So, I still have some store credit left over ($20), and at this point it doesn't seem to have any purpose. Will it be able to contribute toward the supporter fee, or is it entirely null now?

Even female bodybuilders tend not to be particularly muscular, due to much lower levels of testosterone. So long as you maintain a healthy amount of body fat, you shouldn't become ripped or anything.
I would, however, recommend building muscle in certain areas, particularly legs. Increased muscularity in the lower body can help create disparity between the two halves, making your upper body appear slimmer by contrast.

Deadlift for the booty, squats for quads, calf raises for calves (lol), etc. Lunges and whatnot aren't a bad idea, either.

Don't worry about becoming too muscular. If it were that easy, every guy would be buff!

It is for me. I have zero talent as an artist, but at least marginal talent as an actor.

The problems of the future, today! Posted June 14th, 2014 in General

I was just skimming through my old photos, and found this little guy. Got all nostalgic.

I discovered Newgrounds when I was about nine years old, through Funnyjunk. Funnyjunk had a couple of flash videos (mostly Eddsworld and Hyperboy), and I immediately fell in love with them. I've always been a massive fan of cartoons, and the discovery that there was a place online specializing in them was enough to give my little autistic brain a rush of euphoria.

I browsed for a couple of years, before making my first account in '07, which I had planned to use as a medium for my badass flash cartoons that Egoraptor would aspire to. I was gonna be huge.

Of course, then I found out that my ability to draw was shit, so I scrapped that dream after one or two delusional years.

Since then, Newgrounds has continued to be a huge part of my life, for better or worse. A Newgrounds sticker on my laptop, NG posters on my walls, a small collection of NG apparel, a couple of years as a moderator in the Radio Chat, and aspirations directly inspired by this community.

I still retain empty dreams of voice acting professionally someday.

So what's your story? What does Newgrounds mean to you? Maybe I'm just a lonely romantic, and maybe this is just another web domain, but Newgrounds and the community within has truly shaped me as an individual. It will always have a special place in my heart.

I'm getting all emotional, guys.

Being made up of older materials does not make the ship itself older. The first entirely crafted ship qualifies as the first ship, so the new planks make up the older ship.

I'd actually recommend not doing cardio. Your body gets used to it, and I've yet to see someone get good results from cardio alone.
Personally, I don't do cardio because A. I'm asthmatic and B. I hate cardio.
I just do a lot of weightlifting, which has done wonders for my physique. I lost my fat (We have a family history of big-uns with an immunity to weight-loss), gained muscle, and generally feel 234908234x better.

I hate to be that douche, but this is an earlier result of my diet and exercise. I've gained muscle since, but also a little extra fat along with it.

In middle school, a few guys in the bathroom were obsessing over their new-found ability to produce "milk" from their nipples.
I tried explaining that they were just squeezing them so hard that an oily puss was exuding from their teats, but they preferred the novelty of male lactation.

I actually have a level of gynecomastia (male breast development), though it is still rather fibrous. Until it is solidified, it may very well be the temporary result of hormonal changes in adolescent men. However, my father has retained his breasts into his fifties, so I may not be so lucky. It's not really noticeable, though. For the most part, my nipples are just puffy.

Response to: Autism & Aspergers should be separa Posted June 14th, 2014 in General

The symptoms are identical. The only perceived difference is an emphasis on certain symptoms over others, while maintaining high functionality.

At the moment, they are classified as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Level 1, 2, or 3. Level 1 being high functioning, with the capability of living with little to no assistance into adulthood, and level 3 being low functioning, with significant mental retardation and complete inability to function without assistance.

"Asperger's Syndrome" would almost exclusively be level 1, with an emphasis on social ineptitude and obsessive behaviors.

The generalized treatment is essentially the same, bearing in mind that every single person with an ASD is different from everyone else, as a result of the spectral nature of it. Eliminating semantics allows experts to focus on treating the individuals.

