Quite an okay piece you have there. Nice style, I like the shading; I can never get that all black shading to work. The drawing style of the severed head (medusa?) doesnt really seem to match that of the guy holding it though. Id personally make the hair a bit more angled and less scribbly.

I like the hand; that looks really convincing. There are some weird shadows on his paints that I cant really place.

I like how you tried something different for the guys head; but I think it could use some more work design wise; at the moment it looks a bit like a dumb guy; which I dont think he is supposed to be.

Although I like the idea a lot, really.

The brightness is part of it. I dont consider it a bad thing if poeple need to look at my art for a bit longer. I understand that it might be annoying to you; but for me its an integral part of this drawing.

I find the black crosshatching on her lips quite distastefull. I dont know if you were planning of keeping the black lineart anyhow; but I suggest removing the crosshatching anyway.
