First thing, I notice I am not to great at landscapes/backgrounds, and I don't know how to approach it to better improve, does anyone have any tips on this subject?
The best thing you can do to improve on drawing landscapes is type "landscapes" into google images and draw what you see. As for backgrounds for interiors, again, just draw what you see. Other people can probably give you more in depth help with that, but drawing what you see is always a great starting point.
And also, What are your thoughts on this character I created that I sort of plan to include in an animation when I improve some more, any tips/thoughts on the drawing?
He is pretty simple which is good for animations so I won't say to change too much of the base. But when designing a character you should always keep in mind what their purpose is and what they'll be doing and have them dressed for the occasion.
As for the pose its pretty boring. He's just standing there, which while not necessarily a terrible thing it doesn't convey any emotion and with a little pose variation can drastically improve the character. found this pretty simple tutorial and think it will help you.

Which he didn't do...he just mocked someone.
I don't get it.. He makes fun of someone looking for advice, I point out it's not necessary and a bandwagon of his internet friends attack me. I was talking to him. Not any of you lol.
People come here to discuss working on and improving a skill. Go to the general if you want to just be a dick.
Just lay off it, man.
Jonny is a well respected member of the community, he has been here far longer than you have and in that time he has offered tons of helpful advice on people's posting. Even if he does pop in with one sentence posts saying "good job" or something along that line its still something nice to see in a thread.
Lay off it. There's no winning because there's no game.

Link shows his colors I guess.
I need to join in on this thread, there are some awesome characters here!

Man, I love the stuff you draw, it's so far removed from everything else.
I finished this and I like it.
I wanted to paint this so I painted this. Acrylics on a 15x30 canvas
Here's a work in progress.
Acrylic on canvas. its about 15x30

I also did yours.

Thanks for the draw, man. I see you took two rather large artistic liberties with the drawing.
Also thanks for supplying, good sir.
Well I'm out of characters I'd like to draw so here's one of my many jesters.
Enjoy.

I meant to do this guy when you first posted him up but it got away from me. So yeah, doubling up on Otto. There are the other two I did earlier hiding in the corners.
You've got it, ArkKay.

I ain't drawing no body.

I'm just saying that in order for people to want to draw one of the characters there has to be something special about them. Some sort of defining trait or stand out feature that attracts the people of the forum to the said character.
Your stick girl interested me because she had stick limbs. Carrion's Vexon interested me because Vexons are fun to draw and ArkKay's Green luigi pokeman dude interested me because he had a metal pipe thing.
Your naked bust lady didn't interest me because she was just a naked lady.

Gotta be honest here I don't really know that this drawing fits in this thread. It's not really a character so much as it is a topless bust of a chick. Beyond that there really is no personality or anything that gives any idea as to what her purpose is as a character.
But then that's just me.

Fuck No.
I mean, yeah.

Okay.
I liked the idea of this one but I didn't really put enough into actually figuring out how to draw what I wanted to draw.
Also here's the art portal link to that vexon I drew earlier.
I was out of ideas for drawing and didn't really have any references to start anything new and I remember a while ago I said ...
When all else fails: Jesters.
I've been bored lately so I decided to draw another other Jester. This was just a quick one though. I'm gonna paint the same...

Thanks man, I've come a long way since then. I'm flattered you took the time to slog through all of my work. Hopefully I can get to posting more often.
Also Happy Easter everybody. I didn't have time to do a better drawing so here's a scribbly sketch of a confused Jackalope.

By the way I totally won that, it made me $250 richer. Strangely it failed to fill the gaping hole in my soul.
Anyway, here's a painting I did for fun (or something similar to fun anyway).
I felt like painting without planning anything.
I've been Painting.
My brother wanted a Sasqatch Painting. I need to work on detail with acrylic. Acrylic on Canvas
Happy Saint Patrick's Day, Art Forum.
Thanks for the info, I definitely agree wit all that you said taking a second look at the drawing. I linked my friend all of the stuff you said and told him to take it into consideration.
This was fun to do.
My friend asked me to draw a tattoo for him involving a Sublime style sun and the ocean below. Colored Pencil & watercolor.
More Jester Girl thing. Not liking it too much.
If you want to do character art then draw characters. Post them up in this thread so we can give you further advice.
