Hmmm... with all these people being close to being done I guess it's about time for me to start eh? Of course, I guess I could wait a few more days...
Wait, didn't I say that a month or so ago?

Anyhow, I think mine will be cut back from it's original planned storyboards because I just have way too many other projects that need taken care of. Who knows, maybe I'll go all the way back to the drawing board and do something completely different?

Now I'm just rambling, but I haven't been on the NG BBS for seems like forever so I just wanted to write something or other.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

Here's a link to the third Cubetoons: http://cube.ign.com/mail/2005-03-18.html
Doesn't look like I'm running out of ideas so I guess stay tuned (or Cubetooned ha ha ha) for the fourth level coming soon!

Response to: There she is 1 & 2 Posted March 17th, 2005 in General

I watch there she is over and over and enjoy it every time. Everything just flows perfectly, and look at those character models! That's what they teach you in animation school- keep the characters simple but animated perfectly. Personally I still like the first one better, but the sequel is amazing too. It's all about the effort they put in, and you can sure tell a whole lot of effort went into those!

People like things that look as good as that, even if they aren't that funny, or cute, or whatever. Look at the Fallen Angel Teaser. It's been up there a loooong time because it's beautifully done.

Response to: An Igncube Comic! Posted March 17th, 2005 in General

Woo! I'm really excited now! I did a sequel to the http://cube.ign.com/mail/2005-03-03.html comic and it's up on IGN as well! Check it out http://cube.ign.com/mail/2005-03-14.html

I think the second one will make some kind of sense even for those who don't follow IGN as much. Look out for a third one coming soon! =)

I think you're on the right track! I really like the sink, it's nicely done. Perhaps you should skew the ripple circles so they are in perspective. Aka don't make them so perfect a circle, make them oval. Also you'll have to change your background to the light blue at the end anyway, so you might as well do it now.

Looking good! Keep at it! You can do it! Rah rah rah! (Insert more encouraging words here)

Lousy level 9... Just you wait until I get to level 10, then I'll show you........

I could just call it: A strange day by the pool! People would associate it to water and it would be alright. The Name can sometimes change your mentality towards something.
Anyways... Ill think about it

Yup, I bet if you change the name it'll help a whole lot. Great idea on how to tie it all together.

So this is it. Now, Space_Chicken, you can review.:D. Anyways review please and give suggestions. And say if you think it will be chosen out of the ones you saw or if you think its defenitly not going to be chosen. Just say stuff about it. Thank you and bye. Mynamewontfitin and Space Chicken, please review:D

I like it. Turned out very well. I'd say it's got a pretty good shot at making it into the top spots, but even if it doesn't, I'd say it'd certainly make it into the collab as long as there was room. Here's the one thing I think will keep it out of the top five: Water. Since the theme is water it's going to be difficult to get away with just having only 40% of the cartoon with water in it. I bet if you at least hint at water elsewhere it'd be better. I'm not sure where you'd put the water, but someplace. The only thing is it appears that there are several cartoons with water taking a backseat to the rest, so maybe you'll be ok with what's there.
Also I liked the glass pouring the credits, but when the glass enters from the right you need to work on that animation a little bit more. It's not clean enough. Nice job though! Good luck in the final voting!!

Hooray! My opinion means something to someone! =)
Seriously though you've got a GREAT start going here! I just see a few places to touch up and you'll be well on your way, my friend.
Here goes:
First, the speed lines when the car first drives away with the shoe need work. They aren't smooth enough to fit with all the other excellent animation.
I have to say, the twirling of the blue guy ROCKS! Best part visually if you ask me.
Your opening half deals a lot in the water, but then doesn't after that. I think you should cut the shooting personally, because it A) adds to the length of the parts that DON'T include water and B) does absolutely nothing to improve your story/idea. Perhaps you think differently or I'm missing something, so I'll let you decide if you want to keep it or not. I believe replacing it with perhaps a part where the one character slips on a puddle of water would improve your overal cartoon (and add some extra comedy and water!)
Finally what do you think about adding a little gnomish laugh at the end with the tiny guy sitting on the big guy's shoulder? Just a "Hee hee!" might add to the toon's ending.

You've got a really nice thing started here, and I can't WAIT to see the final product (if you do decide to change anything.) Really original and fun- great work!

Does that mean you will be including all of them again??? If so, put some form of order into the appearence of the submissions. Like have the most-voted ones on the very left of the scrolly thing, then descending votes as you scroll to the right. It was so random in the Green-Collab, I gave up fishing through them all.

I doubt they will ALL make it in, because even last time not every single one was included. But the runner ups in the voting did get their submissions put later in the Shades of Red. So I suppose if there is room this time as well then the runner ups (as long as they're good) will get in too. I think it's a matter of space and quality.

To a degree I suppose. But there will be no shades lighter than the green it appears, so that takes away the white that was in 5SoG. Plus they're all games. I don't think anyone would confuse the two.

Problem is if someone's game isn't about the american flag then it would be out of place.

Yeah, black would have been nice, but I think the whole point is to see how creative we can be with such limited resources. It doesn't take nearly as much work to make something look good in full color, but in order to pull off something incredible in limited color, you really need to be a good artist. It's an interesting challenge that's for sure!
