Actually: wikipedia says quote: "The symbiotic relationship may be categorized as being mutualistic, parasitic, or commensal in nature..... Others define it more narrowly, as only those relationships from which both organisms benefit, in which case it would be synonymous with mutualism"
I like that were responding at the same time here, really in sync

A parasite is a creature that takes from it's in a symbiotic relationship.

Haha, you beat me to it.
Wikipedia says: a parasytic relationship is a type of symbiotic relationship.

I'm really not a 'kitty'-person but I'm starting to like my own creation. I guess I imagine him a bit like stewie (family guy), smoking cigars, f.t.w, that kind of stuff.
I redid Fred, made him a little larger, and gave him a tail.
His facial expression is a little better on the first one, I think.

Good for you, of you don't spend more time you won't really make anything good. Also asking for critique on a 2 minute drawing is kind of useless, since if you work on it for a bit longer you'll probably be able to get out lots of stuff yourself.
I agree with pretty much all folks above,
The text upside down/in circles/inverted/idk. isn't easy on the eyes, And the graphics aren't that much better. sorry.
Tip:

Hmm, I actually think the first energy alien looks better.
seems everytime you think you have improved your own work, I disagree.
What I like about the first one, is that is a little more vague than the second, while at the same time it is very clear what he looks like. if you get what i mean...

this just looks silly.
great work otherwise, especially like the birds
ps its a movie not a game
anyways thanks for the oppinon
Oh, hmm, gues you're right.
at first sight they appeared to be three instances of the same tree, My bad

When do we find oout who's won and when does the next one start? I'm feeling creative and need direction.
Come monday (tomorrow) there will be two new threads; the Creature of the Week #53, in which you will be able to read what the new topic is. And the COW #52 vote thread, in which it will be posted who won week 51 (I assume), and where you can vote for any one of this weeks submissions.
read the rules before starting a thread.
I think this should go in the request thread.

if it all adds up to at least 70%, then it's a good movie in my eyes.
I don't think it's as simple as fleshlight states it; If you have a really great story, it doesn't matter as much if you're graphics aren't top notch, it can still be a good movie. Likewise, If you have great graphics, you might not even need a story!. To make a truly epic flash, you'll need to have both.
HOWEVER: if your graphics are really bad (as, frankly, yours seem to be) people won't care about what story you tell, because they will only be paying attention to those terrible graphics.
I had this lying around, but it's old, and bad
I'm experimenting with a more minimalistic approach
This is what happens when I try to draw angry when I'm not angry..

Had this lying around, was just a quicky from the 'finish this' thread, I had to start with the two booblike circles (which are now his wheels). Just felt like doing something unexpected
refrain from using the paintbucket in photoshop, it gives those nasty edges. You can use the brush tool with paint UNDER to retouch them.

sorry, but it doesn't really seem angry to me... it just seems like the guy drawing it didn't really know what he was doing, and this is how it turned out. No offence intended.
My angry drawing?
I'm not angry
Do you want comments/critiques/are you going to post more previews? Or are you just guerilla marketing your comic?

well I freehanded the drawing onto a 3x3 inch piece of paper, then scanned it at 600 dpi
then i imported it to gimp and performed a Gaussian Differences.
then I used the color select tool and the colorize tool to color each square individually.
the eye is done using gradients, which I found much easier to use than gradients in photoshop.
Yeah that was kind of vague I guess (just got home from my job). What I meant is: It looks kind of cool, However: It could be either:
You spent some time thinking about what you were going to make, then you thought, I'll make it a eye in a mosaic, and then you carefully selected the colors you wanted to put in. ORRR
A five year old could basically draw those lines, and give them all a different color, and it just happens to look cool. (overstatement I know) ORRR
Anything in between.
See what I mean; it looks kind of cool but I can not tell from it If you were maybe trying really hard, and had a great idea, but it didn't work out amazingly well, or if you just drew some lines, threw in some colors, couple of filters, and uploaded it.
p.s. I know what GIMP is, I've just never used it. I've always used photoshop (flash in early periods), so I could go and tell you Photoshop is better, but really I don't know.

What do you think?
That's cool, Although next time try to put maybe more detail in the creature. After all it is all about creature creating right? It now looks kind of like you just drew it and uploaded it (no offense intended), which is cool, put it doesn't really give good drawings. Now maybe this is just because you are not as experienced, all fine then. It can be cartoony (see my entry for COW 51). But still try to put a little more detail in it, you might learn something from it.

ballpoints are great, so is this piece. What I love about ballpoints is that every line matters, you can't really afford to make any mistakes, or you'll have to be very creative in solving it. I don't know if you sketched this first maybe, but if you haven't it really is an outstanding feat. If you have it's still cool.

This program is SO powerful, and I plan to use it for a very long time. Surprisingly easy to use. I was pleased with the shortcut keys, too, they really made my editing faster.
I don't know gimp, so I can't respond to that, but the image is kinda okay. However: it could be just lucky okay (if you know what I mean), please make some more, so we can critique, (if that's what you're after)
just noticed: on the gimp-brush-boredday fox head (if you know what I mean). What's with the strange marks on his cheeck? apart from that it is definately your best work in this thread imo.
Did I say thighs? I meant hips
sorry for double post
