They do not just do a perfectly curved S and completely break off the relations between their torsos and pelvises.
You know that guy sitting next to you in the movie theatre during star wars saying "That could never happen, explosions don't work that way in a vacuum"? That guy is you. Fuckface

That is exactly why I thought this was a rad idea and also why I think it'd be a less great idea if you just chipped in some money for nae's competition. timing might be an issue though so yeah there's that.
At 7/24/12 11:28 AM, Mohabot wrote: I have clearly stated this contest will be shaped by the community. That means EVERYONE gets the potential to build on it until the event starts. I think this will be way more interesting as it would fit for a larger group than a preset one.
Hey let me just say that although I somewhat share some of the scepticism of some poeple, I think this is a great idea and it's brilliant you're putting your own money behind it. As someone else stated though; contact a mod about wether or not it would be ok; they'll probably also be willing to go over how to fix up a thread and what not with you, otherwise pm me and I'll see if I can help.
At 7/24/12 10:00 AM, Tomsan wrote: btw you can set up a contest very easily here. pretty good designers will react, and I even think the costs that you projected are sufficient.
That's for Design Commissions, not for Art Contests

Any system has its flaws; permabans such as yours are ways to hinder exploitation of those flaws.
here's a wild idea:
If you don't want to help someone if he's not offering payment; just don't help him. There is no need to get all butthurt over someone asking something.

I have a very old wacom tablet (CTF-420/G) but that thing is useless for drawing.
I want to draw with it, thats sure, I want to be able to sketch, but thats about it I guess. Any ideas on what models I can look at? older models I can maybe buy from ebay?
The bamboo is the modern version of the volito2 you had; a bit bigger, a bit more touch levels, bit higher dpi. I've never had any other and never had any problem with it.
Apparently wacom's eu store is only in german; but with a bit of translation I managed to find wacom's own second-hand store. They check all their tablets before the resell them and you get 2 years guarantee

I studied business studies and yeah businesses do that, but to say that that's how wacom "gets you" is just hugely exaggerated I'd say.
At 7/17/12 08:28 AM, M-Maher wrote: that's how wacom gets ya, they make the nibs out of cheapest plastic they can find and expect you to buy more at Ã'£1 per nib, its a business strategy really.
That's bollocks, the 10 quid you spend on nibs between getting new tablets is not where wacom gets it's money.

Why does the nib of my tablet pen after having it replaced just 2 weeks ago already feel like its similair to drawing with a needle on a chalkboard?
Gets me frustarted..
you can adjust the sensitivity so you won't have to press so hard; you can also try cleaning your tablet with some windex might have so grease and dirt piled on it...

I can only visualize what i'm going to draw to a very small extent. I can either visualize the rough composition, or some tiny details, but I can't put it all together to get a full image. I need to draw it to get that. I usually start my drawings with a rough idea of the composition which I'll then put to paper, and then I'll just start sketching as i go from there. Typically I only see if something works or not when It's on the canvas.
I wouldn't say you are suffering from total lack of creativity; try to get some real-life references for drawing and with a bit of luck you'll internalize them after a while.
also: yeah I do also code (as2)

Hiryu, I think that's really grand of you. The truth is though you did apologize before and didn't really change after that. Granted it can be very hard to get back once poeple have formed their opinion of you over here.
I think it'd just be for the best if you took a month off from this forum. Let the disappointment of being unscouted and all the bad feelings fade away and in the meantime just draw a lot. I really like some of your drawings but anime really isn't my thing so I can't help you a whole lot. What I can say is that sometimes it's best to not try so hard when it comes to drawing. Instead of trying to make this one drawing perfect, just draw and draw and spend the time you'd otherwise spend improving that one drawing to make 3 other drawings.
Best of luck, if you need any other help or pointers you can pm me.

Just make sure you put NSFW (not safe for work) in the thread title if you upload it in the forums here, or tag it correctly when you upload it to the portal

You guys are lucky my homework is boring
The top right quadrant is Killerrob's "original painting", I did some dust removal in photoshop (all filter, no manual actions) which gives the bottom half.
Next I added a nice canvas texture using the "texturizer" filter in photoshop. It's not the same color; but you'll see the lines match up. Mind you, this is at standard settings; I didn't even have to adjust the texture zoom.

I'm not too sure about this, you'll get some trouble with the borderline cases; if someone only just qualifies for advanced round he basically gets punished for having some arbitrary level of skill.
