I'm the exact same, I just block out the rest of the world with my headphones, but no music at all means I can think clearly...if I need music, I've recently been listening to Dani California by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and I like to animate to that, but I prefer silence...
I'm not a AS master, but I think that there's a command 'else' which means if something doesn't happen do whatever...I'm not sure, it might look something like this...
if(Key.isDown(Key.ENTER)) {
gotoAndPlay(3)
}
else {
gotoAndPlay(7)
}
I checked that on Flash, and it had no errors, but I'm not sure if it has the intended effect...
The 'gotoAndPlay's can be changed for anything of course, I was just using it as an example...
It's already been done.
It's called the Audio Portal....
I myself wouldn't go out of my way to buy Flash CS3 if I had Flash 8, Flash 8 has most basic good features that you need for animation, such as filters and all that...

Yeah, I saw that, it looks cool, but might take away from the artiness of it all, if we can post comments on peoples pages, and see that John has 45 kisses, 'Send John a kiss now'....but anyway, thanks..
Is there any way to tell if somebody is online (except from the forum 'Who's Online' thing) or when they were last online?

What are the chances that this thread will be files with posts saying 'I didn't win :(' or 'I thought i was gonna win LOLZ XD' ? Methinks high...
Anyway, good luck with Comic-Con, and congrats to the winners of the 20 giveaways...
You can get a 30-day free trial (with the option of buying) for Flash CS3 in the Adobe website..it has a Mac and a Windows option, I think...it's been a while since I was on it...
Almost everybody uses it, or a past version of it...I myself use Flash 8, but most new animators use Flash CS3....
2.48 seems quite big for 30 seconds, but anyway...
Try File>Export>Export Movie ...I'm not sure if it makes any difference, it shouldn't, but it might happen to work...sometimes computers have very random logic...
I got a Wacom Bamboo a couple of months ago, and was finding it much easier still to draw with the mouse, but I persevered and now I find using a tablet SO much easier.....although a mouse can be easy enough if you zoom in enough, that's what I found....
The moral of the story is: Get a tablet.
You're more likely to get a .mp3, but SoundDogs is good for SFX....

Yeah, I know that wasn't too good, but it shows that I have experience of working with Tankmen, and if you feel like checking out some of my other, probably better stuff..but I dunno..tbh, the worst part of that Tankmen flash was the dialogue, which I wont be doing....up to you really...
Has Tankmen been taken? I've previously done a Tankmen Flash and my BA is 3.4, so is there anything in it for me...only thing is that I only have flash 7..are Flash 7 files compatible with Flash 8?

I'll be willing to make something a tiny bit better than the crappiest thing ever and win! But the deadline is too soon for me, cos I've another project going on....
This is my part...I dont really think that it's too good, but meh..It's meant to represent all the different tags that people put up all over the place, and what not...
I admit to exporting it from MSPaint, so I hope it won't look too bad...If it does I won't cry my eyes out if it isn't included....
This looks interesting, I think I'll give it a go when I have the time...
Count me in!

I enjoy designing games, even if they're all useless, so I've done a variation on the above technique: I just plucked 2 words out of nowhere, and thought up a game:
Diaphragm Bounce: You are a breath of air inside a human's anatomy. Time your fall right with you rise and fall of the diaphragm, to fly up into the air, and out the mouth, as a breath...
(Kinda like a gravity game, I think...Haven't decided)
Help a cloud get through the minefield that is the sky! Collect vapour packets on your way, but be careful, don't collect too many, or you'll burst, and you'll flood the whole of Armenia! Also, watch out for those nasty aeroplanes which can burst you as well.....
Emm..I dunno, I just looked out the window, and saw a cloud, so I designed a game about it...
Clap clap...no really, that's good that you got to 3.00 straight away....I applaud your efforts, although I'm not sure if you should have made a whole thread for it..but meh..
The casting process is finished! I reveal to you: The final cast!

shouldn't this really be in the audio forum, as it hasn't anything to do with flash...

Anyone remember Arfenhouse? You could just flash a mouth open and shut.
Otherwise, I'm told that just doing the lipsync to the word "watermellon" is convincing enough.
Got lots of 'em...they're fairly simple humans...no interesting art or anything like that.....
'Watermelon' you say? Might give that a go...I should probably tried something like that, I have, after all, been an extra in a few films, where you just say rhubarb...

other thing you can do is have the person who's not talking facing the camera, while the speaker has their back to it.
some anime cut costs that way... but that's really cheating.
lol, I might do that for a few shots, but for a whole animation would indeed be cheating....

Take a look at lazy muffin's work for easy to do lip syncing. It's really subtle and it works well without too much work. He actually probably has something on the front page right now, Bob and the Apple I think.
So, kinda, 4 or 5 frames that he alternates between...that's what it looks like to me....
Perhaps something along these lines: (but not done in paint really quickly)
What is the best way to get off doing people talking in flash, without lip-syncing? Should I just have a few different mouths and alternate them in different keyframes? Or motion tween an open mouth getting bigger and smaller? Or a different way?
Thanks,
