All in all, I just want something that represents me as a voice actor, and fits my persona well. I'd like to catch eyes a bit more in the forums, since this is as much of a subtle advertising ground as it is a community.

Just reiterating my request! Hopefully someone will be willing to help me out.

1. Look for competitions. These are usually on shorter schedules, and they need someone fast. Just start offering yourself up via PM, and you're bound to get a few projects. Plus they're more likely to deliver.

2. Watch for animators with a lot of potential, but who have yet to make their names here. Shoot them a PM with a compliment, and offer yourself up as a voice actor in case they ever need one.

3. Check the Voice Actor Wanted thread once in awhile, and offer your voice up for... Well, pretty much everything. It's useful.

I haven't been in a lot of submissions, but I also hadn't been very active in voice acting until recently. I was about to start on my own cartoons, since I had an animator to work with. My writing, voice acting, and general audio; his animation. But he got bummed by a rejected college audition, so he's quit animating and drawing for a few months.
Now I'm looking for busy work to get my name out there.

Though my girlfriend is an amazing artist. Now I just have to force her to animate for me.

At 5/5/13 10:15 AM, i-am-ghey wrote: i have another question: should cardio be done before or after weight training?

personally, i think it makes more sense to do cardio exercises after weight training (which is what i am doing). for me, i usually do not have the strength to complete weight training if cardio exercise is done first. i find it much easier to do weight training first.

from what i have heard, this has something to do with the blood glucose level. cardio exercise burns glucose, and after the workout, your body will not have enough blood glucose to complete weight training.

or is it inadvisable to complete both aerobic and strength training on the same day?

Well, seeing as weight training should usually encompass five or six days a week, you sort of have to do them on the same day.

Personally, I like to spread them out entirely. I might work on muscle building when I get home around 4pm, then do cardio before I go to bed around 10 or 11. It allows you to have plenty of energy for each.
Of course, some people would prefer to run in the morning, so there's that too.
But I just like running in the dark.

Either way though, doing them in succession will inevitably take something away from the other.

So, if you're planning on gaining muscle mass, weights come first.
If you're looking to burn fat, cardio comes first.

It's all about your focus.

Even if it's not too amazing or flashy, it really can be hard for voice actors to gain exposure.
This way, our work pays off a little more. And who knows? Maybe we'll get a few more commissions!
I've personally gotten a few just because of that submission, and it's been great.

Hayden Christensen and Channing Tatum.

I can't get into the films they're in, because they just seem so unnatural. It really breaks up the movie.

That's like comparing Slipknot to Katy Perry.

Response to: "Curvy" Women Posted May 9th, 2013 in General

I'll admit I've had similar thoughts on the "Curvy" claims from certain women. Being bigger does not make you curvy. It makes you bigger.

However

This does not mean that every woman has her place. Different men are attracted to different women, and vise-versa. I know men who like their women to be enormous, and I know women who like their men to be sticks. It evens out.

Personally? I like a girl who is somewhat health conscious. Maybe working out every once in awhile for a little tone, and eating decently healthily. This is partially because I work at it myself. I prefer to look good, and subsequently feel good.

But another factor to consider is that everyone has their healthy weight.

Certain people are healthy at alarmingly low body fat levels. It's just how they are, and it looks right.
Inversely, some people look healthy with quite a bit of extra padding - and they can pull it off damn well.

Again, it's all about what looks and feels healthy. If you're trying to be healthy, then you're all the more worth it in my book. Whether healthy is 50lbs of extra fat or a near lack thereof.

Still, I tend to prefer a little extra on the hips, legs, and butt.
Wink wink
Response to: Vegetarians and vegans Posted May 9th, 2013 in General

Honestly? If it makes them happy, I'm in full support.
However, I don't necessarily agree with their logic. Studies suggest more and more that plants are complex beings, feeling pain and maybe even emotion. So the idea is essentially a more inclusive version of anti-cannibalism. We rule out beings even remotely similar to us, and only stop when they seem significantly different. It's racist, I tell you!

But in all seriousness, we have to get sustenance somehow, which means something will always die for the well being of another. At this point, we've created an equilibrium, and it would be illogical to try and alter it. We'll only disrupt the food web.

Also, in the realm of things such as bovine milk: I've noticed a number of vegans claiming that cows only need to produce excess milk because cultivators artificially inseminate them. But this is completely unfounded. It's true that farmers attempt to hasten the process by which the milk is created, but cows produce milk whether its for offspring or not.

This was probably due to domestication, I will admit, but its an irreversible evolutionary process.

Ultimately, I really don't agree with the vegan lifestyle in particular, but I have no issue with either persuasion.
Like I said, if it makes you happy, and no one is harmed... All the power to you.
All I ask is that you respect that your belief system is simply that, as is mine. It is not inherently wrong to eat meat. It's in our nature. Defy it if you will, but do not condemn me for it.

I still suck, since I refuse to spend more than 30 minutes on any one song, and never learned to EQ. Or do anything of importance, really.

But on the bright side, I figured out that you don't have to use the Step Sequencer in FL Studio for everything once I discovered the Piano Roll. So my songs are no longer 7 seconds long.

Why are you here?
Don't try to ruin the experience for everyone else. If they decide they don't like it, so be it. But don't try to sabotage a website you were undoubtedly influenced by.

In my opinion? It's true that General isn't for everyone. But the forums have a lot to offer, especially for those who pursue some sort of art form. I personally make good use of the audio forums, and actually learn a great deal of interesting things from General.

Give it a try, and see for yourself.
It's all in personal preferences.
