I don't know, I'm just not into it right now. I've been trying to do some cooler stuff but it just isn't happening. Maybe later.

That's pretty cool, I really like the robot's design and colors, the only problem I see is the clouds. I think they could be a bit more detailed maybe use a smaller brush. The large stroke thing doesn't really translate well to pixel.

Response to: Castle crashers parody criticm Posted January 20th, 2013 in Art

Even though this has been largely resolved I really feel like replying to this so I'm going to.

I am very very disturbed by the unprompted maliciousness that not only kicked off this thread but has kind of been floating around the forums as of late. The first two comments were awful and made me cringe a little to read them because they were just so rude and useless. When I started out in the forum I sucked. Not only at drawing but as a functioning artist, I didn't receive criticism very well and was overall kind of a little shit to some of the users. But I kept posting and kept hanging around and eventually became a regular and eventually(er) a pretty good artist. At this point in my life I am looking at going to art school and art encompasses a massive portion of my life, and I couldn't be happier about that.

But honestly if when I posted the first Meat-Head here back in 2009 and was met with this kind of bullshit, like hell I'd stick around this place. I'd have been out of here; why would I stick around these douchebags who didn't even have enough decency to point out why my drawings (which I thought were kind of the shit) sucked? The past four years of my life could have been way different because sticking around here is why I am as good at drawing as I am today.

Escalus, Template and anyone else who in the future decides that pulling something like this on a newcomer, remember you are their first impression of what the art forum is all about to necomers, whether you like it or not. It's okay to tell someone they suck, this is Newgrounds after all and not sunshiney happy asspat land, but maybe don't be a total prick and tell them why their art sucks. Critique them.
Okay I'm done.

Response to: Looking for a storyboard Artist Posted January 12th, 2013 in Art

At 1/12/13 10:10 PM, inkedpen1 wrote: I have a script that is 109 pages and it needs a decent storyboard artist whom is able to go back and forth discussing details and imaging.

If you are able to dedicate your time please contact me asap. I also will credit the artist to their design once it is finished.

Thanks,

I.P

I think you should tell us a little bit about what your story is about. What kind of stuff do you need drawn, is it Set in space? at sea? modern suberbia? just so people have an idea of what you're asking for.
Also what exactly is the story behind it? What are you going to do with our storyboard? Live action movie? Comic book? Animation? Do you have any prior experience with this sort of thing? Are you going to make money off of this thing? (I imagine you plan on it at least.) If so you're really going to need to offer some better compensation such as a percentage of the profits if you don't pay up front.
a 109 page script is not a small task. Asking for free work on that sort of thing is a really hard bargain when the artists here have lives of their own and other obligations.

Answer those questions and you might be able to get a better response. Best of luck

I think you should stick to the sketchbook for a while. I know you use vector programs mostly but I think that if you were to focus on the sketchbook you could improve on your characters form and shape faster, get past the kind of flat look they all seem to have. Lately I've been seeing a lot of busts from you, which is fine but you're not going to get better with the bodies without practice.
I do like your super man portrait thing. Its got a nice mix of your style and more "correct" anatomy.

Response to: Art thread of M.Maher Posted December 29th, 2012 in Art

You know Maher, I've been watching your thread for a while now and I've got to say that I think you are much more capable than what is presented. In every post I see a part or section that looks really good and seems like you spent a lot of time on; unfortunately it is brought down by the rest which is either too big, too small, sketchy, or just poorly laid out. I think if you just put abit more time in to any single piece and a bit more planning you're work will really start to stand out.
Right now the most notable thing you could work on is not only anatomy but the poses you put your characters in are very awkward and stiff. You should also keep in mind the size and shape of the arms which seem to vary a lot In your drawings.
There's a lot more to be said that may help you, but I'm doing this from my phone so, yeah. Put a bit more work Into your stuff.

Also I forgot to say that I'll be mailing these out on Friday. So you're probably not going to get them till after christmas. And I'll be writing a little message on them if I love you enough, if not I'll scribble a dick or something on the back (I won't). After Friday I'm not sending anymore.

Response to: The Meat-heads By Jack Posted December 20th, 2012 in Art

Sup Dudes and dudettes, I've got a few of these christmas cards left over that have no home. I can afford to send about six more out depending on how far away you guys get to be. If you want one pm me your address, if I get too many I'm going to prioritize who gets one based on how well I know you. So basically if you're on stickam you've got an edge.
Merry Christmas n' stuff everyone.

PS to anyone scared that I may come and murder you in your sleep don't worry I've already chosen Aigis as my future decorative lamp shade.
