Thanks! but yeah, without flattering myself too much I guess that what it does come down too. I think submissions under judgement get upvoted a lot cause poeple try to garner save points; poeple that play a game from frontpage might have higher expectations.
On the other hand; poeple that only play frontpaged games might be less willing to look past bugs and stuff and are looking more for a quick thrill than poeple that actually look throught the portal.
Whoop Whoop DAILY FEATURE!
that`s a right, for those of you that missed it, Aigis and I were in a game jam team together and our game is currently the highest scoring from the jam, scoring us a neat daily first place. Have a play-through if you havent already.

Trying something new with my inking, what do you guys think?
Hmm hard to say... good that you are trying some different stuff, but I'll probably have to see the finished piece to see if I like it or not. I think it might become a bit bland/dirty if you get what I mean.
I'd like to point out here that imo using a photo reference is in the middle between using a real life observation and using someone else's art as reference.
I think those are all fine though, just mention that you referenced a piece; you can learn a lot from mimicking another artist's work.
So, Im not trying to defend 4urentertainment here. I don't know the particular circumstances, and frankly I don't want to know, my point is more about the idea of it:
Part of the challenge of these game jam things is quality standards... you want to make everything you do as good as you can, but you only have limited time and quantity can't suffer (usually). This goes for artists just like it goes for coders. As the deadline approaches you make decisions about what you are gonna try to improve and what you will leave as it is.
Again I'm not trying to defend 4ue, but telling him he failed cause he made a buggy game is just nonsense... I could point out a million things wrong with the art in all of these game jam games (including my own), yet noone really cares about that as much.
That being said I do believe in the value of sleep during these jams; when I've been awake for 20-24 hours my concentration deteriorates to a point where I increase my productivity by going to sleep for 6 hours and starting fresh in the morning. From what I've heard/read in this thread a lot of poeple underestimate the effect of tiredness on their productivity.

Assuming the planks on the floor are of equal width, there are four of them on the left side of the cat walk and seven on the right side.
It's the only thing that really caught my eye on first glance.
Looks good though!
I like the couches :O
If they can even be called couches.
I imagine those would be pretty uncomfortable... my main problem with the thing (apart from the brand) is the shape of the crates.... beercrates arent so elongated, which kinda changes the base of the idea....

Shows the literacy level of the newgrounds members!!
Then again, there are certain things to be said for taking a simple story that everyone knows. Labeling Alice's adventures in wonderland as a childrens tale is questionable btw.
I find it cool that I joined team NWO after they had already picked the story, one of the lesser known ones in this jam even, and I just happen to have it standing right next to me on my bookshelf.

I dont think that will be a major problem, you can always adress it when it arises; no need to worry about it now.
You do need to think about the late subscriptions; poeple only tend to read the first and the last post of a thread, so you should either: accept everyone that submits a drawing in time or only accept those that subscribed before the deadline (give or take a few exceptions you already granted). If you go for the latter option, that means the subscription phase is redundant and should probably be left out in future rounds.

I disagree: I think this:
- People aren't reviewing the pics, and mostly avoiding them,
Is the biggest problem... If everyone that drew something for the flood review all the other pics for the flood (and I mean really review, not just say you like it) poeple should be more inclined to join; thus solving problem 1 and 3 (A and C respectively)
Somehow the whole reviewing part never struck base with poeple. Personally I have to admit that I originally didnt know about it; once I did It made perfect sense to me and I started promoting it.
That said, if you were to give the floods a few month's rest to start anew with renewed interest it might be easier to stress the importance of reviewing.
Other than that I think you are doing a swell job with these floods; all art forum activities seem to lose interest after a while.