Response to: Gay Pride Parade Posted June 13th, 2014 in General

While I strongly support the concept of a gay pride parade, I feel that the message has been lost over the years.
To me, a gay pride parade should consist of gay men and women capitalizing on the fact that they are literally just like everyone else, but with a different sexual preference. The parades have become hypersexualized, perpetuating every oversexed stereotype in the book. It tells people that homosexuality is a product of sexual deviance, and that seems counterproductive to me.

However, the level of acceptance is quickly rising all the time, so it's possible that my concerns are unwarranted.

People who are genuinely autistic tend to be hard to deal with, and so when someone who actually has autism becomes obsessed with something, say furries, and you insult them for that, they become ballistic 90% of the time.

It's not really their faults, I just wish that people didn't associate liking furries to being autistic because of the fact that the only people who ever act like that actually do have autism.

I'm a diagnosed autistic, and I've grown to the point of docility. When I was younger, I could be very rash when something did not compute for me, but I've learned that it's necessary for me to take every possible step to empathize with a person's train of thought.
I guess it's just that, in order to avoid generalizing a group, you're generalizing another group.
I'm really not offended at all, but something just seems off about this to me.

One of the biggest issues is that, for a talented animator, the best thing you can provide is popularity; a boost to their fan-base. Someone who has already garnered some acclaim isn't likely to work with people with requests unless they have a larger following, since they're already bogged enough with their own pursuits. That said, they may very well commission people of equal or lesser popularity to perform tasks that they may not be so proficient with, such as voice acting, music, or programming. But unless they seek you out (as a result of advertising oneself), they're really not likely to work with you unless you can benefit them - and rightfully so.

Pokemon are portrayed to be very intelligent creatures, on par with humans in many ways. In some ways, they may even be of superior (Interspecial communication for instance) intellect. They are subject to emotional dismay and trauma, as well as proficiency in memorization and problem-solving skills.

I'd wager that they would remember where they came from, and possibly harbor a lifelong disdain for humans.

Biker bars.
All bikers are actually animators.
The secret code is, "I would like a threesome with your mother."
Say it to any biker, and I guarantee he will immediately begin working on a project with you.

In all seriousness, you will not have any luck finding someone to work with you unless you have some tangible evidence that you can actually do something. Even as a bottom-feeding voice actor, I'm typically not inclined to provide voices for someone who can't give me an example of their capabilities, particularly a completed project.

Anything but. Traffic has slowed significantly in the last decade, as online flash gaming sites have become a dime a dozen.
Obviously Newgrounds is still very unique in its content and capabilities, especially the coexistence of flash games, flash movies, art, audio, and a cohesive community that does not inherently consist of creators or even frequent viewers.

As for the movies and games calming down, the answer is... sort of.
In its earliest years, Newgrounds was almost entirely made up of shock content, partially because the contributors were not often people who truly aspired to become animators or game-makers. It was more a source of distraction, relief, and fun.

As time progresses, a greater portion of contributors are driven by a desire to appeal to an audience. They wish to create content that people will enjoy. This means that a greater percentage of submissions will be more tame, akin to something you might see on television.

That said, there are still numerous contributors whose material is as weird as its ever been. Doki, Krinkels, FelixColgrave, etc.
The alternative entertainment will never die. We're just maturing in our aspirations; branching out.

Keep in mind that these skewed physics tend to apply to humans in most games and cartoons as well, including the Pokemon anime, in which humans will (often comically) experience similar trauma, but withstand no permanent damage.

As for the mortality of pokemon, it's important to note that these battles are less like cock fights and more like sparring matches - except that the boxers are slaves who just happen to enjoy what they're doing. The battle typically ends in a KO of sorts, as opposed to some sort of death match.

In one of the earliest episodes of the anime, a charmander was nearly killed by the rain, which would have put out the flame on his tail.

I guess that depends on your definition of a cowboy.
If we're talking actual cowboys, who basically herded cattle over long distances... Well, the pirates sort of have an edge in combat.
If we're talking about the heroic gunslingers from the romanticized wild west, then the cowboys would win due to land advantage and improved weaponry.
